A new DVC ??? (I wish!)

I just heard on 1010 WINS radio in NYC (the largest news radio station audience here) that Disney is looking into making some kind of development in Coney Island. The report said that Disney needed to find a piece of land big enough for their needs.

Might this be the newest DVC resort??? (I doubt it.)

I actually posted this morning too. I don't see my thread, don't know where it went. I heard the same thing on Channel 5 10:00 pm news. It's supposed to be a surprise. Perhaps a ride (I thought of DVC too). They were reviewing/looking for space large enough. Locals were not too happy. Mickey Mouse and Astroland - I don't think so either. That's just my opinion.

There is a NY Times article from today's paper posted with information about a posible Disney project.

This might be good because so many folks from New York and New Jersey vacation in Florida. I grew up in NJ and I LOVE all the East Coast folks I meet in Orlando. All those great accents make me misty! Anyhow, all those Disney fans could get a mini-MOUSE charge before their big trips south :D

They were talking about it on Comedy Central on the Daily News Show (?). Perhaps they would include a DVC resort there. Wouldn't that be great.

Back when DVC was expanding beyond WDW (VB & HH) they were planning a DVC in the City. I even saw drawings posted on this site. But because of the "dismal sales of VB & HH" :) the idea was scrapped along with Newport Beach, CA site.
