Hi all,
been away for a bit, but now it's 2010 it feels like my wedding is closer than ever!
being an Escape bride I can't confirm my date until feb, but hoping for 10/10/10 (as you may recall)
We just found out that the wording of the wedding ceremony in USA is county rather than state specific, so does anyone have an example of what the requirements are legally speaking for WDW / whatever county that's in?
can we write something of our own?
How does the unity candle thing (that we want to do) fit in?
Can we ask people to say things? (is it expected / usual that we would?)
Thanks in advance for your help, lovely ladies
Lx

Huh? I think the wording of the ceremony is dependent on your officiant. I am unaware of any of the rules you mention.

I'm sure. Many people here have. Ask your officiant.

Welcome and congrats!

I know that the rules for filing for a marriage licence are different per state, but as for the actual ceremony, I don't believe there are major specifics beyond stating a vow and that you agree to be married.

I don't know the rules for UK citizens getting married in Disney, but I am sure that the planners would know those rules :)

Congrats! I believe the wording is up to you. I think what you may be mentioning is the certificate, etc.?

It depends on the officiant of the wedding as far as vows, etc. We had Reverend Jack Day who was amazing and such a sweet guy. He let us choose our wording and even let my grandpa get up and do a prayer and read the 'Love is patient, love is kind'. So I think pretty much anything goes.

Good luck and congrats !

Thanks guys!

We were under the impression that, like most places there would be certain things that must be said for legal reasons, but we did not know what they were and the only info we found told us that they are varied by county and not by state. perhaps this is just in the registration of the certificate, who knows?

Anyway, we can ask in feb, hopefully, and get to work on what we want to say (DP could be needing a LOT of time to figure that out LOL)
