If so, what resorts did you go to and for how many days each? If not, would you?

My DH and three kids and myself went last Sept for 5 days and split our stay between AS Moview for 2 nights and the YC for 3 nights. The kids loved both resorts. We were able to check into the YC early so that made it easier.

DH and I split a trip....3 nights at the Dolphin (he was there on business, and the company paid for that room.....) and 2 nights at ASMu......(we wanted to extend the trip economically....). It worked out OK for us, but I don't think I'd be willing to do it again, especially with our 3 kids in tow, unless our trip was 10 days or longer. For me, it just took up too much of our precious touring time to switch resorts on a 5 day trip.

Technically we were there (and are going again) for 6 nights, but the first day was arrival day and we didnt do the parks, just rested after a 24 hr drive and went for dinner. On those 6 nights we did Sun-Thur nights at ASMO, then Fri at the Poly. It worked very well, and we plan to do it again next month. I would do it that way again(with 4 at ASMO) even if we only had 5 days.

Let's see, we had 2 nights (scheduled for 3) at the Orlando Marriot World Conference Center, then 1 night at All Stars (which was great) then 2 nights at Contemporary.
Last trip, we split 7 days 3 ways - 1 night Caribbean Beach, 5 nights Contemporary (using UPH's), and 1 night POR (to make the most of the last day of the Park Hopper - at least that was as good an excuse as any).
This year, see below.

We just stayed one night at the BWI and switched our last 4 to the GF. That wasn't the plan going in, but our experience with the BWI was so bad that we were trying to switch less than 12 hours after arrival.

We did it this summer. 9 nights
In order of stay:
3 nights WL - MK & DD
2 nights AKL - AK & Blizzard Beach
2 nights Dolphin - Epcot & MGM & Boardwalk
2 nights Contemporary - MK and July 4th fireworks from Poly
We enjoyed it. A new adventure and convience to certain areas of the World.

No because to us, it is just not enough time... the least amount of time I would consider would probably be 10 days. That is the only way I could talk DH into it. Once he is settled, unless something is wrong with where we are, then we are staying put.

I took a first timer on a trip last August. Since it was my second trip to Florida (from California) that year I needed to budget a little more but still wanted to impress him. We did two nights at The Dolphin ($155) and then moved to 3 nights at the Polynesian($189). I normally would recommend staying 3 nights per place but I was sort of trapped by the short trip. ;) We had a great time and I would have liked to spend more time at the Dolphin.

Actually, we've done it three times. Once from Dixie Landings to Poly for one night. (really wanted to try Poly but couldn't afford it) Once All Stars three nights and then PO for a night - All stars was full Thanksgiving and had to move. And All Stars to Dixie for a night. (Dixie Landings is my favorite resort)
Either we let Disney take the bags or I'll pack one night/day's worth of stuff in one bag and we'll throw everything else in the car for the night. Then one of us goes to the new resort to check it while the other entertains the troops.

I voted "did it--never again!"
As first timers in WDW last November (Thanksgiving week) this is what we did:
1st night: Doubletree Castle Hotel--used points--terrible!
2nd & 3rd nights: Hard Rock Hotel--loved it--the rest of the family didn't want to leave there!
4th & 5th nights: AKL--savannah view--loved it--by now, I was really wishing we hadn't done the "split-trip between resorts thing"!!!
6th-8th nights: Beach Club--waterview--best location
9th night: Hyatt at the airport (using points)--it was nice to be right there for our 7:30am flight
We had a system of packing so that we didn't lug all of our bags all of the time--but it was a pain anyway!
Good luck with whatever you decide!:D

IMO, 5 nights is not long enough to switch resorts. I think it's much more relaxing to settle into one place for all 5 days.
