Okay I am reading about the rehab at OKW. The list states wood floors will be replaced. I am at a lost. We have stayed at OKW 4 times in a 2bdrm. I dont' recall any hard wood floors in the unit. I know Carpet in the majority of the unit and tile in the kitchen/laundry/bathrooms. Maybe they ment new tile?? Soo happy to see a sleeper chair is being added. DS9 is a kicker and DS10 usually gets kicked all night long. We stayed at AKV last summer and dd6 loved the sleeper chair.
We are booked for Aug at OKW. Just a bit nervous that we won't get an updated unit.
BTW the list waqs on DVCNews.com

DebbieB-- thanks-- I have never been in a grand villa. Somewhere I thought I was loosing my mind about there being hardwood floors in the 2bdrm villas,
Thanks again

Yes, and frankly, the hardwood floors in the GVs are very noisey for the people in the 2 bedroom villas below them! I HATE being stuck in a villa UNDER a GV! It always makes me insist that our guests when we are staying in a GV be sure to walk softly and not bounce around too much.

From what I have read OKW is getting
new paint
new carpet
new drapes/blinds
granite counters
sleeper chair in 1bdrms and up
new fabric for couches- I hope they mean new couches
new ceiling fans
Flat screen tvs
I want to say new bed coverings too.
They are starting Spring of 2010 should last till 2011
Our visit in 2009 = our 2bdrm villa was in such sad shape. The couch had no life left in the cushions at all. You litterly sat in a ditch! The carpet was soo badly stained and had tons of large pulled threads hanging out. We had to have the dryer replaced when we were there - it ran for 2 hrs w/o drying the clothes. Maintaince was great when they called. It just needs a serious update
We currently have a ressie for Aug. Not sure if I will keep it. I am nervous about getting a room that isn't done yet. We may go back to AKV again this year if there is room at the 7 month mark. Though we seriously need our laid back stay at OKW, I think AKV may be where we head. Don't get me wrong we absolutely love OKW but just unsure about the rehab. The only good thing is that it may not be as crowded- not that we usually see a crowd there.
We're at OKW right now in a one-bedroom in building 62. Our daughter and her family are in a one-bedroom right above us.
In their unit, not ours, all flooring except the bathroom has been replaced with cheap looking vinyl with a wood grain design. I feel like I should be in Wilderness Lodge.
We're not liking this new look it at all. The overall look has definitely taken a big hit.
