Starting this trip report just hours before we head out the door on another Disney adventure (I know you are all shocked!) We are headed down to Disney to ring in the New Year on the Poly Beach with lots of Disfriends.

It's the usual crew ...

I will be coming back after we return and reintroducing the group with individual pictures. I just don't have any good individual pictures right now and I intend to remedy that starting tomorrow.

We are driving instead of flying this time. Staying at Pop Century and leaving on January 2nd to head home.

Good morning everyone! We had a good trip down. Both the girls did fabulous being stuck in their carseats for so very long. We got to the hotel (off property) yesterday afternoon and rested for a little while. Then headed to Downtown where we got to meet Mrs. Anitawigd (wigdoutdismom), Marc (wsushocker), and Brooklynn's new boyfriend, Baylor. They were headed out on the early flight this morning and gave us all their food they had left. Water, cereal, waffles, milk, juice. Thank you so much again!!!!! We also encountered the Disney security guard that thought she was working White House security.

MeMom, Bella, and I are headed down to eat breakfast. I'll check in before we leave since internet is free here.

Good morning, all!

We had an uneventful trip down, and the girls were very good, so it made it pleasant. The guys ended up coming several hours behind us, and they paid for it by hitting terrible traffic, which made for a not as pleasant commute for them.

We had a wonderful Dis meet last night with Marc, Anita, and Baylor, who are as nice as anyone you'll ever meet! :goodvibes Baylor was so sweet to let Brooklynn follow him around and dance to the live music in front of the game tree while the grown-ups talked.

We are getting ready to make a grocery run, check out the mall, and then get on over to Pop to really start this adventure.

We'll keep you 'here' as much as we can. We hope to have a great week!

Hi, MeMom and Jill- I started reading about your summer trip sometime in October when I was getting ready to go on my 2nd WDW trip with my sister. I have read the whole thing, come over to this thread, and am now going back to the very beginning to your first trip report. My youngest daughter is around the same age as Brooklyn and she likes to look at the pictures of Brooklyn and Bella. Anyhow, since I seem to now be a MeMom trip report addict, but I have never posted I thought I'd take a moment to say hello. I was also wondering if you let anyone look at the pictures on Trent's facebook, or if that is a secret thing for your DIS friends that have been with you for a long time.

I hope you are having a great time! Make the most of it and then hopefully your memories will carry you over the 6 months until you can visit your happy place again!:)

I wish I was - I was thinking the same thing. Cool Springs is nice, but if you don't live there is just seems so hard to get to. I got an email from Disney Store saying it will close on or before Jan 23rd. I imagine they will have great sales. I wonder if a Hippo meet is possible before it closes? I missed the first one since we were moving that weekend, but would love to meet everyone.

MeMom, you might not see this until you get back but I'm bouncing off the walls right now!! Our April trip wasn't definite because my mom wasn't sure if she could get that week off from work. Her new boss is more strict than her old one. But she emailed him, asking for that week off and....HE SAID YES :dance3: We always make our reservations through AAA and I was all ready to head over to the AAA office immediately but we got something in the mail and apparently January is AAA Disney Discount month or something like that. So we're going first thing saturday morning to make our reservations :banana: I've waited this long, I can wait three more days :laughing:

I wish I was - I was thinking the same thing. Cool Springs is nice, but if you don't live there is just seems so hard to get to. I got an email from Disney Store saying it will close on or before Jan 23rd. I imagine they will have great sales. I wonder if a Hippo meet is possible before it closes? I missed the first one since we were moving that weekend, but would love to meet everyone.

I used to live in Franklin (and work at that Disney store actually :laughing:), but we are east of the airport now and I do get down there quite a bit to eat with mom or visit family. So I'm always in Cool Spgs, but I never seem to go in the actual mall. There's so much stuff down there I'm in all the other stores :upsidedow. Now I might just have to take a trip in there if I have the itch! Plus my FAVORITE (NY&C) store to shop at is right across the way :woohoo:

