I'm making reservations today for a trip to WDW in July, and haven't taken my trip to WDW in January yet.

So...do you guys think it feels kind of weird to make new reservations for a trip before you take your planned trip?

Not at all. I will have 2 more trips booked before I take my first one.

You'll get used to it.

actually, i thought that was normal. weird to us would be having less than 2 trips planned at any given time :confused3

Actually, I'm a little surprised we've avoided it this long.

Keep in mind...we have had WDW and Hilton Head scheduled at the same time, just not 2 trips to WDW.

:cool1:

January will be our 1st trip to AKV.

July will be Beach Club and maybe? Wilderness Lodge.

By next year...I will have to return to my beloved Boardwalk Villas.

(One day...I will save enough points to get a 1 bedroom at BLT!)

No, on the contrary, what would feel wierd is if I did NOT have another trip scheduled by the time I'm on a current one.

I agree with the majority of those already on this thread...to not have 1 or 2 additional trips 'in the barrel' would be weird for me. As of right now, I have planned an booked 2 trips for us in 2010 and 2 trips for 2011.

That's what makes getting up and going to work everyday worth it...:cool1:

Right now, we have 5 (but one is just a single night pre-cruise) DVC trips booked for 2010. We still have 2 more to book, one for a December weekend for our pre-Christmas trip, and the last for NYE week trip!

Not at all. We have two WDW and one HHI trip currently booked. Unfortunately we don't have tons of points, but are borrowing b/c we have APs this year and want to get the most out of them. This is also our year to go to HHI since we only have 50 HHI pts, so we have to bank and borrow every three years to book at 11m out there.
Sadly after this year we have to take a little break for our points to replenish.

No, not at all!

I do it all the time. It's great!:thumbsup2

We go twice a year (March and Aug). Since I'm booking 11 mths in advance, I book our Aug trip before we go in March and book our next year's March trip before we go in our Aug trip!:cool1: I love it. It keeps the vacation flow going. I am in contant planning mode!:cool1::cool1:

I always notice that a lot of people have more than one trip countdown in their signatures (mine included). So, it's not unusual at all.

Not at all. We have 3 booked, and looking at 2 more - just waiting on the 11 month window right now...

Think that is weird, we went to Vero Beach last summer and are going again this year and haven't actually stayed at WDW since June 2008 and may not be going to the world again until 2011!:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Booked our Dec trip last Nov before our March trip.

Booked our Oct 2010 trip while at OKW 2 weeks ago.

Isn't that what we are suppose to do?????:confused3

If you think that's weird...

We will be the only Alabamians at Disney World instead of Disneyland during the 1st week of January.

Here's to the ESPN club! :thumbsup2

Can anybody explain the views at the Beach Club Villas for me?

with 11 month windows we do it all the time. We have the next three booked now.

there aren't different view categories at beach club villas. Some rooms look out over the quiet pool. Some look towards the beach club. Some look towards the "woods" between the beach club and epcot - the road that goes around the circle between beach club and boardwalk is out there also. Some of the higher ones can see some of the future world buildings in epcot, some can see some of illuminations, some more than others. BCV is a pretty small resort. The quiet pool is on one side of the building, the other side is towards epcot / "the woods" (it isn't really woods, but that is the impression). There is a bit of "lawn" on the epcot side, and some view that and a concrete egg shape that I can only figure is a place for toddlers to race on.

Congratulations on making your second reservation. I think that only newbies like us are amazed by this DVC standard of making more reservations before you take a trip. We joined the DVC in May and now have two reservations pending for 2010. And looks like we will continue to have two reservations pending for years to come.

The Cast Member at Member Services yesterday asked if I were a Bama or Auburn fan. He seemed keenly aware that as an Alabamian...I would be interested in football. I bet they've had a lot of last minute ressies for fans of both teams.

I just changed the name of my thread.

DVC milestone...sounded like DVC got its 500k member, or had more points for sell than ever...5 years of J. Lewis.

It definitely sounded much more monumental than Mickey'sApprentice having 2 reservations made for Walt Disney World at the same time. (Although, with our 100 point contract and love for Hilton Head...that is quite the milestone.)

This is an exciting day for us! We are now in the single digit dance for Animal Kingdom Lodge, and our co-travelers landed in Orlando last night!

We are traveling with a very good friend of mine from college and her family. They live in Alaska, and are spending Christmas with her family in Florida before going to Walt Disney World.

I will be booking my Dec 2010 trip in about 2 weeks, just waiting for the 11 month window. We haven't yet taken our March 2010 trip, so I will soon have two trips booked. And then a few months after that, I will be booking our Spring 2011 trip and I already have a short DCL Dream cruise booked for Nov 2011! I will be using our previously-purchased AP for the Dec 2010, Spring 2011, and Nov 2011 trips. After all of that, we will probably only be taking one trip per year. I'm going to have DVC withdrawl!!!

I feel awful if I leave after one trip without having the next trip reserved. Since joining DVC I've only done it once and hated the feeling as I left. Right now we've got 3 trips reserved, 2 at WDW and next Thanksgiving at HHI.

This is a first for me too..we just got back from WDW on 12/12, we have a Disney Cruise booked for 2/2011, are going to Disneyland in Feb, are in the planning stages for a trip to WDW this summer and I just booked a Thanksgiving trip back to SSR today!:cool1:

I have a folder to keep all of my trips organized...having been a travel agent before I had kids I LOVE having mutliple trips to look forward to!

everytime i leave, i whisper we'll be back soon, rather than good-bye.
that helps tide me over until the next trip .(tho i found even three months between trips seems like an eternity....:sad1:)

I've been ending my emails to our travelling friends with...

See Ya Real Soon!

(That's from the sign off of the Mickey Mouse Club!)

I'm really excited about seeing our friends.

No. We have 4 trips booked. We have a 5 night DVC stay in March. A 3 night DVC stay in August followed by a 5 night DCL cruise. And we have an Alaskan cruise planned for 2011. We also know that we plan on a Dream cruise in 2012. I cannot imagine what it would be like not to have future plans even if one hasn't been completed yet. It gives us something to look forward to so even when one trip is done, there are still others to look forward to.

As of last Halloween we had three trips planned - Halloween, Spring Break and July 4th.

Seems normal to me and we feel lots better on the plane going home if we know were are coming back. There are over 100,000 other DVC families out there - you have to plan ahead expecially at key times of the year.

I think it's great to have two trips planned. We want to stay at a non-home resort so we have to wait for the 7 month window. Looking forward to the days after the children have moved out, we have retired, and my job can be to plan trips.

My DBF & I are going in 23 days and he's treating me to 8 days @ the Poly:lovestruc

Then 5 weeks later were going back, staying @ Kidani and I'm walking the Princess Half Marathon:bride:

Then going back 12/10, and most likely staying @ SSR and walking the Orlando Half Marathon with friends.:yay:

Yes, I agree. When I get home from January's trip, we won't have any planned nor, for the first time in a decade, will I have an open annual pass.:sad2:
