I know this has been posted on this board before but I can't find it.
Does anyone have the address to write and get permission to copy the photos of our family purchased at Shutters?

Thanks 4nana.
We are sailing again in October and was hoping to use one of the pictures taken for our Christmas card.

It's been a while since our last trip and I was curious if Shutters was offering any type of digital pictures on a disk you could take with you.

Not yet, but I think that's a great idea. I, for one, would prefer that option.

I agree with you Dave. We got my daughters 3 year old pictures taken a few weeks back at JC Pennys and they will allow you to download digital copies of the pictures from a website for 5.00. The pictures are a low resolution and would not be suitable for printing anything much bigger than a wallet size picture but it is nice to have a digital copy of all of the pictures, even the poses we didn't have made into prints.
I thought this would be a great option with the Disney pictures. They could offer them in a low enough resolution that they did not affect their other business but good enough people could e-mail them, etc.

We used our last October formal picture for our Christmas cards. We had the CM take a picture of us with our own camera. We then made copies of those. They look just as good as the professional 8x10. Actually, our coloring on my picture was better. The DCL picture was a little dark.

So has anyone actually gotten permission? I e-mailed the above and haven't heard anything yet. I'd like to take some of their pics and make nice copies to put in frames for home, office, and keep the originals in our photo album.

During the first year of operation the Magic used all digital cameras for the protraits. They were large, medium format type, Kodaks. Each evening you could go to a kios at shutters and swipe your KWW card to see all of your images. You could select from different backgrounds and do some cool stuff with the images. They quit doing this the second year because of problems with the printers. I believe the kios' were still there last year when we cruised.
I know there are several chain drug stores in our area that offer your 35mm prints on CDs done in house. I am sure it would be a big money maker for DCL but then again it may cut into their very profitable print business. The CMs have always been great about using our cameras, digital and SLR, to make photos for us at the time of the protrait sitting.

pal2pluto,
I did get permission before our December 2001 cruise and kept the copyright release letter until we got back. When I took the photos in to get copies made they asked for a release letter and made a copy of it for their files!
I used the e-mail address and heard back from someone pretty quickly with directions on how to get the release letter. If you don't hear soon, I'd try again!

The name of the company that holds the copyright to DCL pictures is Image Photo Sevices Inc. I got the company name from a CM in Shutters, then plugged it into Google to find the address and other info.
Good luck!
