You can try to spend the day in one of the least crowded parks, then head over to another park for the evening fun (and crowds).

I vote yes for park hopping! :thumbsup2

$200 for everyone to have hoppers? Doesn't seem like much. If you think it would make things much easier for you guys to have that option, then I'd go for it.

But, if you will use it quite a bit, then I definitely think $200 is worth it.

With it being a holiday time PHing might be necessary for crowd control so I'd keep it as an option. I guess what I'd suggest is budget for PH but don't buy them that way. It is an option you can add to your tix at any time and it is a flat amount no matter when you add it

. Remember, too, that you can add them to your tickets at any time -- even once you are there if you decide you need to hop.

well I have roughly all of you thinking the same thing...

large crowds + not a huge cost + added flexibilty = :thumbsup2 on considering adding the hopper option...

Now I hear what everyone is saying and maybe wait and add on after we are down there...but what about Margaret's ticket? :confused3 I am buying her's through UT...I assume I can not change it later. Her's will be the only ticket I pre-purchase in advance.

Happy to hear other thoughts and I will talk this over w/ DH and see what he thinks...

At first I was all ::yes:: yes on the hoppers (since DH & I will have it on the AP) then w/ the money factor I was feeling  abit iffy...but now w/ the GAD savings it may be ok...

I feel a little more :scratchin hmmm...it may be good to have it, but make a more firm decision based on hours later in a few months.

Do you think that is a good idea?
thanks all...

I will post my DDP-OOP food post in a day or two...it's a doozy...whoever said they like crunching the food numbers...I will need you on this one.

:headache:

Ok I just can't wrap my head around it anymore...

I was trying to tweek my itinerary and possible "dining plan" (not the DDP just my plan using credits, in villa, OOP)

and now I have crossed that crazy land of UGH....planningdisneyitis

you know I love it...but I liked when I thought I didn't have many variables and it seemed to just work easily...but not so much...

thinking now I NEED to sorta plan breaks in my goals for each day (obviously we take as needed when we are there)

here's my variables...

scheduling best ot worst park days choices

possible hopping to maxmize touring beginning of week while crowds may seem lighter

seeing the holiday stuff: CLP, Osborne Lights, Jammin Jingle Parade, Holiday Story tellers

not planning late nights in front of early pre-park mornings

want to see Spectro/Wishes at MK 1 night (I think it will be on every night we are there excpetion of arrival and departure most likely the MVMCP nights)

I am working on a Disney Album for a school mom and she was there last yr our same week this yr and the Lights were up at DHS pre-Thanksgiving as well as the Holiday version of the parade at AK.

So I am thinking I do not need to push all of that to the end of the week.

Then there is TS stuff to consider...which seems to be a pain and if we do reg DDP...my inlaws who are staying w/ us for 4 nights in BLT will need to purchase the plan...so we will use up the remianing credits when they leave cause it will be attached to our ressie and name...trying to decide how to work that best to their advtage to get the most for their bucks and then for us to...(but I am getting ahead of myself...w/ the DDP post to come)

Oh well just rambling on here in my disney crazies...

Need to go take the little girls to get pre-wedding hair cuts, want to post the DDP post tomorrow and then I'll probably need to take a break w/ stuff to do and busy for the Wedding coming up on the 13th...

WOW!

be back soon.

J~

PS yes I know about the possible closure of the GAD...Amy is my informant :thumbsup2

I go back and forth on using PHs. I thought we could drop them but DH wants us to keep them so they stay. I think you need to think about your priorities for when you are down there. You posted must-dos for all the parks--is it feasible to do it without park hopping? You have DHS and AK for 1 1/2 days. Can you add another set of tickets to make up time? It would be cheaper to add another day onto tickets than buy the PHs. :confused2:

I believe that once you get down there, a ticket is a ticket. You should be able to upgrade Margaret's base ticket to a park hopper just like any other ticket. You could look over on the ticket forums or even email Undercover Tourist and see what they say just to be safe.

Amy is right, the tickets from UT are regular WDW tix just like you'd get direct from Disney. It is my understanding that they get them at a discount from WDW by buying them in bulk and pass along that savings on in the lower prices. Once you're in WDW you would be able to upgrade her tix the same as the GAD ones you get from WDW.

I'm the food number cruncher if you need one, LOL. I've done it many times trying to decide if it would benefit us or not. We could have another mini-meet to crunch the numbers.

Have a GREAT time with the wedding!! Try not to let the WDW planningitis get the better of you. ;)

I was going to say the same thing as Amy -- I am pretty sure once you are down there, a ticket is a ticket and can be upgraded any way you want to upgrade it. Another thought to add to your mix.

I hear you about being overwhelmed by options -- I have been there. ;) Just let it marinate for a little bit. Eventually, it all comes together.

HI:wave2:
Joining in. We will be at BLT November 20-26.

One thing that might make you touring a little easier is the Osbourne lights. This past November they actually turned on the lights the beginning of November instead of waiting until the day after Thanksgiving. Hoping they will do that again this year, as I definitely want to do Candlelight Processional this year.

Wow...my head is kind of spinning and it's not even my trip!! ;)

We are not park hoppers, but if you are used to touring that way I can see why it would be hard to give up. Also, with my kids being older, we do have more flexibility.

We love the DDP and probably wouldn't do Disney as a family without it. I've crunched the numbers and we always come out ahead.

I'll agree with Amy that our trips usually run around the $5000 mark. :scared1:

I saw the GAD info about approaching the 1 million mark. I already registered and have arranged to mail our blankets next week. I hope we make it in under the wire.

Yes I think it is somewhat feasible to manage our park days w/out hopping...but may make it easier.

In re to adding a day and buy 8 day vs 7 day is that well I have learned my lesson...packing to much into the travel days just backfires for us...waking up so early to catch that flight and arrive is just enough...easing into Disney w/ resort pool, games, the Marketplace, etc is just so much easier...sorta have a basic plan but no real goals except YAY we made it works,

My DS Michael has Aspergers/HFA (Autism) and many of my touring plans to run around him and his structure...when 1-man is down...well the whole ship will follow. After last yrs back in last day and fly out after dinner disaster...I know just eating breakfast some last minute resort fun will be the perfect end to our trip and flying home on the Sunday after Thanksgiving...well that will be an adventure in it's self...

thanks for the advice...but I think the 7 day is just the right amount for us :thumbsup2

so I still have not heard back from the dupage forest preserve, area of interest for the GAD vouchers for the 3 kids...

Disney sent me their email saying they sent it out and I should hear from them in 5 days...I was going to contact them yesterday (DFP) but didn't get a chance...I will call on Monday and see if I can get some scoop....

nervous now it may not work out, since we can't register till after we hear from the place we want to donate our time too...

please keep your fingers crossed and send some :pixdust

From what I have read recently, the GAD opportunities that have open dates, like the Project Linus things, will no longer show up on the list. Date specific events will still be there for a while & things that you've expressed interest in will still go through if the organization needs you. So I wouldn't give up hope yet... :goodvibes

Money Matters Part 3:

Now to food and the Dining Plan…

I like the DDP…I like pre-paying and not worrying. I have not stayed on site before w/ the capabilities of making food in our room so I don’t know quite yet how much I will use the kitchen.

Going during a time of yr when the dining prices will be increased because of Thanksgiving, has the advantage of pre-pay.

We are a family of 6, which is a lot of food over the course of 10 days…

We like the ease, flexibility of CS and the rest and themes of TS. We like dining w/ characters. pluto:

We do not like being tied to 1 TS ressie a day.

We personally think the treat of dessert w/ every meal is a BLAST…not something we do when we eat out…and what fun options at Disney. Plus we love the snack credits. I would not buy that stuff OOP. :mickeybar

In discussions w/ Matt…he thinks we should stick to the original plan at add the DDP on. He feels even if we say we’d save money by doing half our meals in villa…he doesn’t want to be tied to going back to the villa for lunch/dinner and he feels w/in the confines of the DDP we know what we can eat and can get extra…w/ the OOP status we may spend more than we can actually plan.

We still have some hashing out to do and some marinating like Carissa said but…

Goals for dining….we would like 3 main TS meals: CRT lunch-Margaret’s b-day (Sat), 1900 PF bfast- Mae’s b-day (Tues) and Thanksgiving Dinner-WCC

I have priced these 3 meals out and get a rough guess of OOP = $631.82 (including approx tip & gratuity)

So let’s look at the 2 main DDP’s

1) reg plan at $41.99 per 10 and up (4) and $11.99 per 3 and up (2) times for 8 nights = $1535.52/ $191.94 a night broken down between 6 people that is roughly $32 per person per night
And is $352 more than QS

2) QS plan at $31.99 per 10 and up (4) and $9.99 per 3 and up (2) times for 8 nights = $1183.52/ $147.94 a night broken down between 6 people that is roughly $25 per person per night

3) QS plan plus 3 TS meals above OOP = $1815.34 + that is $280 more than the reg DDP

4) no DDP everything OOP…use TiW card for some savings see breakdown below

So a while back I found a handy Excel spreadsheet worksheet kind of thing from another Diser that I have used and modified to figure out the difference between OOP and DDP basically eating like you were on DDP but what do you save by going on DDP…and looking at eating what you would really eat vs the DDP cost. And what if any savings can you get…

It helps figure out possible tax and gratuity too…which is nice for my non Math brain. I have modified it to help figure out misc OOP costs like last yr when Margaret was not on a DDP…

DH & I are in agreement it would seem silly to pay OOP for 3 TS meals. We have discussed maybe just doing CRT and dropping all others…but that doesn’t seem fun and it technically is a savings using DDP vs OOP on the TS at least for us as far as I can tell…

If I divide the 3 TS meals by 6 people it’s roughly $105 per person for just 3 meals…granted one is a hefty price…but who doesn’t want to eat in the castle at least once and my girls are only going to be little this once….

The DDP price for 1 “day” of 2 meals plus a snack is less than what CRT would cost us OOP…

CRT = $268.42

DDP 1 night = $191.94

Now let’s say us 6 eat at for now at 5 TS (CRT-l, 1900 PF-b, WCC-d, HDDR-dshow, and Italy TS-CLP dinner package) and 8 CS meals eating a dessert w/ each meal, tips and gratuity it would equal

$1840

Savings of about $300 by using DDP…

Based on Disney pricing…the least costing CS meals I can calculate ordering what we want is just under $62.00

Beyond price you have to factor in how many meals can I get per plan according to me…

1) 13 meals, (not including snacks…) 10 meals in villa (mostly breakfast & 2 lunches & 1 dinner) plus 2 1/2 meals OOP on arrival day (we’d add on HDDR 2 credits, and CLP dinner pkg in Epcot for 2 credits)

as well it should be noted...whatever DDP we choose...my inlaws have to purchase as well based on our length of stay...we'll gain their unused credits and 2 more meals

2) 16 meals and 8 in villa, plus 2 1/2 OOP meals on arrival

3) 16 CS meals, plus 3 OOP TS meals and 21/2 CS OOP meals on arrival day and 7 meals in villa (bfasts)

Now there is the Tables in Wonderland card…which w/ the AP we could purchase for $75 and receive 20% off these restaurants we are planning to dine at:

POP food court
1900 PF
CRT
(FTBBQ listed on Allears.net but not on wdwinfo site)

*** Can not use on Thanksgiving Day even though WCC is on the participating list and HDDR is on list but only 9:30 show…that is too late for us.

By just looking at 1900 PF and CRT what could I save?

1900 PF about $26
CRT about $54

So then say I pay OOP for the 3 main TS meals w/ the TiW card = $626.82 (discount and cost of card)

Doesn’t save me anything…OOP for 3 meals no discount = $631.82

Now what if we don’t do DDP at all and OOP everything and use the TiW card on the above 4 places…but have the bulk of our meals in the villa…:confused3

I can see planning Breakfasts in BLT for 7 mornings, lunch we could plan 3 times and dinner we could do 5 times. Therefore eating CS OOP 7 times in parks (plus 2 more on arrival day) I would guess needing to budget about $50-60+ per CS meal = $540, plus the 3 TS meals = $627 (including TiW card) and then a grocery order = $200+

Possibly could do meals for about $1400 I have no idea

I worry though by being restricted to 8 meals for lunch and dinner combined…will make touring a bit zig-zagging? I’d say on days we are at MK and Epcot would be easiest to return to BLT and then we just have to leave AK/DHS early enough to get back to BLT for me to cook…not to mention I am not going on “vacation” to clean and cook…I do that everyday at home. I don’t mind breakfasts in the villa and a few meals for lunch and dinner dispersed

Any suggestions?

Well I am glad I wrote out this little exercise in trying to see if or what savings could be had if cutting tickets and DDP…:surfweb:

I guess just thinking back to our 2008 trip including airfare for 6 people, 5 park tickets and reg DDP plus staying at the POLY was budgeted out at $5000

How can this trip…not including airfare or resort be starting at $4000?

I guess prices increases and now that Margaret needs a ticket & DDP, plus the twins are coming in as adults in pricing…

It has gone up significantly…:guilty:

If I was purchasing 1 less on DDP and tickets plus the twins on child prices using GAD) and our 2 rooms at POP 1 night and the 2 AP’s…it would be about

$2430 vs the almost $4000 it is costing…

1570 difference…yesh…it pays to go when they are under 9 and 3 huh?

Just imagine how much more it would be if we were staying all nine nights at POP or somewhere more expensive and needing more OOP meals w/ no kitchen access?

Ok I’m just going to marinade and breathe…and say it’s OK….:earboy2:

Thanks all,

Scrappie J~

The ease and convenience of the DDP well worth it in my book. I say book the regular DDP and enjoy eating in the castle and with the characters! The memories you make with your kids while they're little are priceless...and the cost difference looks like it's minimal at best. And...like you said...without the confines of the DDP, overspending could be too easy. ;)

Hoppers=$1661.60 w/ tax (roughly)

Base= $1460.47 w/ tax (roughly)

Difference = $201.13

Ok let's hear it....

Gee, when you look at the cost difference spread out over a whole week for the entire family, it really doesn't seem like that much, does it?

Considering this is a busy holiday week, I think it would be worth it to have the hopper option and the freedom to change your plans as needed based upon crowd conditions! :thumbsup2

This is the way I look at it. We use to take foods for breakfast and lunch in the rooms and eat dinner CS. Before I knew about ADRs and we could afford TS meals.

Now we do DxDP. I like having it prepaid and not worrying about who orders what. We do two TS and one CS a day. DH likes his sit down meals and not fighting the crowds at CS places. I just plan ADRs for what parks we will be at. Last time I added in a few resort TS' and it worked okay for the most part.

If we paid OOP, we would not eat like we do on DxDP. We would eat mostly CS, share meals and scrimp on snacks. I am on vacation and I do not want to be cooking every morning and evening. We did that last June with some friends at SSR and I refuse to do it again. But that is me and I only have two kids, one of which is still a under 10.

We do not own at BLT, I am renting points and we are staying in a studio. DH and I can not agree on which resort to buy into, so we are trying our favorites to see which would suit us best. I want OKW (stayed w/a friend in January) and DH wants BLT.

I keep looking at your last post with the intention of coming back to look at it closer when my brain can digest... but that hasn't happened recently! :headache: I have the hardest time figuring out the food budget... maybe that's why mine is so high! What is this spreadsheet you have?

My suggestion would be that even if you come close to breaking even, go for the DDP! Do you really want to be eating in the villa much? I like having the option for snacks & breakfasts but otherwise I'd prefer to eat out on vacation! Also, on the DDP, you can eat more treats & have it all pre-paid. No worries about keeping tabs on the budget! The only thing that might sway my opinion on this is the family who aren't staying for the whole trip.

I would use the DDP without hesitation if we had the option of doing so off-site!

Ok see below...

Also, some questions....
1. how many days will your inlaws be with you? 5 1/2 days...they will arrive w/ us on the 19th and stay on POP w/ us 1 night then stay Sat-Tuesday night in BLT w/ us and leave on Wed.

2. will they be doing CRT, HDDR or CP (2TS credit ones) with you? they will eat at CRT, HDDR, 1900 PF and then I want to book them a ADR at CG for 1 night = 14 TS credtis w/ 2 left over

3. When figuring the HDDR and CP pkg which tier/seating did you use?

HDDR tier 2 (want 5:00 pm show/floor) and CLP pkg tier 3 (Tutto Italia lunch for 5 pm CLP show)...I can not find any info of restrictions on the CLP...

Can't wait to hear about the Irish Wedding.......

:thumbsup2

Ok the meals...

so I use this handy chart I created...and I write out per day B, L, D options and count down the credits...

Starting on Sat the 20th (as the 19th is a non DDP day) using the reg DDP booking two reg TS (1900 PF & WCC) and three 2-credit TS (CRT, HDDR, CLP pkg) that equals 5 meals

CS will be 8 times = 8 meals (up to 13 meals on the plan using our credits)

then have B in villa up to 7 times, L at least 2 times and dinner 1 time that is 10 more meals not on DDP...

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5213.jpg

if we ate QSDDP only I'd have 16 + meals cause we'd have 2 CS a night and I can squeeze a meal or two out of snack credits. plus meals in villa...but slightly differently configured

and so on....

does that make sense? :confused3

that is how we dinned during out 2005 trip...I still try to share credits if I can (even though I know you shouldn't) but it helps stretch the meals even longer)

We do not own at BLT, I am renting points and we are staying in a studio. DH and I can not agree on which resort to buy into, so we are trying our favorites to see which would suit us best. I want OKW (stayed w/a friend in January) and DH wants BLT.

very cool! If you rent points do you get all the member perks there like the ToW lounge access and the Community Hall?

I thinking renting is a very smart way to test it all out.

what view did you rent for...SV, LV or MK view? we will have lake view hoping to be on the MK outer side of the buidling...as I have read of people w/ the LV still seeing portions of MK.

