I haven’t been here for some months, but in the past my teenage daughter and I have spent many happy breaks at DLP, leaving the lads - DH and DS (now 21) at home. We had annual passes which expired last April and I now realise there was a reason for us not being able to renew them during our last trip in February 2009

The year has not been kind to us; towards the end of June I received the shocking news that I had CNS Lymphoma. Holidays were definitely off limits for a while as I had to endure high dose Chemotherapy, the lymphoma was very aggressive and needed immediate treatment, the good news is that there has been a good response an the outlook appears positive. I have now started Radiotherapy and this will finish in January :cheer2:

The one thing that got me through all those months of treatment was the plan that once it was over I wanted to take the family, yes DH and DS as well, to Disneyland Paris to stay in the DLH – DD and I are determined to show DH and DS a good time! :dance3:

Now that there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, I set about considering dates. DD is now at college, so we are still tied to school holidays, I looked at Easter but May half term was coming out cheaper. Also she wanted to go after her birthday, as she will be 18 and wants to take DS to Hurricanes :dancer:

Then the other day I spotted that the week after May half term her college have inset days, and that week the offer of an extra night free is up for grabs, also Eurostar was coming out pretty cheap. I called the college to confirm this, and they said she might have exams, so the next step was for DD to check with her tutors, but we were in the clear! Yesterday I saw a doctor to discuss how treatment was going, I mentioned my plans and asked how soon it was acceptable to book a holiday, she said, “Book it!” and I always do what I am advised to by the medical profession! :worship:

So, our family holiday is now booked for next June, and yes, we are staying in the Disneyland Hotel, just as I planned!

It feels so good to be back here :goodvibes,

Annette sorry you have had such a hard time. The chemo must have been tough but I'm glad there is light at the tunnel and the doctor has prescribed DLH therapy for you. Will do wonders I'm sure!

I know, DD have stayed there twice, but not for as many as 4 nights! :cool2:

Once you've stayed there, it's hard to consider anywhere else, really!!

Hope you have a fab fab time!! And congrats with your treatment progressing as planned, now you need to work on the NHS paying for your trip :lmao:

Lots of planning to do now

Good point, what an exciting thought! We haven't gone for the half board option as it would have been an extra £700, which I worked out to be £140 a day, plus if we eat in table service restaurants then I can get my shareholders discount :thumbsup2

No idea what will be on at that time either, parades, shows, etc Will have to see nearer the time. Anyone know if Stitch Live is to continue? :confused3
