I usually love snow- love the winter weather. BUT NOT THIS TIME!!
We just spent from 7am until 4pm at Philly airport trying to get to Indianapolis for my son's graduation from Purdue. Our flight (and all others) was finally canceled at 4pm- so we will miss his graduation. :sad1:
The ceremony is at 9:30am, and the first flight out in the morning doesn't get to Indy until 9:30 (assuming there are no delays- but we know there will be). And Indy is still 60-90 minutes away from Purdue.
I am just so very, very sad tonight. And he is almost as sad. It's hard to hear your 22 yr old son be so sad- and we both completely understand this is out of all our control.
The consolation is that his girlfriend flew out mid-week- so at least one person will be there to see him graduate. And she will be taking pictures for us- so I will at least see the photos.
On the positive side- I have never seen a more friendly, compassionate and communicative US Air team as we had today! The gate attendant, our crew chief and our pilot were all AMAZING! I will be writing a letter to praise their efforts. Now, the woman at the tickets counter after we got canceled is another story (and another letter) altogether! She was everything I have come to expect from USAir in Philadelphia- surly, doesn't speak above a mumble, no interest or compassion. And after 20 minutes of moving in slow motion- no resolution either. We have to wait until Monday to try and get our refunds.
I am tired of crying- I just needed to vent.
Thanks for listening... :sad1:
