photo id question

we'll be going on the 7day eastern and I have been told by my TA that my children will need to have a photo id and their KTTW card to reboard the ship after an excursion. Since they have passports does anyone know if I can make a copy of that and use it as a Photo id? I really don't want to worry about losing a passport. Would a Y membership card work? thanks

We just got back from the 4 day Wonder, and only adults 18 and over needed a photo id. We just used our driver's license without any problem. Our kids only needed their KTTW cards.

US citizens only need a picture ID and their KTTW card if they are 18 or older. The kids just need the KTTW! However, everyone in your party needs a certified copy of a birth certificate (the one with a raised seal) when you first board at Port Canaveral.

In addition to my nine year old's passport, I carry a photo id that i can use, when i lock up our passports. I went to the department of transportation, here in Iowa and got him a photo id for about three bucks. I had to take his certified copy of his birth certificate to do this. I like the idea of having pictures of him, just in case we would get separated. No one likes to think that, but I guess I am a worry wart. I also take a copy of his fingerprints with me when we travel.

They won't need their birth certificates since they have passports. But as the other posters have indicated, the kids under 18 don't need the photo ID's for getting on/off the ship.
