For any of you cruising the western itinerary in September or October:
The Western Union Schooner Sail excursions will probably not be offered in Key West. The Western Schooner (according to their website) is not in Key West at that time and the business is closed for two months.

Thought this might help people in case they were considering the sail or the sunset sail.

Anyone else have info on this???

Anyone else hear about this yet?
Anyone try to book it for their September sailing??

Thanks!

Yes, I went to the website and saw the same information. When I booked my other excursions today, I informed the DCL rep of that information. He stated that he was not aware of it, and that they had a contract with them, so it may just be closed for public use.

Therefore, I was able to book it.

Jul-
That is strange, since what I read is that the boat is in Rhode Island part of the year and the actual boat will not be in Key West. Strange things are afloat!!

Uuum - thanks for the scoop. Let me call the DCL line again and find out what a different cast member says. What the heck, I will call Western Union myself.

I will fill you in.

Thanks for the info

Hello,

I sent an email - no one emailed me back - uuuummm. So I called Western Union Schooner. There is no cruise for the Months of Sept and Oct.

In addition, DCL received confirmation of this, today.

So no sunset cruise for me. <Saving Money>

Take Care

So if we already 'booked' this excursion, does it just get canceled and we find that out on the ship? Bummer! We were really looking forward to this!

I already booked the first sailing! Oh well! I am sure we can find plenty to do.
Thanks for the heads up. At least we won't be disappointed when we find out our excursion has been canceled.

Thanks for calling Jul! I am happy to know I was not given false info. But I would have like to sail.
Maybe next time!
