They pulled the monorails off the track with their special tractor and had to evac one car with ladders. I don't know if I would want to go out the top of the monorail car and down a ladder????

If you are here you may want to check if the monorail is running this morning before heading out.

I just read the news article on the incident. Apparently they were stuck on the monorail from 1 am to 4 am. That would have been a long three hours!

I would not be able to climb out like that either physically or mentally. What a total nightmare.

I could write a good blog post but don't want to be evac'ed from the monorail. Monorails are running now.

I am taking the boat this morning just in case. :). That sounds like a terrifying experience.

I don’t know about terrifying, but aggravating might be an understatement. We are typically exhausted when we leave the parks each day, and usually can't think of anything but getting back home. When the Monorail stops for even 5 minutes, it's very disappointing. I can’t imagine 4 hours

Disney has generously agreed to compensate the inconvenienced passengers with a complimentary small beverage of their choice with their next food purchase of $50 or more....

:rolleyes1

There was a woman on board with a 3 month old baby. Can you imagine!? How the heck is she going to climb out the roof with the baby? Total nightmare. I would have been freaking out from claustrophobia.

I actually think it would be kind of fun. Heights don't bother me and the story would be worth the inconvenience.

Me too, I don't like heights  I'd be scared of falling off the ladder too, my legs would be all wobbley even though I'm sure they would strap you onto something.
I worry about having to exit a ride like this too - even havin to climb out of Splash Mountain would be scary for me :scared1:

yes....i'd have heart failure if i had to be taken off splash mountain..
a few years back, it stopped at almost the top of the big hill....
it's such a sharp angle there...and we were stuck for what seemed like an eternity....i was so worried we'd have to be taken off...i couldn't figure out how i'd manage it without fainting..
but in the end it started going again and we got down the easy way - over the crest of the hill...

I think I would've made the best of it. DS would've fell asleep and stayed asleep:lmao: I would've striked up a conversation with the others on the train....well as long as if they would've wanted to talk to me!! LOL!!!:thumbsup2

The family got walked off the Matterhorn last year through the interior of the mountain. It was fun for our kids to see some of the backstage where mom and dad met, since they hear us talk about it all the time, and not just the show out front.

I would have been kind of cool... as long as the kids were not with us... and I used the bathroom before I left the park.:)

Picture being in the rail car with 30 people all sweating for 3 hours with NO air circulation. Believe me it was not fun!!!

The fire department used what I call a bucket ladder, so for the people that could not go down the ladder they got them onto the platform of this ladder and then lowered it.

We were on the Resort Monorail Saturday night between 5 & 6 pm and it was acting up at that time. It took almost 30 minutes to get from the Contemporary to the TTC.

We would move a little then stop, move a little then stop. We were actually trying to get to the Poly at that time, but we got off at the TTC and walked.

There were several times that the monorail was not working. We were visiting John and Katherine when it quit working. We had to take a bus to the Polynesian. The only inconvenience is that they sent someone out in a "suit" who was supposed to organize and know everything. Unfortunately, she knew nothing. They brought a bus and no matter where you were going you were supposed to get on it. I asked her if we could just wait for a Downtown Disney bus because it goes to the Polynesian, and she couldn't tell me if it did or not. But, she acted like she knew what was going on.

I sure hope they get things working right before the mad holiday rush. It's not going to be good if they don't.