I keep looking at your last post with the intention of coming back to look at it closer when my brain can digest... but that hasn't happened recently! :headache: I have the hardest time figuring out the food budget... maybe that's why mine is so high! What is this spreadsheet you have?

yes sorry my head hurts...and you'll laugh at my phone message...AHH! PANIC :scared1:

My suggestion would be that even if you come close to breaking even, go for the DDP!

that is where my reasoning sort of goes too...don't know if that is smart ;)

Do you really want to be eating in the villa much? I like having the option for snacks & breakfasts but otherwise I'd prefer to eat out on vacation!

that is me too...and I feel like I need to test the villa kitchen and ease of return before committing to full out use or half use. I don't want kitchen duty each day...I do that at home. Maybe looking at Cinderella Castle would make cleaning dishes more magical...but rather not

Also, on the DDP, you can eat more treats & have it all pre-paid. No worries about keeping tabs on the budget!

pre-paid is the point for us. I'd rather keep track credits vs money each day...

The only thing that might sway my opinion on this is the family who aren't staying for the whole trip.

yes that was a concern but we chatted w/ my FIL the other night and they are on board...see below.

thanks for the comments, questions and your thoughts :thumbsup2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now an update...

1) we have decided to go w/ the reg DDP!

-it just seems to make the most sense for us and what we want for food and experience from this trip....

-I have been milling over it for a while now and just think based on my numbers, your thoughts and just plain cost. This will work.

I am happy w/ the overal plan of when and how we will use the DDP to our advatage...have to tweak a few meals w/ the touring but that will be more decided after hours come out and such.

So let's just hope I can get the meals on the days and times I want

2) I have officially added my MIL and FIL to both of our resservations!

-I became a grand gathering for 1 night  and booked them 1 night at POP and linked our 3 rooms together.

-called DVC MS and added them as guests to our ressie and added on the reg DDP then too.

-MS confirmed w/out me even asking their leftover credits are for our use after they leave.:)

In pricing out the various options for my Inlaws...staying at CR for 5 nights, 4 day tickets and 5 nights DDP vs staying POP for 5 nights, 4 day tickets and 5 nights DDP vs staying w/ us 4 day tickets and 8 nights of DDP...the last version is the least expensive by a savings of about $230

we plan to top load our 4 days together on the DDP w/ most of the TS dining and send them on a night out too at Cali Grill...their left over credits as stated before will give us 2 adult TS credits (which we can do take out from say the Wave and bring back to our room and do a dinner for the kids in the villa 1 night) and have 6 CS credits left we can use for one more CS meal for the 6 of us.

3) the GAD looks like a BUST :headache: :sad2:

UGH! so I called today and the volunteer place was all full and not taking any more people....like thanks for calling or notifying me sooner. I want back on the GAD site and there is hardly anything left that could work for our 3 kids to do in our imediate area and a date that we can do.

I have one possible hope left in AMY...but we'll see

but now the money would have saved on the tickets which made me feel good about possibly keeping the hoppers is gone...

now I am back to just buying the 4 kid tickets (2 A and 2 C) through UT and

Hoppers total w/ the AP's = $1841.80

Base total w/ AP's = $1643.80

that 2nd total is about 20 less than what it would have been w/ hoppers and the GAD... :sad1:

Boogers!

I am not going to think about it anymore now for this week and think happy wedding thoughts not mad Disney thoughts...

Oh well guess I should have jumped on board this Volunter Train a few months back...but who knew...

We have LV. I had heard also about being able to see MK, but we don't spend much time in our room, but it would be nice to see at night while we are getting ready for bed. One problem: I am afraid of heights and am seriuosly asking for a lower floor. I normally won't go above the 4th. But then no view. So.......I am still debating this one.

I am not going to think about it anymore now for this week and think happy wedding thoughts not mad Disney thoughts...
Happy Disney thoughts, bad "having to figure out the budget thoughts"

You and me both. I wasn't going to do it cause I didn't realize about the fast pass. Then I couldn't find something local, that didn't involve picking up trash, that DD7 could do. Then I found out I can make pillowcases for a group and mail then in. I contaced the office closet to me and didn't hear back for two weeks, so now I have contacted the main office. I hope to hear something soon. Making pillowcases is something we can do as a family together at home and then mail in. I hope it works. I will still make the pillowcases even if we don't get the GAD.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: You're voicemail today was so funny! Sorry you were in such a panic, but it was still pretty funny to listen to you go on & on while I sat there at work!

Hopefully the one I told you about today will work out because I'm not finding any other open ended date projects out there. :sad2:

The only other thing I would suggest would be checking the projects in your area every day (or as often as you have time) to see if anything good is added.

I think that once you sign up, Disney will follow through with a voucher even if they go over the million mark. :confused3

Another option, if there are projects in your area, but they are only for the older kids, would be signing them up for that & signing Mae up for the blankets. You guys could split the family between two projects.

Bummer! :headache:

The "United in Reading" & Haiti Care Kits are still there... I think? But those would probably cost you as much as you'd be saving on tickets... I think DMIL spent around $70 for her United in Reading project.

Keep trying...

HI HEIDI!!!! :wave2:

yes I thought it was all good till the GAD thing didn't happen...

I will need your itineray expertise in deciding on the hoppers or not...

I flet good w/ spending the extra $200 when we were saving $200+ w/ GAD...but now I just don't know and it's so hard to come up w/ a good itinerary till the entertianment schedule is posted.

I think I need to have two plans...1) w/ hopping and 2) w/ no hoopping prepared so once I get the hours in May...we can decide...

stay tuned...

Bummer on the GAD thing not working out. It filled so quickly! I know when I delivered my blankets to the local person she was overwhelmed with the response. You literally could not see any furniture or even the floor of her living room except for a small path. She had 1,000's of blankets. I wonder if Disney expected such a response and what they'll do now for the rest of the year.

I think you'll end up ahead by going with the DDP especially since you're doing HDDR and the CLP pkg, those are budget busters! It's also probably going to be a 'holiday surcharge' timeframe and you won't have to worry about that.

Enjoy the wedding!!

Have you looked at last year's schedule just to get a feel for what they may do??
It's so hard, even when the schedule is posted three months out, because Disney tends to add-on shows and parades at the last minute on busy holiday weeks!

thanks for all the sad bummers and sharing in my bummer missed out on the big GAD...I love volunterring and we do all the time...but the perk of a free Disney Day...welll I guess i should have know. I agree w/ irishdancer people seemed overwhelmed by the response and don't even want to sign up new volunteers regardless

I never did hear anything no even a sorry all full response on the blankets...it's ok...moving on

Kathy I have looked a little at last yrs schedule...have not thought much about Disney in the last week or so...crazy, huh? I think my best bet is to just hold out till May and work on two plans a possible no hopping and 1 w/ hopping then just way the options later. Since I am buying UT I can wait till even closer to Nov to make a final decision just need to get those ADR's in...I don't like to make to many and then go back and cancel, too confusing for me.

irishdancer...i wouldn't do the HDDR or CLP pkg if we weren't doing DDP...but just the 3 places we WANT to eat at seem to make the most sense to not pay OOP...

Wedding Post coming soon...but first see below:

Tour plan help...

How does this sound?

My Mom, Dad, his sister and brother all in the 50-60 age range will be going to Ecpot for 1 day on Saturday 3-27.

According to touring plans it is the best park choice :thumbsup2

How does this tour plan sound? :confused3

Please respond ASAP, as I need to give my Mom the plan tomorrow morning they leave for Atlanta/FL on Wed.

Expected Arrival from Ft. Myers FL at park opening 9:00 am

1) arrival...if arrive before park opening or shortly after take a moment to view the grandkids LAL tiles

2) See Soarin if standby is 20+ minutes, FP it and come back later

3) LwtLand (my dad and his BIL are gardeners)

4) Seas/Turtle Talk

5) Spaceship Earth (I do not think my Aunt/Uncle have ever been here or at least not in a very long time)

6) Either Test Track or green side of Mission Space-possible FP and have lunch and go back

7) lunch before 12 pm at either Sunshine Seasons or Electric Umbrella

8) Head into WS-start w/ Canada and O Canada Film and special Garden Festival exhibit

9) UK pav

10) See movie in France

11) ADR at Teppan Edo at 4:30 pm (arrive at 4:15) and also leave time to view pav.

12) See American Adventure

13) view other pav. based on time/energy

14) see Illuminations at 9:00 pm get spot up to 1 1/2 hrs in advance

so :confused3

good, not too much?

thanks

4) Seas/Turtle Talk What time is the first Turtle Talk show? Need to be careful they don't get there too early

5) Spaceship Earth (I do not think my Aunt/Uncle have ever been here or at least not in a very long time) I would suggest SE as a whenever they pass by and the line is only in the straight part of the que (walk-on) SE lines seems to ebb and flow these days

6) Either Test Track or green side of Mission Space-possible FP and have lunch and go back

7) lunch before 12 pm at either Sunshine Seasons or Electric Umbrella I personally wouldn't recommend EU with all the great CS place in WS---and I would only recommend SS IF they were going to the Land pav for their Soarin' FP.....3 trips into that thing is probably too much in one morning.

8) Head into WS-start w/ Canada and O Canada Film and special Garden Festival exhibit
I loved the new O Canada film....I'm making DH see it the next time he goes

9) UK pav

Saturday the 13th...only 4 days before the biggest Irish (drinkin) party known to Man....and my brother and his beautiful bride to be were married :goodvibes

The weather was more befitting of the emerald isle or the near-by neighbor Scotland with the sideways rain and fog...but it did not dappen our spirits...

