We're new to this board and new to DVC. It's great to find out about so many things from everyone--what great insight and perspectives.


I believe that we've closed on BCV and VB. However, we've not heard anything more from DVC. Is this typical? Do you receive any notification in the mail, a gift or anything indicating that it's official and you're being "welcomed home?" When do your dues start being taken out if you're on the monthly plan? Also, is any portion of your dues tax-deductible (i.e., property tax)?

You get a package with all kinds of stuff and a guide book. We got a cool canvas bag with all of the stuff in it, you will probably get something else. Other will be able to go into detail more. Later, you will get your member cards and quarterly you will get a newsletter.

Welcome to the disboard and contragulations and welcome home. My guide told me she would call as soon as we closed too on our add-on at BCV. We closed earlier than expected which she said was possible. I also received two phone calls from Member Administration asking me if I had any questions about my recent add-on. I thought this was unusual. Anyway, we closed last Wed. and did not hear from our guide. I am expected to close too either 7/24 or 7/31 for our OKW add-on. I guess I will find out on my own if it happened since she will not be calling. Enjoy and looking forward to reading your reports.:D

Do you get the lithos if you add on at BCV?? Anyone know??

With our original purchase at HH, we received the litho, a very nice backpack and two DVC pens.
With our add-on at BCV, we received the litho. The BCV add-on was completed in June and our first month's dues will be debited from our account in August.

In closing at BCV and an add-on at HHI, we received a litho for each and a DVC backpack.

We did 2 separate add-ons at VB in Jan of this year for 50 and 60 pts, we got the same gifts for each add-on(Litho and pens). We only got the backpack when we bought our OKW pts (300)

Update to original post:

We received a letter from DVC today indicating that we did indeed close on both properties. Unfortunately, the dues start on one of them (VB). I was surprised to see that they prorate for 313 days for the 2002 use year when we just closed. Guess I'll have to call to find out why. I did notice on the dues statement that they do separate the property tax. I assume for deductibility purposes???

Thanks for welcoming us . . . I thought that DVC might do that in some creative way other than the form letter and dues statement. I must be dreamin' . . . but since it's Disney, I thought it's okay to dream!

Welcome home and welcome to boards. I am also fairly new to boards and can not tell you how helpful everyone has been. I have found a lot of valuable information here. With regards to purchase - I bought 270 points at BCV and only received backpack and litho. I did not receive any pens:confused:

I received a telephone call on Friday from Celeste - our Guide. She called to inform us that we closed!! Woohoo!!
