Just to prove that I have far too much time on my hands Im wondering if you can put me out of my misery and explain your usernames?? Are there any meanings behind them???
Some are obvious others intrigue me :rotfl:
Mine dates back to our first trip when we were travelling to find Buzz Lightyear for the boys !! DD wasnt even a twinkle in dh eyes then :rotfl2:
Must admit i kind of like it now !!
hildasmuriel
12-28-2009, 11:14 AM
I have probably explained mine a few times but here goes....
The first message board I ever went on was a Coronation Street one and I have used the same username ever since.
Hilda Ogden was an old Corrie character who had a hideous mural on her wall that she was very proud of. She used to refer to is as her 'muriel'
Hence Hildasmuriel.
Dimplenose
12-28-2009, 11:26 AM
I've explained mine a number of times too.
Back in 2002 I desperately wanted to know if our video camera would fit in the hotel safe and with a lot of surfing came across this site which seemed to be able to answer almost any WDW question possible.
In order to ask a specific question I needed to join the boards and to join the boards I needed a user name. I really, really, really wanted a Disney related name but obviously every time I came up with a name it was already in use by someone else. So I started to think of the more obscure characters and came up with Dimplenose.
It was only after I had joined up that I remembered that Dimplenose was the family nickname for Jane from the Tarzan films and would have no meaning to anyone else outside my immediate family.
But as I have said before, it didn't really matter what name I chose as I was only going to ask one question ...:rolleyes1

The Little Mermaid is my fave film and the year i was born was 83...hence thelittlemermaid83 so unorginial :lmao:

This screen name was made for a site that specializes in discussions on handbags, a play on words.
NeverlandClub23
12-28-2009, 11:52 AM
I picked mine because my very first trip to WDW we stayed at Poly and I was mesmerized by everything (I was 11). They had a separate building for their arcade and kid's club (Neverland Club) at that time and I remember playing at the arcade one day by myself and watching the kid's going into the Neverland Club side and wishing I was them :). Also, Peter Pan's Flight was one of my favorite rides.
I don't really know why I threw the number on the end though :confused3. I was 23 when I joined but I'm pretty sure just "NeverlandClub" wouldn't have been taken ;).

wideeyes
12-28-2009, 12:18 PM
Mine is after my daughter, when she was a new born she has really lovely large wide alert eyes and that everyone commented on. DBF set me up with a hotmail account when she was a couple of weeks old so I could sign up to free coupons such as pampers so I used wideeyes as my email address. When I signed up hear I just ended up using it again due to lack of imagination.

Mine is the made-up name DH uses for me when I do something a bit daft (happens quite often, I'm afraid! :sad2:) It's kind of like calling me a 'numpty' but in his own unique way! At least I know whatever forum I use it on, no-one will ever be using the same name!
Head_in_the_clouds
12-28-2009, 12:46 PM
I wanted a username that reflected my personality and when I was a little girl my Mum, who is a very practical person, always used to get annoyed with me and say "Honestly, your head is in the clouds!", I was a bit like Belle, nose always in a book, always acting out stories, singing and dancing round the house and dreaming about fairies and using my imagination. As I've got older, I realise that just because my Mum isn't as much of a daydreamer as me doesn't mean that I'm a bad person or anything. I actually think "Head in the Clouds" is quite a lovely way to be and lots of great people (like Walt Disney:thumbsup2) and people I admire and aspire to be like were or are dreamers in some way :goodvibes.
darthtatty
12-28-2009, 01:23 PM
I used to really collect tatties- the grey Me to you bears in Clintons and H samuel.
Thats how i got Tatty and Darth as my husband is obsessed with Star Wars :thumbsup2
I used to use Darthtatty on the tatty forums and kept it here, although these days id like something more Disney. :goodvibes

I've used lizzybear online for a long time now (though in the past few years i've noticed other people have been getting in on the act and i've had to add stuff to it, how very dare they! :rotfl:) I used to get called Lizzybeth as a nickname in school and i've always been a Care Bears fan (they're even part of one of my tattoos :)) so someone said it should be Lizzybear instead!

Great thread. I've often seen what has looked like a really inventive username and wondered what the reason was behind it.
In my case...nothing more interesting that my initials, i'm afraid. Years ago I started working in an office which had a number of 'Paul's and the nickname just stuck since then :)

It interesting to read the real reason behind names - I'm afraid I just jump to conclusions.
I though Darthtatty was to do with the Mr Potato Head toy.:flower3:
And some I just misread altogether. (Goofyish will always be GoofyFish to me.)
As for using 1984 because it's your date of birth - nooooo, that's far too young.:rotfl:

That's what I thought too.
I always read Wayneg as 'Wayne EGG' and I didn't get Bolanette for ages - I thought it might be her real name 'Annette';) - didn't make the link with Marc Bolan at all.:confused3

When I moved to this house (22 years ago now) I thought the house opposite had a very exotic name, maybe named after a tropical island or romantic holiday place. It was called "Tengee" it was only years later when it was sold and the new owners replaced the sign I realised it was just the house number "10G".
