Does anyone what new resorts are in the pipeline for DVC? I read somewhere that Disney was dissatisfied with HH from the standpoint of weather and would probably look for a new location outside Florida that had better weather. Is there any truth to this? Thanks for your help. <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

Personally, I don't think so. I believe that HH and VB have been so terribly dissapointing in sales that there will never, ever be another DVC resort off WDW property.

I still think it would be a good idea for DVC to build a resort in a year round place like the Catskills or the Poconos. These areas do tend to have more year round activities available.

HH doesn't really have much to do for about 6 months out of the year. SC is too seasonal. At least in the Northeast you would have Fall Foliage and Winter sports like skiing, which HH does not have.

Hopefully they will realize that they just need to be smarter about where they are building their resorts and build something in the Northeast. I know I would add on there in a heartbeat and take my chances at the 7 mo mark.

Gosh, I wish they would build a DVC at the California Disney. That would be super!!!

Agreed, a Disneyland DVC would be great.

Several years ago Disney Vacation Development pulled the plug on: the announced Newport Coast, California, DVC resort
the unannounced (but leaked) NYC "E Walk" DVC resort
the unannounced (but leaked) Beaver Creek, Colorado, DVC resortAnd who knows what other DVC resorts were in the works!

It appears that Disney decided to cede the timeshare resort business to lodging companies such as Marriott, Starwood, Hilton, Hyatt, and Cendant.

Additional DVC resorts at WDW make sense. Disney already owns plenty of undeveloped land. Disney is in a great position to market to WDW theme park guests and resort hotel guests. And the DVC owners who come every year spend money on Disney parks, dining, merchandise, and recreation.

Disney doesn't have the same business advantages elsewhere.

While a DVC resort at the Disneyland Resort in California would appear to offer the same business advantages, the problem is the lack of land at the Disneyland Resort.

Anything's possible, but I wouldn't count on any more DVC resorts outside of WDW.
