Alright, so school is over - now I just have... three papers, two finals, and one event to throw. (That should be sung to "The Twelve Days of Christmas," just so you know.) I already handed in my last homework assignment that would be due Monday, so I'm ahead with that. :woohoo:

My day today:
Up
Breakfast
Go to bank to get money - (try to get it in 5s)
Head to BBW (find snowflake wallflower for Jennifer)
Work from 10-1
Do something for 4 hours... not sure, but probably something like this:
Go pick up tickets from Museum of Science
Return corporate card to school
Hang around for a bit, maybe have SJRB meeting? Otherwise, study and read.
Back to Museum of Science
Pass out tickets for first show
Pass out tickets for second show
Go to see second show
Get dinner
Pass out tickets for third show
Go see third show
Head home, avoiding "Honors Study Session" (read: party), at all costs.

Alright, so school is over - now I just have... three papers, two finals, and one event to throw. (That should be sung to "The Twelve Days of Christmas," just so you know.)

You have to add in Term and Exams to get the tune to work right. ;)

Not sure what is on today's list.
I need to get those teacher gifts done and gifts wrapped up that need to be mailed. Still have laundry that needs folding. - You know that Sears commercial where the sales clerk takes the family over the one with the steam wrinkle remover option - yeah, even that wouldn't work on us. :rotfl2:

Enjoy your Friday everyone!!

Working today. It's super duper cold. I don't really want to leave the house, but I need money to pay for those Christmas gifts!

Princess's conference went exactly like she said it would. She's a very sweet girl who needs to work on her handwriting. The teacher  her and called her a role model. She's always participating and trying her hardest. Said whatever we are doing at home, keep it up. She's a good kid and I feel very very proud :upsidedow

Mr. Kitten Britches seems a bit better. He did eat some tuna this morning (and I haven't seen any returns). He seems a bit lethargic, but he hadn't eaten much at all yesterday, so I suppose that's to be expected.

DH is supposed to take down the tree and some decorations. I'm hoping it will put me in the spirit. If it were up to me, I'd just have a small tabletop tree this year. If any at all.

Z2H, I spent a small fortune at B&BW yesterday. Gotta love their sales! (If you see a snowflake wallflower, will you please pick it up for me and I'll paypal you the money, I can't find that one anywhere!)

I hope everyone has a fantabulous Friday!

Friday!

Change of some plans today, as DS is home with the drippy sniffles, and I was awake from 4 a.m. on since the dog kept "needing" to go outside. (But we really think he was chasing some other animal from the yard...)

Kid up and out
Dozed from 7-9 a.m. - try to get back a bit of the missed sleep!
No dog walking - just fetch indoors
Clean kitchen
Swish and swipe
Finish TP gift card holder - only one more to do! - and try to get them in the mail
Banking
Collect more charity thrift shop items - DH is doing a run there tomorrow and we want to fill the minivan - again!
Kids to doctor appts this afternoon - and their seasonal flu shots
Dinner - fried rice and teriyaki ginger chicken sausage
Tonight's activity "Movie, Candy, and Popcorn Night" - kids are super-excited!
Meds and bed

Rebecca - beef cups...please to be sharing...

Well I make 2 different kinds- both are fairly easy:

tonights are Morraccan Beef cups:
I use the recipe for browning the beef from Marakesh(they use it in the Berwat appetizer)-
1 lb ground beef
1 oz coriander
1 oz parsley
1/2 medium diced onion(I use 2 scallions instead)
mix these ingredients and brown beef
then add in :
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon(I use a little more)
pinch ginger
pinch saffron
1 tsp salt
2 eggs(whipped)
1 oz peanut oil (I use whatever cooking oil I have out)

Then I buy the puff pastry cups from the frozen section of the store. I brown them as called for and then add in the filling (hot). After they have the filling I sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and powdered suger.

BBQ Beef Cups

brown ground beef and onion
add BBQ sauce to coat

grease muffin tins

using canned biscuits flatten and stretch a bit and use them to line muffin cups- then add filling into the center of each cup. (I find that if I don't want to do as much work with the bicuits the grands size works best)

Bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes- until biscuits are golden brown

Both are fairly easy- with the Morracan I tend to make up a double or triple recipe and then store it frozen cooked so I can just heat it in the microwave and throw the pastry in the oven for a fast and easy meal. I am out of my frozen stock so I have to make it from scratch which is why I have been putting it off all week.

