I don't think this is the kind of otter spotting Des1954 or Debbie as we know her was looking for. This one wandered across U.S. 98 in Perry this morning and will be it's last trip. I kept it a little away as you can see in case it came back to life. You ought to see the teeth these things have.

I wasn't the one who hit him. The client I was testing for today did it. I'm not disclosing his name because I'm afraid Debbie will seek revenge. Now I know how Wynotta will look when I get a couple rounds off thru Debbie's windshield lol.

That's one of my favorite videos, Bob.
DONNIE!!!! YOU'RE MEAN!!!
I recently learned otters live in the lake our development is situated on. I saw a pair "dashing" across the street one night as I was coming home. They ran down the community boat ramp and into the lake. I think they were trying to come over to meet Wynottah. She can be a shameless hussy sometimes!

Ahhhhhhhhh my favorite time of day has arrived when I get to see Debbie's reaction lol. I have more close up pics if you'd like to see.
I really did feel sorry for the ol boy or girl, whatever it is. I hate to see animals crossing roads and getting smashed. I saw a momma bear get hit a couple years ago and standing behind her was 2 cubs wondering what to do.

Donnie,
If the critter is still fresh here is a great road kill recipe. Just add 3 cups of cubed Otter meat.:scared1:
Louisiana River Otter Hot Root Soup
3 Double pawfuls of small red potatoes, chopped into eighths
**3 capfuls of Zatarain’s concentrated shrimp and crab boil
1 stick of butter or oleo
1 red bell pepper, chopped small
1 green bell pepper, chopped small
3 stalks of celery, chopped small
3-5 green onions, chopped small
3 3-fingered pinches of minced garlic
3 small scoops of flour (my scoop is about 1/4 cup)
hot tap water
3 Dbl pawfuls of zucchini, halved and chopped
2-3 cans of stewed tomatoes (I used Del Monte “cajun style”)
2-3 cups of the water the potatoes were boiled in
3 pawfuls of each of the following:
ground black pepper
ground red pepper or cayenne
chili powder
paprika
“Nature’s Season” by Morton or other salt blend