I wish I had more pictures to share by my duties of sister of the groom, child rangler, speaker, toaster and blessing giver (at rehersal dinner), bridal party coordinator, hubby helper, bag holder, cookie passer-outer...etc...the camera didn't get as much use I had hoped.

Michael commented later "that is so unlike you Mom" ;)

The ceremony was packed to the walls on all sides of the attached tent to the hotel and I had to climb around seats to get up to the poduim to say the poem, Angie my now SIL picked out.

Margaret did wonderful as 1 of the two flower girls and when she ran out of petals at the end of the aisle she bopped her Uncle Dan on the nose w/ her basket.

Aldine played her cello beautifully while accompaning my sister on the violin and Michael did a great job saying his Scripture passage...plus he did exceptionally well all night. YAY!

The sermon was a baseball twist which is so befitting of two very heavy baseball fans 1 Sox and 1 Cub...that's why I love my new sister :thumbsup2 and their vows had a hint of movie stardom with a line from Braveheart :lovestruc

the Party was great and the food was wonderful.

It was a wonderful wedding and day full of love, Irish touches and just pure joy to all be together.

I had such a wonderful time with my cousins and family...it was sad to see the night come to an end.

Yes it was, the bridemaids were in green, the bride has green toe nails and lots of little shamrocks everywhere.

so the green Miller glove...that is what is on my brother's hand. One of his friends (who he has know since K) is in promotions for Miller Beer and w/ St. Pat's right around the corner from their wedding he brought these funky beer gloves on the palm side it says "I'm Chi-rish, beer me" as in I'm Chicago-Irish...so the groomsmen and several bridemaids had them on when announced in at the recption plus these green berets...I so wanted a glove...even though I am not a beer person...and I was able to get one last night. :thumbsup2

well I got one and then today was the baking day and as I was preparing the bags for the 3 starters I labled each bag as Day 1) w/ the date...

 and do you know what I thought of?

ziploc bags of my travel days labeled w/ the clothes in them for packing...:sad2:

so bad....

The Disney LOGO shirt saga…

So do you remember back a month when I just happened to pull out the Disney shirts I had already bought eons ago for the trip and discovered I completely flaked on purchasing one for me? :headache:

I tried to find a Diser w/ one to loan me… no luck

I tired to find one online…no luck

Ordered a men’s small gray tank…no for me and Amy it is a dress for Mae w/ huge arm holes

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5197.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5197.jpg)

:rotfl:

Well that got me thinking maybe I had better try all these shirts on and see what fits, what may need a shrinking, etc. (I forget now, but someone posted they thought the shirts from Disneystore run small)

This was a good lesson in how Disneystore.com has changed their shirts in the last 2 yrs…the ringer tees I had bought in late August of 08 fit TOTALLY different than the shirts I ordered the end of last yr.

I took out the 24 shirts I had saved and a few out of the kids drawers….um yes that is crazy (sadly there are more :rolleyes1) and we had a Disney shirt fashion show:

1st up on the runway is the lovely almost 11 yr old Aldine modeling a bright purple Tink ringer shirt in a Ladies size XS.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5163.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5163.jpg)

Notes: fits real good if washing before trip, do on hand wash cold and line dry fearful of shrinking. Mae, Margaret, & Mom have matching shirts.

Next we have the sweet 7 yr Mae modeling her lilac Tink ringer shirt in a children’s size M.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5153.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5153.jpg)

Notes: this shirt fits great, follow washing guidelines above.

Coming up behind is Margaret (3 yrs old) in her matching Tink shirt in a child’s S

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5186.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5186.jpg)

Notes: it’s a little long, so a slight shrinking wouldn’t hurt

Our lone male model Michael (almost 11 too) get’s in the act while posing like the characters…

Mickey:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5168.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5168.jpg)

Goofy:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5166.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5166.jpg)

Notes…you should be able to tell that the Mickey shirt has been worn already and washed several times…shrinkage alert!!! the Goofy one still new, is a bit big, but doable (both are a child’s size L)

Time for a wardrobe change:

From 2008 cotton tees to fashion forward 2009 “GREEN” tees….

Aldine and Mom have the same shirts:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5161.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5161.jpg)

Notes: As you can see this shirt is a bit thinner in fabric and longer this is a ladies S, a little shrinking may not hurt, but should be cool for FL heat.

Here is the back:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5162.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5162.jpg)

Mae and Margaret have other matching “green” tees:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5158.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5158.jpg)

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5184.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5184.jpg)

Notes: Their shirts are a bit long, but OK maybe a summer growth spurt and we’ll be in business.

Michael is also sporting a new shirt for our green day….

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5164.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5164.jpg)

Notes: He loves Wall-E and thinks this shirt is cool. Mom also bought Dad a new “green” organic Mickey shirt…this will be our AK ensemble this yr since 08 and 09 we basically wore the same green color.

Next up the LOGO shirts…

Can this get any more comical? :rotfl2:

Aldine wearing a ladies S:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5160.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5160.jpg)

Which Mom then tired on and fits her, little tight at hips, but OK.

Mae tried on hers a child’s M:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5156.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5156.jpg)

Then Aldine tried it on:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5159.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5159.jpg)

And is was a little big on her…

Margaret tried on her child’s XS:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5183.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5183.jpg)

And then yep you guessed it, Mae tried it on:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5193.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5193.jpg)

Pretty good fit and a highly enthusiastic model on Mom’s hands…

Well Michael only had one option:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5165.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5165.jpg)

Shrink please! :laundy:

Dad tried on his (sorry he did not model his shirts for the camera) and it was ok, a wash wouldn’t hurt.

So where does that leave us?

Aldine waering Mae’s shirt

Mae wearing Margaret’s shirt

Margaret w/ no shirt?

Michael has one that needs major shrinking

And Mom can wear Aldine’s?

Well now back to the men’s tank top…so I asked my ever talented sister and she said yes she can cut out the logo part and surge stitch it on a plain shirt. So I just have to decide whu get’s it…

Thinking I may try shrinking all the other shirts and give each girl their original one I had purchased and me get the tweaked one…since the logo is probably too wide for a toddler size shirt… I don't know what would you do? maybe surge the logo length wise down a shirt or dress for Maragret and only shrink (hopefully one shirt then)?

At least I sort of have a plan.

cont next post.

I then looked at the rest of the various shirts and clothes I was setting aside for the trip or the kids already had in their drawers to determine what could be worn prior to going in Nov and those to keep in the Disney box:

Margaret also tried on:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5187.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5187.jpg)

A shirt from Grandma last yr (b-day) in size 4T saving

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5190.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5190.jpg)

Costume for either CRT or 1900 PF, this I had bought after Halloween in I think in 08 (nothing like planning ahead). I also have a 4-6X Cinderella costume, but it is a bit big on her now, so we’ll have to see come Nov.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5191.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5191.jpg)

I’d love for her to wear the SW dress for CRT and then have a Mary Poppins like outfit for 1900 PF since Mae will be wearing her Alice dress to that TS on her b-day and Alice and Mary will be there….

As well I had bought on sale at the store a size 4 cute Cinderella casual dress for Margaret…depending on weather she maybe able to wear this too.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5307.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5307.jpg)

Mae has a bunch of other Disney tees that Grandma had bought her too, but they a very long…very odd sizing on the mediums:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5154.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5154.jpg)

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5155.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5155.jpg)

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5157.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5157.jpg)

Not sure which one’s we’ll take w/ us.

I also bought her this cute LS shirt on sale to wear depending on weather, either way it will be saved for a present.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5308.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5308.jpg)

Plus I need to find her a Princess costume for CRT and BBB…I have Aldine’s old Belle dress from 08 I need to try on Mae and then I may hunt after Halloween for her.

Aldine also has this very cool shirt from Grandma again:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5167.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5167.jpg)

As well 2 weekends ago at the huge children’s clothing re-sale I go to every spring I got this cool Mickey shirt for her:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5295.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5295.jpg)

And I found this Tink shirt for Mae:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5296.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5296.jpg)

Plus for Michael I found this awesome classic WDW Mickey shirt:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5309.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5309.jpg)

Which he just loves.

He as well has 3 other shirts.

As well each twin will receive before we go as early Cmas presents new sweatshirts:

Michael’s is a design your own from disneystore.com which I got on sale (sorry the color on these pictures is a bit washed out w/ the camera flash) Donlad duck and initals NMW

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5297.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5297.jpg)

And Aldine’s, a friend picked up for me at WDW last fall:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5300.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5300.jpg)

(This is one of few clothing items purchased not on sale) I plan to have my sister bling it up a bit, w/ adding her initals to the front under Tink (RAW) and then like my Mickey sweatshirt from WDW

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5302.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5302.jpg)

We are going to look for some cool Tink fabric at the store for her to add a lining in the hood.

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5305.jpg (http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/?action=view&current=100_5305.jpg)

Have to decide what Aldine wants to do, the BBB or PL and what she will wear as well.

Well I hope you enjoyed this little fashion show of shirts and such…

Up NEXT: a peek inside the very full Disney box and everything I already have stashed for a trip still over 200 days away.

Great fashion show!! My kids would have been less than cooperative with the trying on part too, especially DS9!

Love the Tink shirts and sweatshrits, we are Tink fans here too. As for the logo Ts, if you want another kid size one they are available on eBay I think. Search for Disney Mickey Logo Shirt and there is a seller with some up.

Can't wait to see "the box"!

No, but XS is the smallest they come I think? have to look

I'm thinking all the girls go down in size on the logo shirts and make one for Margaret with the tank logo.

I think that may be the easiest...I will pick up a plain shirt soon a Target wash it and then see what my sister thinks...

I know...they are the highest quality too...

So I know the next post is suppose to be the "box"...

but before I get to that some advice is needed...

so as you know I was feeling confident moving forward w/ the hoppers for the 4 kids until we missed out on the GAD promo and now am back to buying everyone's tickets through UT and the $ is still a bit steep.

Decided I would make TWO itineray versions 1 w/ hopping and 1 w/out hopping w/ my ADR's in place so come early May when hopefully Disney releases their hours I can make a final decision in time before my ADR window on May 24...I don't think any ADR's will move around too much w/ the exception of 2 based on the plan...but if I can't get my first day choice it may cause I bit of or really MAJOR re-working...I have never had triuble making them before...but you never know.

so now...to today's dilemma:

I had the HOPPING plan set:

KIM this does not include arrival Fri the 19th and departure Sun the 28th as these are non park days anyways.

I set most days except the two Saturdays based mostly on best/worst park days from touringplans crowd chart set in mid Jan...but when I looked today some of days have changed parks on the best and worst :confused3

sat 20 Margaret's b-day Morning MK (pre-park BBB and CRT-lunch) thru 1:00 pm ish then rest/change at BLT and hop to Epcot, basic goal get on Soarin w/ MP's and have dinner in WS, leave before close be back at BLT to watch Wishes from resort/room?

sun 21 AK try for pre-park early tour, lunch there, possible Resort Hop to BCV? or BW to see holiday decor then to DHS for few attractions and Osborne Lights if lighting (last yr were on before TG)

mon 22 MK all day w/ a break at BLT, HDDR for dinner try for 5:00 pm and possible back to MK for Spectro and Wishes (iffy w/ wanting early bfast next morning)

tue 23 Mae's b-day 1900 PF early bfast try for 8:00 am then to AK for rest of park day stay for parade, Matt's parents night out at Cali Grill

wed 24 (matt's parents leave) Epcot for the day possible BLT break depending on what time we arrive pending MP's leaving/flight need to say goodbye back to epcot evening or go to MK for 2nd chance of Spectro and Wishes in park

thurs 25 no issue not going to parks anyways resort-rest and maybe pool lunch in room, monorail resort hopping and maybe MP for shopping WCC dinner and WL and watch EWP & Wishes from resort

fri 26 MK pre-park arriving and tour, break at BLT and possible hop to DHS for lights or another possible night for Spectro

sat 27 Epcot day for last minutes FW and mainly Santas/storytelling in WS plus CL dinner pkg (Italy) and then CLP and possibly Illuminations

Also hopping plan if one night allows it preferably Wed or Friday take Aldine to MK at night just the two of us or maybe other park...but MK most convenient.

Now I need to work a non hopping plan and look over my hopping plan based on the new CC...days affected Sun, Tues, Fri,

Musts:

* Go to MK morning of Margaret's b-day

* Go to Epcot for FW touring and couple WS things pre TG for us and w/ Matt's Parents

* Try to see Lights and/or Spectro w/ Matt's parents

* need to fit in HDDR and CG for MP's before Wed.

* Rather do monorail park on Tuesday since eating bfst that morning...maybe do a 8:30/9:00 am start instead helpful for MP's...

* don't want the early morning following late night thing

* Go to Epcot on second Sat for Santas!

* Need to go to AK and DHS pre-park or right at opening at least one day

Wow! That's a lot to wrap your head around!

How fun that Margaret will get to enjoy the MK on her birthday! What a great way to celebrate. She is one lucky little girl!

I love that you have Thanksgiving as a resort day. Relax and chill out...perfect!

As far as the walking trails at AK....one has the gorillas and the other has the tigers. Both great! I'm not helping, am I! I'd say do the Pangani trail, the gorilla one. If they are out, they are a blast to watch. The tigers tend to pace or sleep!

:cool1: We just filed our taxes and we are getting more back than we had originally hope for...so after the stuff we needed to pay for (bills/debt) Matt said we should just go ahead w/ the Hopper Passes...so as soon as the $ is in our account :woohoo: I'll be able to order the kids tickets through UT and save the other $ for our AP's....

Yes I agree... I hope by planning BBB pre-park and do a fe quick Fantasyland items at 9 am then CRT lunch we can vacate before major afternoon crowds arrive...keep my fingers crossed till ADR making day.

So this was yesterday's new plan and the biggest update is no longer need to plan for a non-hopping version... :yay:

but still need to get a good itinerary of days laid out...not neccesarily what goals for attractions and order of touring...but just what is morning, afternoon and evening.

I recieved a little more info from Amy and that has helped a bit...

The days that I feel good about are: :thumbsup2

Sat 20 MK/EPcot

Wed 24 Epcot or MK

Thurs 25 rest day

Fri 26 AK w/ PM hop to DHS or MK

Sat 27 Epcot

Days still trying to figure out best combo are: :confused3

Sun 21 AM good (AK), PM ?

Mon 22 all day

Tues 23 late morning into dinner (PM hop OK w/ to DHS)

(of course it figues these are the days w/ the MP's...)

Now once this is semi squared away it is still is in slight limbo till hours and such are out and I guess I need to decide if we can't get CRT on Sat 20 would I switch the girls b-day meals and try for 1900 PF on Sat and CRT on Tues?

thoughts

TIA!

1900 Park Fare is easier to get than CRT. But now there are princesses at all meals at CRT. You may be able to get the date/time you want.

yes I do realize that...we did dine w/ Cinderella at 1900 PF in 08 for dinner which was great...but this yr...it is the castle or bust!

My little girls are only going to be little once :cutie:

(next time we go is probably 2013 and the twins will be going on 14, Mae 11 and Margaret 7)

I would think Tues would be easier. I hope you get it. Are you making your dining reservations online? If you do, you can start at 6 a.m. That's how we were able to get CRT. I logged on at exactly 6 a.m. and got it no problem.

I think you are going to have the hardest time planning without the DHS hours/entertainment schedules. Based on last year's calendars, it looks like MK will have Spectro & Wishes every night during that busy week so you'll just have to worry about EMH. DHS, on the other hand, seems to have Fantasmic on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Sundays right now - though there are some Mondays in October. The EMHs seem to change... right now, and again in the fall, they have EMH am on Saturdays and EMH pm on Mondays (with some Sundays in October). During the busy summer months they have EMH on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. So you have two factors to deal with for DHS...

Hopefully you'll get the park hours early enough to figure it all out. The October hours are out so you can probably expect the November hours at the end of April. :thumbsup2 So I wouldn't stress too much between now & then. You'll have almost a full month to figure out your itinerary before your ADR day.

Hopefully you'll have your itinerary all done when we get back in May. I can't wait to see what it looks like after the hours are published.

Oh man that is right...you'll be coming back right before my ADR time...crazy huh?

OK so this EHM thing w/ DHS...

we are not planning to see F! this trip so I am not concerned about that...but do know I need to be wary of the crowds...but personally I think anyone in DHS at night is there to see the LIGHTS!

this is the ONLY reason we want to go to DHS at night...to see those LIGHTS!

that is the one crazy factor for me in deciding what to do w/ DHS.

I know last yr they were on before TG...so I am hopeful that will be the case, as I am thinking less of crowds maybe by 2 people  vs after TG...

this is what Heidi (MRYPPNS) sent me in an email:

"I just read that your hopping problem has been solved! Yeah for that. Touring Plans crowd calendar is for the most part based on the EMH schedule....they avoid those parks like the plague..... and historically which days are the busiest on which days. Until the EMH schedule is out for November it's a carp shoot. For planning I would just decide what ADR's you want to go with what park or free day. Then you can just plug those in once the schedule comes out. And really when the crowd levels are that high it's most important to have a good touring plan and be there at rope drop. I would even think about doing the Morning EMH's then hopping to a non-EMH park for the late afternoon evening, with a swim/rest break mid-day most days. That way you can take advantage of the parks being open late (in theory)."

this was my reply:

"thanks Heidi...

for all your good thoughts....

carp shoot huh?

Ok best I just steer clear of the itinerary planning then for now and just sit on what I have till beginning May.

The ADR'S we want yes are somewhat tied to the parks and free day...but I am really stuck w/ those days I am already thinking due to the holiday, b-days and Matt's parents w/ us.

but you may be right w/ the hopper we can just go where we need to go first thing and hop to a hopeful less crowded place in the afternoon/evening.

I am trying to be more flexible..(HA) w/ the touring stuff this yr...just feel good if I have a firm set plan of days.

at least only 3 out of the 7 park days are kind of up in the air.

we shall see."

so my conclusion for now is stick w/ what I have wait and see what is announced end of April early May for my days in question

Sun 21 PM

Mon 22 all day

Tues 23 all day

and then tweak as needed...

