Waitlist Success (doing the happy dance)!

I've been on the waitlist for some days over the Thanksgiving holiday for about 4 weeks now. Each day has come through but the dreaded Thanksgiving night. Late Friday afternoon we got the call and I was able to confirm the ressie this afternoon! I am so happy. I am truly a waitlist believer now. We'll spend the first part of the week at Hilton Head and the rest of the week at OKW. I am so happy! This will be our family's first road trip going this far from home. To anyone that may be on a waitlist, I wish you much success.

DH and went out to dinner on Friday night and I know the people at the next table were happy when they finished their dinner and could leave because all evening I kept saying, "honey, we're going to Disneyworld" and they would look over at me like I was crazy. Anyway, just had to share my happiness with people that I know understand!

Thanks so much for the well wishes guys! I was holding my breath until T-day became available. I've been doing some research on OKW and it seems so relaxing and peaceful. Can't wait to stay there!

I didn't know the happy dance was a real thing until my waitlist came through the other day. I'd read somewhere that even though you're on the waitlist you should call periodically. Well, I did and they had one night available. But when I said I'd take it, she told me "But you already are booked for all the nights you wanted at BCV". I just hope I didn't pierce her eardrum when I screamed "Great!" Isn't that a wonderful feeling.

Congratulations on the dates. I know what you're saying about the way people sometimes react. I just hope they find a way to experience the magic in their lives. The excitement every time I approach the gates to the Magic kingdom is something you have to experience to understand, and I'm 53! Now I feel that way about the whole WDW experience, especially traveling with a young daughter since I see the excitement through her eyes too. Now that we're part of DVC I expect the magic to be even more special!

I think I did that same happy dance when my waitlist came through for the equally dreaded New Year's Eve in the very elusive standard BWV. It's the best feeling when the waitlist comes through. Congratulations!:bounce:

Hey, Zeraspride-I hope you're ready to do the happy dance again. I just got my written confirmation in the mail-it's one thing to hear it on the phone, that's worth one happy dance, but I got excited again when I actually saw it in writing today.

Yes, I believe the waitlist does work. We had 3 nights reserved at the BW for Jan '03 and wanted a 2br for all 3 nights. I couldn't get the first night and had to reserve 2 studios.

At my original call, I did not get put on a waitlist nor did they even ask me if I wanted to. Only until I read a post here about getting on a waitlist did I call MS back and have them put me on one.

Not even 2 weeks later, I got confirmation in the mail that I will be at the BW in a 2br for all 3 nights. Thank God! I wasn't thrilled about moving twice in one vacation. (We will be staying at OKW for the last 7 nights).

Congrats. . . . . I wish that I could be doing the happy dance too. We've be on the waiting list for a while now for Thanksgiving night, no word yet! I can't wait . . . I could just scream! We are on the wait list for all the resorts in hopes of that night becoming available in either a studio or 1BR. This will be our first DVC trip.

Tbickford - I hope your waitlist comes through. It was driving me crazy not knowing if we would get the one night when we had the others we wanted. Like you, we were waitlisted for all the resorts but I really want to try OKW (of course it doesn't hurt that OKW has the lowest points and for those days surrounding and including Thanksgiving day, I am happy to save a few points). Anyway, please keep us posted and let us know WHEN your waitlist comes through!
