We will be meeting on Saturday, August 17th at Battle Creek (Lakeview Square Mall) food court! I94 Exit 98 (mall just south of the highway).

The one on Michigan ave in Chicago but I only get to vist that one a few times a year.
My usual haunt is the one at Rivertown Crossings. I used to vist one at WOODLAND until they closed it.


The one in Portage/Kzoo is ok but I guess I never seem to find anything at that one.

Thanks Kitty! I haven't decided if I'd go for a hotel or not. If this was done all during the day time and I didn't have to get there much before noon and could leave before 7 pm I could actually drive this in one day. I maped it out on mapquest and it was just about 250 miles and they say a 5 hour 1 min drive so I suspect it really won't take quite that long (based on how quickly I normally drive 100 miles). My cell phone will even work in Battlecreek as well as not having to roam for most of the drive. I did check that weekend and it looks good. I'll keep watching on what you all decide for times and everything and since I am nuts I might actually make this day trip :)

It's all highway and trust me, I-94 travels FAST!!!. I have driven the route many times and for me the worst part is the jigging and jogging around Toledo.

There is really a good possibility I will do a day trip there (if you all decide to meet during the day). I don't think I want to stay the night because Luis has bombed out on this meet already. I figured driving around Toledo would be the worst part of it, but hopefully nothing will be too bad (or confusing) for me.

Take exit 98A (M66 south, marked Sturgis) south to Beckley road.
Turn right (west) you will see mall on your right.
Food court entrance faces Beckley & it's on the west end of the mall (Applebees is adjacent to food court).

Sorry, it took so long to get back to this thread.....I was up trying to win some Mall $$ at the casino in Mt Pleasant!!!:jester:


There's two exits you can get off of and easily get to the Mall. So in other words if you Chicago guys miss the 1st exit, you will know it because you will see the Mall go by you on the right and you'll know to take the VERY next exit...OK!!;)


Also when you drive into the the Mall parking lot just head to the left hand side, toward Sears.....the food court is right near that.:)

And for some of the more daring......bring some extra $$ 'cause there's one of those simulator coaster rides right there and you can "pretend" you're riding RnR at MGM!!!:p :bounce:

Another thing..........Yepod, are we planning on dancing right there in the Food Court???:teeth:

Kitty, thanks for reminding me! I was checking the mall out last Friday to get a better 'feel' of the place & totally forgot to mention the virtual rollercoaster! I was sitting there eating with my back to it, when someone in front of me pointed & when I turned around the 'car' was lifting high in the air & pointing STRAIGHT DOWN
:eek: :eek: :( A little boy got out & wiped his forehead, looking maybe a little green (not lime tho or I would have recruited him LOL)

Anyway I see on the mall map there is a kids "soft play area" unfortunately at the other end of mall by Penneys. If your up for the walk we could dance there;)

There is a Don Pablos outside the mall on the East (Penneys) end for those wanting more of a party atmosphere afterwards;)

Okay, okay... Elaine was very tired yesterday and had a terrible headache due to some nasty thing she must have inhaled while up in Michigan that affected her allergies pretty badly. Elaine is currently at work, away from her pictures, but she will be sure to post a few pictures tonight. She just has to go through her pictures now and find the most unflattering pictures of John & Kath she can possibly find (as well as old pictures of Kim from Chicago) sine they are so terribly patient about these pictures ;) :p

In all seriousness, I will work on them tonight. I have them all downloaded to my computer but I really wasn't feeling so well yesterday due to my allergy induced headache so I didn't get any further than that. Sorry to make you all wait. I'll go home and pick the best ones (or the worst depending on how you look at it ;)) and they'll be up this evening, I promise :)