OK here's how this went down...I posted on page 7 just after Punkin mentioned the live feed. So last night on facebook I was just getting ready for bed when someone posted the link. So I vaguely remember watching it from someone's room last year. I thought I would click on the link and see if it was the same as last year. I knew there were dissers on there so I got on and said my disser name. People were so friendly and then they mentioned Dave's name. I vaguely remembered that name from last year. So since Memom is the only person I know in Disney right now, I jokingly said...."Hey Dave, yell out to the people walking by the Poly and see if Memom is out there." It was just totally random...I had NO IDEA they were sitting right there in the grass. I was just trying to say Hi to Disney World in general! Then the next thing I know someone said this guy Trent was singing a song. I thought to myself.....hey Memom's son is named Trent. The picture was too grainy to make it out but...I caught a glimpse of some guy named Trent and then I saw Jarvis. I almost freaked out. I asked wdwcanadianfan if that was THE TRENT AND JARVIS?? I almost fainted. Here I was joking around and it was really him. I posted on his facebook page and all of a sudden I could hear Jill and Dave talking to them and the baby fussing was actually Bella....The light-up purple ring girl with blond hair wasn't just some random child it was BROOKLYN....then all of a sudden I see BELLA! Then I am trying to make sense of this and went back to the thread but I loaded up the wrong thread...not this one but the old one...I was so out of sorts. Then I checked back on FB and Trent confirmed it was indeed them. Needless to say, I was soooo amazed I ended up staying up and watching the whole thing. People on the live feed kept asking me who was this memom and brooklynn I was going on and on about. Oh and the trivia game was fun too...boy people are really quick on the answers. Then this morning I check this thread and realize that the fact that Memom was going to be there was announced and I feel silly for not double checking this thread. Doh :headache: So you all really made my New Year's night...the show was amazing!!! Thanks guys!!! Happy New Year!

Hi, MeMom and Jill- I started reading about your summer trip sometime in October when I was getting ready to go on my 2nd WDW trip with my sister. I have read the whole thing, come over to this thread, and am now going back to the very beginning to your first trip report. My youngest daughter is around the same age as Brooklyn and she likes to look at the pictures of Brooklyn and Bella. Anyhow, since I seem to now be a MeMom trip report addict, but I have never posted I thought I'd take a moment to say hello. I was also wondering if you let anyone look at the pictures on Trent's facebook, or if that is a secret thing for your DIS friends that have been with you for a long time.

I hope you are having a great time! Make the most of it and then hopefully your memories will carry you over the 6 months until you can visit your happy place again!:)

Hey guys! Back at home - a stack of bills glaring at me from the table, Christmas tree asking to be put back into storage, clothes begging to be washed, cat in need of some attention, empty fridge crying out for food...you are familiar with an after vacation house. This is one of those right now. ::yes::

We did have a good time. The temperature went from cold to cool to warm up and down, but it only rained one day, so there's no complaining from me. The girls got to get in the kiddie pool one day, and we wore gloves, coats, and scarves at other times, so there was definitely a mix. I took pictures of the snow on Main Street on Friday night, and it felt cold enough for it to be real snow.

Our meals at Crystal Palace and Kona were delicious. Jill made two ADR's when she got home for our summer trip, so that helps brighten up the dullness of coming home...
and all of those things I mentioned in paragraph one. ;)
She booked Bella's first trip to Chef Mickey's and our first visit to Boma. We got a menu from there yesterday, and Jill finally gave the nod. Don't know where else we will eat, but those two are in the books. :cool1:

Gotta run and do all this STUFF! See you later this evening.

We really do appreciate all the good thoughts and the interest in the trip. We really do consider you guys friends. To all who followed the live feed from the Polynesian New Year's Eve, my oldest son is really a semi-normal person by day, but when Dave said the followers were asking for entertainment, Trent was the obvious choice. He is not camera shy, and he is absolutely people friendly. At first he wasn't even going to go down to the beach with us, but when I told him he needed to come just for a few minutes and meet our Dis friends, he agreed. Little did he know he would be so involved in the evening.

If you ever get the chance to enjoy NYE fireworks in Disney World in person, it is indeed a treat.

What's the normal snowfall patterns in your area? Here we get possibly one or two of any measure, as in and inch or so. Rarely do we get over three inches. Three inches is a huge deal. We get mostly a few dustings of snow around here.

If you could send me snow every Tuesday at midnight, we could have five Wednesdays off. We have five days that we don't have to make up - they are already built in. We either work them or get them off if it snows, so I'll take Option B! I think I could make it through the winter quite nicely if my schedule was M-T-off-Th-F-off-off. :)

I couldn't make it any further north. I can't function in the cold. I do better in extreme hot than extreme cold.

Tennessee is a good place to live. We get all four seasons, but not extremes, really, so if you ever decide to move south, think about coming this way.