Ok enough said on that right? :rolleyes1

Do you want to see what is in my Disney planning/trip box?

Do you know the password?

*

*

Ok there isn't a password....

;)

Now if I showed you pictures of everything individually in the box...it would take like 3 posts to share if not more...seriously this is some bad addiction I have :rolleyes1

so let's just look at it all togehter:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5169.jpg

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/100_5170.jpg

UM I bet you thinking this is all for going? are you sure you didn't just get back...

when I showed Matt the pictures he was like

Now what is all of that?

On Feb 26th I decided to empty out the box and take stock of what was in there before I started adding anything else too it and realized I had 1 too many of a certain item…

I’m telling you the dollar bins at target are dangerous!

I also realized I had better start a running total of what I have bought since the last trip in March ’09.

First is what was in the box (not including what new stuff I bought since the last trip)

*1 toddler size rain jacket (store bought)

*1 kid size WDW poncho (have a few adult ones elsewhere)

*Misc traveling papers, old GAC card from 09, old Diser tag, laminated kid friendly maps, DVC member mag w/ BLT on cover for silly photo op at BLT

*Leftover items from 09:

Unused DVC coloring book, sm AK free activity book, blank paper Ariel note pad (for drawing), small kid activity books (semi used) Peter Pan, 2 Princess ones, WTP learning cards, glow bracelets

Leftover pennies and quarters in holder for Pressed Pennies

2 three load each mini bottles of All laundry detergent and 1 anti-bacterial hand lotion

*Kid Boredom busters:

1 Ariel bubbles on rope, 3 mini slinkies, markers on clip, mini MMCH magic reveal book (leftover from a b-day goodie bag), Disney Kid Question cards on a clip, mini MMCH etch sketch, mini pack of crayons, 3 tiny notepads and stickers, mini MMCH light up wand

*Other park touring essentials:

1 plastic snack container (for Margaret), trading pin backs, 2 stroller clip for towel cover, rubberband (you never know), 3 autograph book page holders, mini lint roller, safety-pins, foldable green MM bag and bag holder, straps for Margaret’s 1 Minnie plush and cup (plus that cup), and the rope w/ balls on end that we attach to stroller for kids to hold

Also have (just not in box yet):

3 light up MM head wands for nighttime parades, etc
Partially used autograph books
Kids pin lanyards

And of course the loads of shirts and girls costumes (some set aside)

As I am typing this I realize this will be the last Disney trip w/ a lot of these items…as our next planned family trip will be sometime in 2013 and my youngest Margaret will be going on 7 (Mae going on 11 and the twins going on 14 based on when we go) Scary…

So what have I bought and added to the box?

*Princess Sticker Art set (on sale, leftover from last Christmas decided not to give Mae) will be good for airport and/or resort room $ 3.50

*Finding Nemo and Princess Color Wonder books for Margaret (put to the side after her b-day and Christmas last yr) no cost

* 2 Magnetic play boards “Fairies” and Mr. Potato Head (one just found in basement unused and other was a set aside gift from Margaret’s b-day or C-mas last yr) no cost

*Incredibles Decoder Kit (for Michael) $1.00

*2 mini activity books plus stickers (Mickey and MMCH) $2.00

* 2 tiny MM board books $2.00

* 1 disposable bib (for Margaret) $1.00

* 2 “I have Aspergers” silicone bracelets (for Michael) $ 6.00

* 6 Fairy pens on rope (autographs) $2.00 (came 3 in a pack)

* 2 lrg Nemo pens (not super size just thick) possibly for autographs $1.00

* 1 pkg of 4 Ariel pop up pencils and 1 pkg of 6 animal pop up pencils (for writing-non parks better than broken tips on reg pencils) $2.00

Misc surprises/gifts:

*Snow white light up musical wand (for Margaret) $ 3.00

* Mini MMCH Holiday see and say (for Margaret and found at after Cmas sale at Kohls) $

*AiW book (for Mae) $1.00

* 2 Winter Princess Santa style hats for little girls (got at after cmas sale-Target have to see if will fit and then will have my sister surge their names on them) $ 10.00

* And my most recent find on clearance at Target a castle light-up cake topper $ 2.50

Approx total of pre-bought items (including some gifts) = $40.40

For all those shirts I showed you in the fashion show, of what I actually bought this is my rough total (can’t find all the packing slips): $102

Plus clothes that are gifts: $100.80

Grand total as of 3-29-10 for Pre-Disney Purchases (granted this is stretched out since like August of 08) is $243.20

I am sure there will be some more misc things to be bought, new shoes, etc and some special things just for the trip...but I feel pretty good in saying over 7 mo out from the trip, the majority of my pre-trip shopping is done:cool1:

Up NEXT: Special Creative creations w/ help of the DISigns and ordering of some customs (plus asking for some special Diser made hairclips-Becky)

I was thinking exactly what Amy typed!! Bigger box, anyone?? LOL!!

Honestly though, I have missed having a Disney box for this trip. It was a nice place to put all those "just for the trip" items. Although, without the kids' things I have less, I still have some things that now have no place to go!

7 months out and mostly all pre-trip shopping done! Not bad.....but I'll believe it when I see it! ;)

Matt and his spinal injury and arm pain....

he has recieved his final hydrocortisone shot a week ago this past Friday and had a Superman weekend for 2 1/2 days...but by last Monday...slowly back to the constant to horrible pain in his arm and neck plus constant discomfort.

He has one week (this week) left w/ PT and then the next phase...

:confused3

Margaret and her food issues...

she recently came back w/ a positive test to carrying 1 of the genes for celiac disease. still not a positive confirmation of celiac but the gluten sensitivity is firm and most likely something she will deal w/ her whole life. As far as milk and egg...continue on those restirctions of out of her diet till her b-day end of this yr. Then start a re-challange...but I may ask to delay that till after Disney and Christmas...I do not want to risk her getting sick like earlier this yr (she was sick /in 24 hrs and took her from early Dec to end of Feb to recover)

Twins and school needs (Michael HFA & ADHD, Aldine PDDNOS & ADHD)...

Michael ended his Friday before school in a fight and being shoved so hard he came home w/ a bruise...yes he is OK, but the Friday after school resumes next week is his IEP eligibilty meeting (he does not have one...been trying for 3 yrs)...Mom has been having stomach pains since Saturday afternoon...yeah right to their request don't let this ruin your SB...maybe this wouldn't have happend if he had an IEP w/ a better Behavorial Plan in it...this fight shouldn't have ended w/ a child being hurt and that is how the teacher found out....:headache:

Aldine is managing homework better...but I still do not think the school get's it...begining some new med's to help w/ some rigidity issues

Other what nots...

working on my first "for sale" custom Disney book...almost done will post pic's on BLOG when done...Mae is scrapbooking a small Disney book from 08 and 09 and plans to add after this yrs trip.

MY Mom and Dad had a great day at Disney on Sat (27th) they arrived just before 9 am and parked in lot A...did LwtL, Seas, SSE, got FP's for Soarin had lunch in the Land before that...then did countries...saw everyone except Norway and Mexico. saw entertainment in UK, France, USA and China...loved Teppan Edo...came away w/ a Chef's hat for her b-day. Stayed for Illuminations and sat on a bench right at the railing opposite Norway. Also went shopping at Mouse Gear! Plus my Dad's sister and BIL turned in a 1 day left on an old 1985 passport and got in for free...had never been to Epcot before...just loved everything!

said she had a wonderful day and my plan (w/ Heidi and you all's suggestions) was great...

May be off the Dis for a few days now while kids on Break...

Enjoy Spring if you can,

AND if you think of it...Thursday is not just April Fool's Day...but start of AUTISM Awarness month....WEAR BLUE! TYPE IN BLUE, whatever you can this one day in support of autism awarness...not just for my children but for so many out there living each day w/ it...

Ahhhhh....your last two posts confirmed to me that I only what to plan a trip 3 to 6 months in advance. You don't spend as much money and you don't drive yourself crazy planning.

:rotfl2: yes last March did not seem very crazy to me...this one doesn't either...but I have put alot more thought into it....

Hi Julie! I hope you and the kids are enjoying your spring break.

I'm so glad that your mom and dad enjoyed their time at Epcot. So sorry to hear about Michael's problems at school. Here's hoping his IEP finally gets approved at your meeting next week. The educational system's "red tape" is so frustrating.

Wearing blue today in honor of Michael, Aldine, Billy, Alex and Zach and all those touched by autism. Thanks for the reminder. :thumbsup2

Sorry Matt is still dealing with pain. :sad1:

I completely understand the frustration with the school. You already know part of my decision to homeschool again was because of their refusal to test and help Sully with his issues (undiagnosed dysgraphia). Hope the meeting goes well.

I don't know if you remember a couple of years back I was looking into Aspergers with Connor. He had the horrible constipation (that finally stopped after an in-hospital clean out) and many of the signs for Aspergers. He has changed so much in that time and most of the issues have disappeared. But, every once in a while I still think about it and wonder.

Thanks Carissa,

no I did not know that...I am glad for the most part he is doing well :thumbsup2

It is hard to help our kids when don't quite know what is wrong or when we don't get the support w/ suspect. I am glad your boys are thriving.