Ok I just have to share........

So bubba and i are going to a gingerbread house making party tomorrow at my nieces sister in laws house. So what to bring????? My niece is making reindeer brownies that are so yummy! but what about me???? so i sat there when i got home and just could not decide what to bring. i ALWAYS make magic cookie bars for everything. i texted her and she said make you magic stuff. Naaahhh. don't feel like it. how about pumpkin roll she said. Naaaah. just made that for thanksgiving. how about puffed french toast! that's yummy she said. Yea but we are driving an hour away. it will be all soggy and icky by the time we get there. finally she said---- make whatever you want!
so I decided to make my mothers coffee cake. you have never had coffee cake like this. she made the absolute BEST coffee cake in the world. the whole town talks about mrs. c's coffee cake. it's just awesome. so i run it by dh and he says "go for it!" not sure if i can make it as good as she did, but i'll try........
the whole time i'm making it, i'm thinking she would make this with her eyes closed. she would love that i'm making it for the party. so why am i crying??? 'cause i miss her so much right now. it's cooking in the oven and i smell it and i associate that smell with her. darn it.
i really wish i could share it with all of you, because you all listen (well read) to me day after day and have been a constant support for me.
the next time you have a piece of coffee cake think of my mom. i swear i think she invented it. not a holiday went by or really any occasion that she did not make it.
thanks for letting me share that with you.

Did you get a new kitten? Don't spoil him too much. We gave our new kitty can food for a week and then started mixing it with dry. Little stink licks the can food off the dry food. Then dries to snub his nose at the dry stuff.

Holly, your Mom was there as you were making her coffee cake. Tears are a sign of your great love of her. Cry away, we are here for you.

It's Friday, Yippee!!!!!

My to do list:

Put wood in the wood stove

fold a load of laundry
wash dishes that mysteriously showed up in my sink over night
caffeinate
work
go to grocery store for items for tomorrow's crop
Address Christmas cards

No, this is my Meezer, he's a Siamese, he's almost 2 1/2 years old. We used to let them free feed all day long, but he overeats and then gets icky sicky all over the place, so we only give him a little food at a time now. It seemed to have been working, but he must have had a belly ache yesterday. Didn't eat all day. He's a chewer though, so no doubt he got into something he shouldn't have.

That you are the most brilliant, wonderful, kind, generous, perfect child that EVER has graced this good earth.

Why? What else do you think I would have said...?:rotfl:

(The best part is that it is the truth! )

Except the "can't keep her room clean" part...

We've got to figure it out... They are crackin' me up! Today they are watching TV before cleaning their rooms.. I keep nudging them and they won't budge...and keep asking each other.. "Did you hear someone talking to us?".. "nope, not me" "I heard something".. Than DS13 grabs the flash light and asks where the EMF reader is... (I guess we watch tooo much Ghost Hunters in this house!)

If they want to go the Grandpa's for Christmas tomorrow, they best get their rooms cleaned, dusted and swept or we are staying home.. Better yet, they are staying home and DH and I will go have fun!:woohoo:

Nan - how is the nudging working? Laughing about the Ghost Hunters comments. DD and I like that show too.

Tree is up - currently undergoing a lighting check - one strand isn't working. DDs think we need more ornaments - I did not want to dig the xmas boxes out of the storage unit so I went and bought 7 boxes of perfectly coordinated ornaments. DD2 put like 7 on the same low branch! Don't really want to go buy more so hoping the lights will make it look better.

Anyhow, DDs are now decorating plain white gift bags - so why you ask did I buy a whole other bunch?? I don't know. :lmao: got caught up in the sale excitement at Michaels I guess.:headache: Will return them. Need some kind of tree skirt. And bows. I want a bag of all gold ones. No can findie.

DH is going out of town on Sunday :sad2::headache:wonder when I am going to get to finish my Holiday Shopping?? And when we are actually going to get to go together.

Alright - have to find something to wear to dinner tonight. Oh and a wedding next weekend. DH cannot understand why I cannot try on clothes with my DD2 screaming in the dressing room. Thinking I am just going to wear the nice olive green velour sweat suit I bought myself for Christmas from my family.:lmao: That's OK right!?

If you go with the green valour suit for the wedding, you could dress it up with gold strappy shoes and gold jewelry. You would be comfie and will match all the holiday decorations. :rotfl2:
