Did you watch? I think it is the best new Christmas special in a very long time. That said, I still think they missed the mark, the story was very abbreviated, I think it should have been more of a Christmas epic like Rudolf.

IT was FUN.

I really enjoyed it. I agree that they could easily have made it into an hour show.

It was totally tinsel!!!! :happytv: Loved it, but you are right, it could have had so much more to the story.

I was hooked the minute I heard Dave Foley's voice. :thumbsup2

Great concept. But like you said, too short...and too many commercials (or maybe the commercials weren't spaced well, cause they seemed like they were in awkward places).

Absolutely loved it! John Lasseter is DA MAN! Sure to be a classic, but I totally agree, way too short, needed more story. I was actually thinking they really could have made it into an awesome movie for the theaters.

I'm sorry now that I didn't get the Prep & Landing plush elves I saw at the Disney Store last week when all the toys were buy one get one free. Just might go tomorrow and get them anyway.

I agree that it was too short. I really liked the characters and wanted to know more about them.

:confused3 We have to wait until NEXT week to see Prep and Landing. First Obama's speech pre-empts it and tonight our local ABC affiliate had a local Christmas special on. With all the hype and commercials, our children were really looking forward to it. They have been sooooooooo patient. Does anyone know if it is online yet? I can only find the trailers.

:thumbsup2 Glad to hear it was good. We can't wait to see it for ourselves. :happytv:

I was trying really hard to watch, but at the time of watching, my stepson and his wife arrived and announced they are having a BOY in April. It was hard to watch and participate in the festivities of a new baby. I'm sorta gonna be a grandma. I got the gist of the show, but I didn't hear all the cool one-liners!

I would love for them to replay it one more time. I'd lock the door and shut off the phone!

I agree with CinderellsSister.

It was totally tinsel.

I enjoyed it alot, I agree with previous posts that it was to short, and the story seemed a little stilted because of it. I DVR'd and I am going to watch it again tonight with my wife. I think it opened up the possibility of plenty more editions.

Good stuff .. too short though, I wonder if it was originally a longer concept and it was trimmed to 1/2 hour, it seemed that the editing was rough.

Does anyone else think that Wayne looked like he was modeled after Paul Giamatti? I could see him doing a live action version of this.

And the show is slated to repeat Dec 16 and 24.

Yep, totally tinsel! BUT...... if you watched the trailers, you basically saw the whole show. We made the mistake of watching the trailers and the behind the scene clips on the Disney site a few days ago, so it kinda spoiled it for us when we realized we had already seen all of the "good stuff" in the trailers. There was nothing new to see (except the Thrasher bit, that was funny;)). I really enjoyed it though and agree that it could have easily been made into a longer show. Loved the elf-tech gadgets! We DVR'd the show and watched it again today - this time I was trying to read the inscriptions on the coffee/egg nog cups...I only caught Wayne's "It's NOG or Never" (at least I think that's what it said).

You can also stream it online at abc.com (http://abc.go.com/watch/prep-and-landing/243219/243629/prep-amp-landing) (you will have to install a plug-in first if you don't already have it installed). They even have a version with commentary by Wayne, Lanny, and Thrasher.

There's a good article with background information on Prep & Landing here (http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2009/12/08/disney-prep-landing-the-making-of-a-modern-christmas-classic.aspx).

I also REALLY liked it. You're all right, it could have been an hour special, I feel there was room there to make it a longer story.

But it was very cute!!

I thought it was cute too, but agree, there could (should) have developed the story and character for another half hour.

I'm sooo glad they didn't rehash the "is santa real' storyline, but came up with something fresh. Too many "Real?" storylines when I was a kid was the biggest tipoff that indeed Santa wasn't real..along the lines of the Shakespeare line about protesting too much.

It seems to me there is indeed room to create further stories about these characters.

Loved it. Recorded it. Will watch it again. :)

There hasn't been a new Christmas special released in a long time that I actually enjoyed. (Shrek's being the only recent one).

The whole family thoroughly enjoyed this one, however, I agree with another poster, in that it could have easily been an hour show!

Edit - Oh, BTW, does anyone else feel the need for a Thrasher doll this Christmas season? I NEED one of those...way too cool! :cool1:

I just don't understand the plot: why Santa didn't have to stop at any other houses in the neighborhood? aren't there no other kids around?

Could it be that they are planning on doing MORE stories? (she says hopefully...)

I really enjoyed it-the creativity was at the highest level, which is what we've all come to expect from the Lassiter team. You could almost envision the brainstorming sessions as you were watching the show.

I thought Prep and Landing was a great show. Was nice to see something new and different to the normal Christmas shows. Prep and Landing will be a show our family will make a must see from now on.