Michael does well in school I am nervous for the switch to Middle School in late August...but he really needs a more firm social component of structure and suppot at school as as more regular system of accomadtion/modification going from 1 teacher to 6 is going to be  w/out an IEP in place that everyone can work w/.

And thanks for the concern for Matt...one more doc visit on Monday and then we'll see how close surgery may be.

So I have some time to burn here while I await some loaves of Amish Friendship bread to finish baking before I retreat to the basement and work on the custom Disney album... I'd thought I'd start that

Special creative and custom purchases post I had hinted too...

Last weekend I had my laptop out and was sitting on the couch and browsed through the gazillion DISisgns out there and decided on several I really liked. Some that I could add my own touches too and others I asked for personalization to be added too.

I really like Marion's (RustFanMan) work...I haven't created anything yet...but here are my thoughts:

(Please bear in my the DISigners really ask that you don't qoute their work unless it is a finished item you have done something w/...

so for now bear w/ my descriptions and thoughts*** oh after thought included links to her posts w/ my personalized designs...yes the names on them are my kids)

link to DISigns for me to create with (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36005277&postcount=833)

You may or may not know, but one of my very BFF's is taking her children to WDW for their first time (she has been more times than me) in June to celebrate her son's 3rd b-day and her DD will be jusy shy of 1 yr.

I am creating the Child's First Memory books for each child...the boy version is done and you can see it on my BLOG.

I want to give them some little pre-trip trinkets to go w/ the books and as their b-day presents...so I thought why not custom tote bags to put everything in.

Marion had some really cute First trip DISigns and she added their names to them for me and I will print them out on iron on transfer paper and put on a plain tote bag.

Post pic's when done!

Now to my stuff:

For Michael I had her modify this Donald Survivor ribbon picture. It now has Donald leaning against an autistic ribbon w/ his name under it.

I really like it. :thumbsup2 My two thoughts are 1) to print on iron transfer paper and put on his “travel bag” or 2) just print it and laminate it to add as an id tag at the bottom of his pin lanyard.

other link to designs (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36005288&postcount=834)

For the little girls I want to do some special b-day items. I had Marion add to a cute “happy b-day to me” design their names. Now what to do w/ it?

DH thinks I have too many “Disney Shirts” already...

ok maybe I do :rolleyes1...but how often to you celebrate your b-day at WDW? They both will be wearing special costumes on their b-day and the other for the 2 character meals but they will have to change eventually?

What do you all think?

Should I create new shirts for them or what?:confused3

I also had her do these b-day age circles that have their new age 8 and 4 on them and they say "I'm __ today."

I hope to turn them into buttons or some type of “pin” to wear not just the “Disney free pin”

Here is the link to the page that the buttons are shown...ignore the Disneydafty?

button idea (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36021250&postcount=2125)

As well I had her add to a BLT design “Our first trip Home” I am going to just print this and laminate it to make a sign to post on our door at BLT...

is that cool? I know many people decorate their exterior door/window but do you can you in the interior hallway entry style resorts?

Plus I saved some other images to use for various things which I will share later as I make them up.

I want to find a cool design to have Marion personalize for Aldine and Matt liked the idea of customizing a tote bag for his Mom to carry around while we are there.

Now on to some special custom orders...

This is not something I have done before but think it will *** those extra special touches and these item count toward b-day and Christmas...

first custom hair clippies from our very own Diser Becky (ladybugmom) you can see her stuff on her upcoming website allybugbowtique.com

I haven't decided on what I want yet...but will soon.

I am thinking coordinating “princess” clips for each girl and their costumes at CRT and I just love the Turkey clips for Thanksgiving

second is some custom homemade clothes...

I have been browsing various sellers on Esty and have found the most beautiful “grown-up” girl Princess inspired dresses for Aldine. She has decided she wants to dress up for BBB and CRT but doesn't really want the typical “little-girl” costume...and I don't really want to spend $ on a costume dress she'll never wear again. The Belle dress I bought on an after Halloween Sale for our 08 trip she only wore at Disney and refused to wear for Halloween that yr.

Take a look at the dress..she likes the “Belle” one:

=tags&includes[]=title] Belle inspired sundress (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=28838248&ref=sr_gallery_23&&ga_search_query=disney+princess+dresses&ga_search_type=category&category=clothing.children&ga_page=3&includes[)

What do you think?

Then for Margaret I have her Princess gown for BBB and CRT and then Mae has her Alice dress for the Supercalifraglistic Bfst w/ Alice and Mary Poppins so I really thought wouldn't it be cute if we found a Mary Poppins inspired dress...

I think a dress w/ some Mary on it vs a costume would be nice as seriously we have a gazillion dress up gowns already. I have not looked on Ebay but custom Jolly Holiday dresses are way to much for me to spend to be “cute”

so I found this what do you think?

=tags&includes[]=title] Custom little girl Mary Poppins Jumper (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29233396&ref=sr_gallery_2&&ga_search_query=disney+mary+poppins&ga_search_type=category&category=clothing.children&ga_page=&includes[)

And while I was searching for Margaret I found this for me:

=tags&includes[]=title] Ladies M Poppins shirt (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39800616&ref=sr_gallery_13&&ga_search_query=mary+poppins&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&includes[)

So I haven't ordered anything yet..but will soon. Do you think I should send an interest inquiry to make sure the sellers would still make in a few months? I am not sure how long they keep various items available to order...

Well all my bread is out of the oven and only one minor burnt corner and 1 minor cave in on a mini loaf...but all in all...YUM-O

Be back soon w/ more planning things and Disney What nots...

Have a wonderful Easter and thanks for reading,

Scrappie J~

Hey all...

most of you know that I have posted not the names of my kids but their middle names...

my middle name game is just too confusing now for my crossover friends from the Dis and vica versa ...

TO make it easier and less confusing for myself (DH is ok w/ this) I will now refer to my kiddos by their actual names...

I know

I am not planning to go through and change every post but updated their names on my first post...

so Michael is Nathan

Aldine is Rebekah or Bekah

Mae is Rachel

and Margaret is Naomi-Ruth or Naomi she says "no-me"

each new post from here out will be the first names...hope you catch on quick and now Heidi doesn't have to be my name police when I slipped up...

I'm kinda glad you decided to use the kids' first names...I was constantly getting confused between here and your emails and facebook! :rolleyes1 And I was worried about slipping up too!

I love dressing the kids up for Easter (especially the girls) what a treat to find these marvolous (msp?) matching dresses for them...I have a feeling this may be the last yr of this kinda of stuff...so it was fun!

Yay! So glad you are able to swing the PH--I bet that is a relief off your mind. Great deals for your Disney box! We started to pick things up--I totally think it makes sense to spread the cost whenever possible.

Love the customs you have had done. RustManFan has created one for my family's trip as well. We have had some other things done too. I think it is a really special treat to have them done. :) I am so thankful there are others willing to share their talents with us! I love Becky's bows! I order a couple for Easter for my DD--they are so cute! I want to get a few more done before we go to Disney. They are all so cute, it is difficult to choose. I love the Belle dress you are looking at on Etsy. So adorable! The Mary Poppins jumper is cute too. I love the Ladies shirt too. :goodvibes:

Hi my fellow Disers! :wave2:

Here are some quick planning updates that have been in the works...

* Ordered the kids 7-Day PH passes through UT and using the very cool Mousesavers discount...even saved another 1.99 for their celebration of their new iphone app and I don't even have an iphone :thumbsup2

* Cleaned out some misc. papers/notes from my planning binder that no longer need

* Have not re-looked over my last Itinerary since making on 3-27...so guess I am feeling good...counting down days till the hours are released for 2010 Nov!

* Looked over my original monthly to-do's...still need to type up and transfer notes from the mini pre-pre-planning notebook to my travel folder!

April is for finalizing the itinerary in prep for ADR's in May...so that is on hold till hours/entertainment is released.

July I had listed add the DDP on our ressie, but that is done :thumbsup2

* I have been going through CS choices and trying to figure out the best places to eat w/ Naomi-Ruth in mind w/ her food issues (no cow's dairy, eggs, wheat or gluten) been doing research on the boards of what other people have done and eaten...will post on some of that later this month or in May.

* Since I am taking my lap top to WDW w/ me I am planning to save various restaurant menus in a folder and have a folder of pertiant planning materials on it.

* downloaded and printed cool planning cards from a fellow Diser Mickey'sBestGirl

link to the thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2180797

I have not started filling out anything yet...that is too come later in the planning process

* To-DO before ADR window...

have discussion about how the online thing works (AMY! :worship:)

update my "dinning plan" TS/CS/in room

need to finalize dates/choices/budget for BBB for girls and PL for Nathan

after hours/entertainment released tweak main itinerary and have back up dates for TS if can't get first choice...(hate that part...usually I don't do, but think I should w/ the travel dates)

Also UPcoming....my first Julie's Mickey Memories Custom Album is DONE and sold! :woohoo:

I will post a teaser pic and update my BLOG very soon...

Have a great Disney Day:tinker:!

