The codes are out, as reported on the Resorts Board, and was wondering if anyone is taking advantage of them for DISCon???? I'd really want to stay at Swolphin but there are some great rates for like Yacht and Beach Club Water View that I'm not so sure I'd want to pass up......so I've emailed my roomie and asked her opinion....

Anyone else think they might take advantage of these rates??? Or already were booked and are "rebooking" to get the great rates?

I was looking this morning and some of those rates look pretty good. I hope that Pete is able to release the convention rates soon so that I can decide where I want to stay.

I'm already staying at the Swolphin from the 29th of November through the 10th of December. Now I'm trying to decide between the Wilderness Lodge, POFQ and the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the last four days.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed Chris. I'm already booked at the YC. So I'm just hoping that my DU agent can get a better rate. I understand from the Resorts Board that AP rates are coming out next week and may be better than the codes that came out today.

We shall see !!!!

I really hope Pete posts the rates for the Swolphin soon. Those posted rates are awfully tempting! :smooth: And with the AP rates coming out next week, I don't know if I'll be able to resist. ;)

If I didn't have my room already (using DVC points), I think I'd be jumping on these myself. It's hard to pass up a good deal like this. :)
Steve, my vote is for AK Lodge! That place is totally incredible! :)
Chris, I had a YC water view last year for DIS-CON. It was the most wonderful room and it made my time there evern that much better!! I went to sleep each night with the Boardwalk as my nightlight. How much better does it get? :D :D :D

I'll be staying at the Dolphin Resort for my whole stay. I like the way my christmas lights look on the balcony...lol.

Steve, the Animal Kingdom does look beautiful. I only saw it briefly for the Boma DIS-meet. Frank stayed there last year, and he could probably give you some insights.

Well my DU agent Misti did it again :bounce: :bounce: She got me a wonderful rate at YC Concierge. She saved me $611.84 off my DC rate. I'm soooo excited.

Barb.....I know just what you're talking about. From my bed at the YC last year, I could see all of Boardwalk and the Eiffel Tower in Epcot. LOL... the first morning I woke up; in my sleepiness, I thought I was in Paris.

I've requested the same room this year. Keeping my fingers crossed for room 5161.

During one of my 5 or 6 adventures to Walt Disney World last year, I got to stay at the AKL Savannah View for a really good price. It was really cool to wake up and see the animals grazing right below the balcony. Have decided to do the Wilderness Lodge this time around. I'm feeling rustic.

Just a note.....I called CRO RE:new code rates during the Dis-Con II. One of the nicest reservationists informed me AP rates will be out July 22. I was even given the AP rate for BWI --standard view ---164.00 per night. Can't remember but I think that was without taxes. It still beats the 162.50 senior rate at Swan. The added resort fee brings total 170.50 plus tax for night. (191.00). Hope this is of information to the AP attendees. My DH and I will get getting AP's as we have decided to spend a little over 3 weeks at FW during the winter months. I hate the drive from Washington State----but oh the rewards. See you at the Dis. PattyN P.S. I'm keeping my ressies for the Swan as I'm sure the convention rate will beat even the AP rate.

Hi all,

Yes, I know you all thought I fell off the face of the cyber earth...

But I plan on being at DISCON so I took advantage of the codes today. The plan is now December 2 to 8 at the Dolphin for the actual DISCON events which I was able to book at the government rate, and then move to the Animal Kingdom Lodge Savannah View for December 9 - 12 booked at the incredible code rate today.

I just fell in love with AKL last February. If I have a laughing place AKL is it. Actually I think my laughing place is where ever you all are, but the animals and the wonderful food at AKL just rock my world.

I know you can check rates ect with Dreams but is there a disney web site that will give you a quote also taking into account these new rates or do you have to call them?

Thanks

Emma

Hi Emma,

Anytime I've tried to book a Disney trip online, I am usually quoted the rack rates...in other words the most expensive rate Disney can get. I'd suggest you try to call Central Reservations if you can. Anybody else have a different experience? :D

Ok, here goes my plug for Dreams Unlimited: :)
Dreams will give you the best rate at the time of your reservation and then they will continue to monitor that reservation and make sure that you get the best rate right up until just before you leave for your trip. (Don't forget, you don't have to commit to the quote if you don't want it.) So if you're quoted an AP or special discount now, there may be something better come up later, Dreams will pick that up. They'll email you and let you know they got you an even better deal. They've done it for me every time I've used them, including my cruise! Emma, if you want more info, feel free to email or PM me anytime. :)

Hi, Taryn! It's so nice to see you here! We've missed you. :) :D

Ah, I forgot about using Dreams.....I'm so used to booking myself! My confirmation arrived for the Polynesian today and I was surprised by it...I had forgotten I had called and made the reservation.

The cm at cro was great....checked the AP rate that would have come out today and we found that the code rate was better....$179 + tax for garden view.

We wanted to be right on the monorail for MVMCP on the 8th!

I'm using 2 different code rates (general code and AP rate) for my split stay between the Poly and the YC. I booked through DISavers, and it's worked great. I'm thrilled to be saving so much on my ressies!