When you asked by text about the family sitting in the grass, I said to the camera that it was us and said, "Hi, Heather!" I was probably too far away for you to hear me. Earlier, I was up at the porch talking with Dave and Kathy for a while, and I didn't realize they had the camera on yet. You could have heard us good then, if you had been on. After he said the camera was on, I moved on out to the grass, and then I took Bella for a walk up and down the beach and pool area for a while.

Maybe Hollie will get some snow. One year when my dad was stationed at Robins AFB, we got a good snowstorm. Every child should know the joy of decorating a snowman, making a snow angel, and coming in with rosy cheeks for hot chocolate and a warm blanket.

After Christmas and New Year, I'm just ready to skip January and February and move right on into spring.

My knee and whole leg did better than in October, but there were a couple of times I overdid it and suffered the consequences. For the most part, we did things in spurts and rested in between, so overall I did very well. I can only look back on one time where I recall severe pain, and that's because I walked around all day and then went out until one o'clock in the morning with Drew to Magic Kingdom. I think I probably wasn't supposed to do that. :laughing:

I'm completely out of groceries right now, so I have to go whether it snows or not. I did stop and get a gallon of milk yesterday. I'm trying to make the boys eat some of this stuff I already have before I go again, but they've pretty much got us down to the bare bones, so I better go on and stock back up today before the big rush tomorrow afternoon.

I don't mind winter and the snow so much as long as temps stay in the 20's. I enjoy going sledding with the boys and love watching them get all dressed up in their snow gear and tromping around in the yard. It's this -10 degree temps with 20-30 below wind chills that I HATE!!! It is just bitter cold right now with no relief in the forecast.

I hate to say it but I hope there is not a snow day Thursday (although it looks like a possibility) I am only subbing 2 days this week and that is one of them and we've already used up our built in snow days so anymore means extending the school year past Memorial Day.

When I was teaching we always told the kids to wear their jammies inside out for a snow day too. Also, you had to have your homework done. If you had homework unfinished - there was always school the next day. My 5th graders used to try interrogating everyone until the found the unlucky student who didn't listen to my warnings.

We have had buses cancelled here for the last 2 days.:sad2: the ground is barely covered here in Sarnia, but 1/2 hr drive down the road they have 4 ft of snow (lake effect sucks). I'm here with my fingers crossed that things get back to normal tomorrow!

so i'm sitting in my bed (since my bedroom is the warmest room in the house), watching TV and eating yummy, authentic main street popcorn out of my "celebrate the season" magic kingdom popcorn bucket!

"how's that," you say???

well, let's start at the beginning.

yesterday memom asked me if i'd gotten a package yet. nope, no package. so today after a very LONG and BORING and SAD day in juvenile court (yeah, one of those days) i come home and check my front porch for any packages. when i open the door, i see this box:

i look at the return address......

at that point i reached into the box and pulled out a big bucket with a blue lid, what upon further inspection turned out to be a christmas-themed disney bucket. so i open the top and pieces of popcorn fly everywhere! (no worries....only a little was lost and the doggies enjoyed that! :laughing: ) after that every time i'd reach in the box, i'd pull out another goodie. by the time i got to like the 4th item i was in tears. i was blubbering like an idiot!!! but they were very HAPPY tears. i was just so absolutely touched that someone would do something so nice for me for no reason at all other than to make me smile. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

how sweet is that???????? i cannot even begin to tell you guys how touched i was! and this DEFINITELY made my day magical....VERY MAGICAL!!! :wizard: it was one of those days and you have no idea how i needed this. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :hug: i wish i could give you guys a real hug.

(in case you don't know, i am taking a disney hiatus right now and didn't go at all in 2009. we are planning on returning in december of this year, which will be 2 years since we were last there in december 2008. but are staying at WL and are SO excited!)

All caught up.

Looks like I missed some crazy action up at the camera. While I was up there I spoke with Dave and waved at the camera , so if anyone saw a crazy lady wave close to the camera about 10:30 or so it was me!

I can attest to the weather- we wore shorts and tees AND heavy winter coats and gloves. Crazy!!!!

In NC it is freezing! Highs at freezing and lows in the teens.

I am also wishing for a snow day on Thursday or Friday - need to check the weather again.

We had some magic on our trip- hardly any lines to deal with, crowd always just behind us and busses that would arrive as we walked up to the bus stop. Bathrooms on the other hand :sad2:

Can't wait to hear all about your adventure. :cheer2:
