I just got off the phone with CRO and am really frustrated. The problem seems to be that we are a party of 5. I was told that deluxe rooms at WL were not available for this code at all, and the best price they could give me at AKL would be $254 per night. They said only deluxe rooms are now savannah, standard rooms have been reconfigured to accomodate only 4.

Right now I am holding a ressies at POR for a trundle room at $114, but I know everyone is going to be really disappointed. I was willing to spend a little bit more, but not more than doulble!!!

:( :( :(

Is there an option for 5 other than a deluxe? What about a rollaway? Anybody know??????????

We were 5 and stayed at POR with a trundle bed.

Worked out great. Trundle Beds are in the Alligator Bayou section

lizzie64,

Thanks for the encouragement, and I'm sure your right. It will work out just fine. We just had our hearts set on WL or AKL.

Do you have any suggestions as far as location requests in Alligator Bayou?

The standard rooms (regardless of view) at AKL are pretty small & they do only hold 4, which is a problem for a lot of families. Only the deluxe savannah view rooms sleep 5. It's too bad they don't have standard view, deluxe rooms.

There isn't really room in the AKL standard size rooms for a rollaway, and I"m sure it would be a firecode violation.

Are you interested in any of the Epcot resorts?

Snowmouse,

We were waterview and I believe it was building 14 or 15. I know about AKL. We're booked there for May. But, POR was a spectacularly beautiful resort. We loved it.

I have to book 2 rooms at AKL, so I'm praying for a good discount. Have you thought about an AP. I'll probably be buying one. We're staying for 10 days so an AP is worth it for us. So between AP and codes I'm hoping to get one of these 179 rates

Gillian,

Thanks for the reply. I'm a little confused about the literature I received from Disney (last week) with my video that says AKL has standard rooms for 5. Any thoughts??

Yes, I would be interested in the Epcot area. We've stayed at both YC and Swan, but didn't see any discounts there for my October time frame.

lizzie 64,

I will try the AP rate when those come out next week, maybe those will have different restrictions on the deluxes. Good luck on your AKL rooms!

Are 3 of your party children? Some deluxe resorts have day beds that can accommodate a small 5th person in a regular room (BC, Poly, etc.) I recieved discounts with the codes at both WL and AKL this morning but these were for regular rooms, not deluxe. My rates were $159 for WL Courtyard and $179 for AKL Savannah. These are during October which is Regular season rather than Value season in November which would be even less.

Yes, we are 2 adults and 3 children, so the daybed would be great. I, too, am looking for regular season (Oct 27 arrival), but have not seen anything out there for the other deluxes in this season catagory.

Have you thought about the cabins at Ft. Wilderness? You can sleep 5 in the cabins. I just got off the phone with CRO and saved $600 on my 10 night December stay at the cabins. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: We are very excited! I think the total with tax came to about $154 per night. We are checking in on December 18 and leaving on the 28. Because we check in during value season, we keep that rate.

tinkerbelle30,

I suspect that you got garden view concierge. The rate you gave is $229 plus tax and $229 is what the code should give for garden view concierge. I'd double-check if I were you. (BUT I'd also be thrilled with garden view concierge at that rate!) If view is critical you can very likely get ordinary lagoon view for the same rate.

WL was included in the discount, but I believe the available rooms sold out quickly. I tried to change my room only ressie with the CKO discount, but woodsview (which I had reserved) were unavailable for my dates (11/22-29). I was able to book a courtyard view for $154/night total and still saved $333 for 7 nights. Good luck!

We are a party of 6. We are splitting our stay between OKW and the cabins. The price we are paying for the cabin is 159.00 tax included for Oct. My children are so exceited about staying at FW and so am I for the great rate we got.
Good luck, Darlene

Was that for a regular or deluxe (sleeps up to 5) room?

Snowmouse, it looks like the codes will give YC discounts for your time frame. Try calling CRO & asking. I haven't read all the new code threads, but usually a code like these will give you discounts at a bunch of different resorts. YC, BC or BWI will sleep 5 with a daybed (most rooms have them, just make sure you request it).

The fort wilderness cabins sound really nice, but the campground is further from the action than the other resorts & you may feel a bit isolated. There's more info over on the camping board. We're going to try them soon!

I just called CRO again and inquired about epcot area rates. They said both YC and BC were sold out, found a room at BWI but the rate was $276. Obviously, am staying with my rate at POR for the moment.

Thought I'd try to call DU and see what they could come up with. I'm looking for the DU phone number if anyone has it.

Otherwise, I'm still hoping for a better AP rate when those come out. This having 3 kids thing is really messing up my discounts. Why didn't we plan that better!!! haha;)

Snowmouse,

You're too funny. I wish I had realized that a 4th child would throw me into 2 rooms. HA HA

Last year I got away with POR because he was in a crib and that was allowed. So it was the trundle bed and the crib in a room. But hey we managed.

Not so now.

Oh well, Disney should offer birth control recommendations for those of us with large families

Snowmouse,

I laughed at why didn't we plan better statement. When we were considering having a 3rd child, my boys' pediatrician said that if he would have known then what he knows now, he would have really contemplated the 3rd child. He said his biggest complaint was waiting longer for tables in restaurants and having to buy bigger vehicles. This was said very tongue-in-cheek, so I hope nobody gets upset with me.

Needless to say, my DH is a terrible "waiter" since he has no patience. We decided it would add too much stress to his life to add another child to our household.

Do Poly regular rooms hold 5? Maybe you could get a room there if that is the case. I am going in regular season and booked a room there for $220, gardenview. That was taxes included.

I'll have to agree with you all on the third child thing. It does make life interesting sometimes.

As for WDW accomodations, I just made my reservation for two rooms at All Stars. I would rather be at PO-R but my husband doesn't want to stuff us all into one room.

Snowmouse, what about Poly or Grand F? The person I spoke to said the code was good for all resorts.

Also, I don't think DU has a phone number - strictly web based.

The Deluxe rooms at AKL and WL aren't usually discounted as there are only a handful of them and are considered junior suites.
Suites in general aren't usually discounted.

Any of the other Deluxes are available with the discount and will sleep 5. I was able to get the Polynesian for a few of my clients in November for $199 including the tax.
