How long would you stand?

Went to EPCOT today ... never again MK since at 9:30AM the signs said it was full. Did Malestorm and China and when we left at about 12:45 on FP for Living with the Land was available and the waits for Soarin' was 240min, Test Track 225 min and Mission to Mars 210 min. For those number challenged that between 3 1/2 to 4 hour standby wait :rotfl2:

We're off in about 30min to do the Osborne lights and do the midnight thing at MGM (sorry will always be that and not Disney Hollywood studios, just like EPCOT will always be Laserphonic regardless of what they want to call it now).

Tomorrow is a down day with watching the Captial One bowl and then the seafood buffet at SOG.

4 HOURS?!?!??! Forget it. There isn't a single ride at any theme park anywhere in the world that's worth waiting in a line for 4 hours. I'm afraid I'd have to head back to FW, pop open an ice-cold adult beverage, :drinking1and start looping.

For some reason Test Track, Mission, and Soarin' are the biggest rides at WDW with the longest waits. I ain't standing in any line for more than 30min tops. Tonight at MGM about 1030 pm there was only a 10 min standby for Star Wars. The park was not that crowded except for the main drag for the midnight FWs.

Back 20 to 25 years ago when the boys were scout age and we were more tolerant we did wait in some ride lines for up to two hours, but even then that was about our limit.

Now anything with more than a 30 min standby is iffy and we will plan around our FP tickets to reduce that. Today we entered the FP lane for Malestorm and were seated in under 2 min. :thumbsup2

One time on a really slow day at night at MK the DW and 2 DS rode Big Thunder like 5 times in a row as a walk on absolutely no wait and the same thing has happened at TOT at MGM.

Larry - We were at Epcot yesterday because our dearest friends were in town and that's where they wanted to go. (They've never been) Believe me....I would never ever do that for any other reason. I got a FP for Soarin' at 9:30am and the return time was 8:51pm!!!

Despite the tremendously packed conditions, we walked into just about everything except for Maelstrom - which was a 70 minute wait for a 3 minute ride. We didn't even try for Mexico - it was a 120 minute wait - IF you could get to the ride queue!

Thankfully - they had fireworks at 7:40 - which a lot of people left afterwards. We did our FP at Soarin' after that and left. We even had to wait in a line just to EXIT the park. At 9am they were parking people in the far, far lot (past AAA diamond parking), and when we pulled out, there were cars parked in the grass everywhere - including along the main roads leading into the parking lots.

Our friends were staying in Carribe Royal (beautiful resort), so we went to ABC & Winn Dixie - stocked up on supplies and headed to their room to usher in the New Year's.

About 7pm the CM's had put up ropes along the walkways and were channeling people to stay to the right and walk in one direction only. They also opened up a walkway behind Mexico to either exit the park or to get to future world from world showcase.

This is the first and last time I will ever be at a park on NYE. That's one thing you can take to the bank!!!

We waited 70 minutes the first week of December to ride Toy Story Mania, just two adults. I can't image waiting that long with smaller kids in tow. It has to be a pretty special ride to wait that long. A friend was at WDW for Thanksgiving and she said there was a wait at Animal Kingdom that was 300 minutes. No way, even with potties along the way!

No way, no how would I wait 3 or 4 hours to ride any ride! I might wait 2, but it would only be 'cause my kids begged and pleaded! When you look up "impatient" in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of me beside the definition. (I am not a rude impatient person though.)

Our family had to choose between waiting in line for Soaring or skipping it so we could see the fireworks. The wait time was two hours.

We chose to wait in line. Luckily, the crowd was in a good mood and everyone got along well so it wasn't as exasperating as it could have been. And ... it was our first time on the ride so, yes it was worth it to us.

We just spent 3 weeks at the Fort, for the busy time, we used the Touring plans which worked out well. If there was a long waite, >30 min, we skipped. The weather kept crowds low, the only good thing about the weather

Seems the great and powerful at WDW would realize that when multitudes are standing in line for hours, they are not spending money in the stores and restraunts. There must be a way to fix that...to improve the crowd waits and to improve the turnover for WDW.

Seriously, I won't stand in a line over 30 minutes. And I'd have to give serious consideration to that. Must be something I REALLY want to experience!

We won't stand in line more than 20 minutes. Personally we don't think the rides at Disney are all that great compared to Cedar Point Park in OH. At Disney, we'll go on any ride with a short line.

We have been in line for 3 hours for Soarin and Toy Story Mania, but that was at Christmas. When you go at the most crowded times of the year, you have to expect extremely long lines. I just don't let it bother me. When we go in August, the lines aren't as long, but you don't get the atmosphere that you get at Christmas. The bottom line is, if you don't want to stand in line, try and go at the least crowded times of the year. I know that isn't always possible.

aren't they doing something like this with the new dual Dumbo rides at MK? get there, get a ticket (much like a fastpass) that has a printed time on it. then can stay in that general area and blow off your wait time shopping and doing other small interactive stuff. but unlike fastpass....there is no "stand there forever in line" option. only way to ride is to get a ticket. it may have a 10 min return time or it may have a much much longer return, time....but you must get a ticket to get on the ride. if only they had thought of that with TSM. love the ride, the line stuff is cool, but i still don't want to look at that same giant crayon for 20 min, only to move 3 feet and look at a different giant crayon...and so on, and so on, and so on.
