I received my confirmation letter today which contains this info:

"In conjunction with the event there are now Garden view rooms available at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The room rate is $222 per night including tax. This room package also includes one special surprise gift per room."

Must be a great surprise gift -- the room rate isn't that great.

Any info on the event or better yet pictures of the pins? I hope mine is in the mail when I get home.

This morning I reserved 3 nights (Oct. 30 - Nov. 2) at the Wilderness Lodge, courtyard view, for $176 a night including tax. Since that's our favorite place to stay anyway, we'll certainly be keeping those ressies and not switching to the Contemporary!

I figure they'll have to get us back to the resort somehow when the event is over. I imagine it would be easier for Disney if we all stayed at the same place! I just hope the "surprise" isn't one I'll miss too much. Let's see, the price difference would be about $150 for the three nights. Think the surprise will be worth that much? :)

Okay, I'm thinking as I'm typing, maybe stay the 30th at the Contemp. and then switch to WL? Oh well, here we go again . . . . . . . . .

I absolutely hadn't thought about the transportation thing after the event ends at midnight! I guess with 999 people (or however many there REALLY are attending) they would have to run buses to all of the resorts - since most people would probably be pretty spread out.

Despite all of the uncertainty, I am really excited about this event. I just hope I get to the mailbox before DH, since this is an anniversary surprise for him!

There were no pictures of any of the merchandise in the letter.

I believe that the transportation will probably be handled like it was at the AP AK event back in May. They ran a few buses that each went to approx. 4 resorts.

I kinda wanted to stay at a Monorail resort for this event, but I couldn't talk my 2 friends that are going into paying the extra $$.

I got mine too. No pictures of anything though. :(

I also booked our rooms at the Cont Resort. Couldn't get the code or AP rate for CSR so I had to make a switch but it may work out in the end since we will be going to the Happy Haunts and MNSSHP.

Do we have to attempt to pre-order stuff? Maybe they don't mention it - I have not gotten mine yet. I am staying with a friend, so I guess that's the cheapest route.:) We are hoping to do MNSSHP too.

No preordering yet. The letter simply gives your confirmation number, says you have until September 30 to cancel or change a name on your reservation, and gives the information about the Contemp. for $222 with a surprise gift.. You have to fax or mail that letter back to get the room.

Someone on Doombuggies.com noted that when Disney made the same hotel/git offer for the HMH at DL the gift was a CD. If that's how the gift runs, I'll stay at the WL, thank you very much!