Hi Julie!! First - I'm happy to walk you through the online dining ressie system. I've made so many ADRs that I've become a pro! :rolleyes1

As far as restaurant advice - We found that it was easiest to deal with food allergies at non-buffet TS restaurants. They were equally accomodating at all TS restaurants, but it was hard to sit around and not eat at a buffet while we waited for Alex's special food. Or we would eat, while he picked at a few safe food from the buffet... neither situation was ideal.

At non-buffet TS restaurants we would all be served together. :thumbsup2

CS were tricker because we would all order together and have to wait for Alex's food - not much to do to avoid that. :confused3

What's this UT iphone app you mentioned?

thanks maybe you can email "steps" or carve out a time to call and I can sit online while you explain...I did it for my Mom's ADR...but for several, what to be prepared! need a run-thru

Yes of our TS choices...CRT lunch-order, HDDR set menu, WCC-set menu/order, 1900 PF-buffet (figure brings some food from villa and she can have fresh fruit), Tuttio Italia-order

I will contact special food services too before ADR window to just see their thoughts!

CS were tricker because we would all order together and have to wait for Alex's food - not much to do to avoid that. :confused3

yes that is what I am thinking...some other Diser said a special order could take up to 30 minutes longer if not more...Matt and I figure a few times one of us will have to go ahead and split up to order for her...I plan to bring food for her into the parks each day for the most part and have her eat the applesauce, jello, grapes, carrots mostly offered w/ the CS kid meal since we are paying for it...hoping some places can get "special" food easier...

What's this UT iphone app you mentioned?

:confused3 I don't know didn't look at it to closely since I don't have an iphone....just gave the money off our order...check the site I guess?

Thanks for the link to those planning sheets.....I downloaded them and they look good for taking notes on!

Pssst..... Hours are out!! ;)

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/magic-kingdom/calendar/

Official Operating Hours:

thanks Amy for the tip and via email :thumbsup2

So I just finished scanning through the official WDW site and the parks Operating calendar for November in particular are parking touring days:

Nov. 20-24 and 26, 27 (19 & 28 are arrival and departure days no parks, plus rest day on 25th-Thanksgiving)

But what the? :confused3:headache:

two things 1) AK calendar doesn't show anything just get November 2010

and 2) no Holiday schedules for the Osborne Lights-DHS, CLP and Santas-Epcot and Jammin Jingle Parade-AK

OK # 2 you are things I really need

Now just looking over my somewhat good itinerary for the park days:

Sat Nov 20: MK and Epcot

MK OOH 9:00 am to 10:00 pm Spectro 9:00 pm Wishes 10:00 pm

EP OOH 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Illuminations 9:00 pm

still looks :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Sun Nov 21: AK and MK

AK OOH

MK OOH: 9:00 am to 10:00 pm EMH PM 10:00 pm to 1:00 am Spectro 9:00 pm Wishes 10:00 pm

looks  MK was said to be one of the best -touring plans...w/ EMH I don't know, maybe w/ walking in capablity at night w/ the a few kids could possibly work? TGM says no for evening

Mon Nov 22nd: DHS and MK

DHS OOH: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm w/ EMH PM 8:00-10:00 pm no F!

MK OOH: 9:00 am to 10:00 pm Spectro 9:00 pm Wishes 10:00 pm

still think OK, w/ only doing DHS AM and hitting 4 prime things

just to throw out there EP OOH: 9:00 to 9:00 pm Illuminations 9:00 pm but is not listed best or worst in touring plans and green light for TGM has MK as a yellow choice

Tues Nov 23rd: EP or MK and possible DHS evening for lights? (reminder Rachel b-day at 1900 PF Bfast before park)

EP OOH: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm w/ EHM AM 8:00 to 9:00 am Illuminations 9 pm

MK OOH: 9:00 -10:00 pm Spectro 9:00 pm Wishes 10:00 pm

DHS OOH: 9:00 to 8:00 pm F! 6:30 pm (weird)

so still royaly confused on this day...but think EP not so good in morning :confused3

Wed Nov 24th: EP or MK not an early morning, power tour day just us 6 out to evening!

EP OOH: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Illuminations 9:00 pm

MK OOH: 9:00 am to 10:00 pm Spectro 9:00 pm Wishes 10:00 pm

still looks :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 both showed as Best choices in touring plans and green by TGM...don't think can go wrong w/ either choice today

Fri Nov 26th: AK and DHS or MK at night

AK OOH:

DHS OOH: 9:00 to 8:00 pm F! 6:30 pm

MK OOH: 9:00 am to 10:00 pm Spectro 9:00 pm Wishes 10:00 pm

evening plans all depends on those Osborne Lights...still unsure for this day:confused3

Sat Nov 27th: Ecpot this is suppose to be the WS day seeing the Santas and CLP
EP OOH: 9:00 am to 9:30 pm Illuminations 9:30 pm

day should be OK...but not firm till I have the Holiday entertainment schedule...

Park Days that have ADR hopes:

Sat Nov 20 MK: CRT-lunch and BBB-pre-park open (in park)

Sun Nov 21: Matt Parents Cali Grill mid evening only affected by chance of DHS-lights

Mon Nov 22: HDDR trying for 5 pm show (in between possible MK touring)

Tues Nov 23: 1900 PF-Bfast (before park touring...why want to choose monorail park)

Sat Nov 27: CLP dinner pakage...um only can book if CLP is actually going on?

well thoughts? comments?

Hi all,

so the AK hours are still not showing up? weird :confused3

looked over the EMH schedule that I can see and w/ the hoppers I'm not overally concerned about avoiding these parks like the plague, as you know what it's just going to be crowded no matter what.

The Candlelight Processional Dates have been announced for 2010 to begin on Friday Nov. 26 so this works great according to my original plan of doing that on our final Epcot/Park touring day on Sat the 27th.

I have tweaked the itinerary one more time and have decided...

***the Sunday evening plans Nov 21 for just my 6 (Matt's parents will have an early dinner and time to themselves if I get the Cali Grill ADR

originally it was a hop to MK for dinner, touring and not a late night...so w/ MK having a PM EMH...we'll ponder that. other park choice if not MK :confused3 unsure at this time

***for Rachel's b-day park choice on Tues Nov 23 we'll go w/ MK since Epcot has AM EMH, and wait to decide on evening plans once the Osborne Lights schedule is out.

I will get her picks to guide the touring...my motto this time is to pick 1-4 top things we want to do each time we enter...everything else is gravy...ok how about jello (I love jello )

***then on Wed Nov 24 we'll pick Epcot as our power tour day to finish it off (as the last day-EP- is soley for Holiday stuff!)

Only things to adjust will be our AK days once I actually can see the OOH and then any PM hopping to DHS for the Lights, once that schedule is released.

Up next: ADR choices Options A and options B if I don't get my first choice of date/time/ or place.... only 1 month and 1 day till the ADR day YAY!

Only like option A...never had to use an option B...normally don't plan one...but think it would be wise traveling Thanksgiving week.

PS personal update: My DH Matt is having his spinal surgery (neck) on Monday 4-26 (6 weeks of recovery)

"Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, get this ADR tonight. We'll make a wish and call WDW-Dine, and all those dishes will be mine...."

quote borrowed from Disboard member curioser

Just had to use this quote again about preparing for the BIG ADR day and all that food….it is a crazy thing to think I have been planning and anticipating FOOD that we’ll be eating still over 6 months away…but oh what FUN! :thumbsup2

You know I have already been planning and thinking about the elusive Table Service Meals to be had and how best to utilize the regular DDP plan for our 6, plus my In-laws credits they are paying for and like any good Diser I have been thinking about all the Counter Service choices available for us.

I know everyone has a list of favorites or places they always want to eat or places they like to avoid. Everyone rates their places differently I think based on location, menu, service, seating space, inside, outside, etc.

I also have to take in consideration food allergies…

So let’s begin there…

(Writer’s note: if any of this info really doesn’t interest you feel free to wait till the next post Counter Service: Burgers or no Burgers and seriously how many kid chicken nugget meals do we need?)

Our youngest DD Naomi-Ruth has suffered from food issues her whole little young life…literally from birth and it has been a long struggle to find the balance of what she can eat and can not due to the fact medically we can’t find anything “wrong”. Naomi-Ruth has gone to Disney World twice, once at 18 months and again at 28 months. Neither of these times was she on a fully restricted diet and she came home sick both times from exposure to foods she shouldn’t have had. Since the last trip in March of 2009 a lot has happened in her tummy to bring us to the findings she has a severe GLUTEN sensitivity even though celiac disease has not been proven and also she is not sick if she stays away from cow’s dairy and egg products.

November 2010 present a HUGE challenge of feeding my (soon to be 4 yr old) DD and keeping her healthy.

What can I do? :confused3

Luckily WDW is prepared for such things. It’s not easily or always readily available but they offer many foods that actually fit in the GF, dairy free and egg free diet. Plus they offer tons of info to help me be in the “know” and assist w/ ordering in the Table Service setting.

I emailed Brenda Bennet at special diets and she sent me back several pages of info:

*No Gluten Added Products offered at each of the 4 main parks’ CS restaurants
*No Gluten Added Products offered at Epcot’s TS Restaurants
*A listing of all the TS/CS restaurants that offer Allergy Free Chicken Tenderloins
*WDW Food Allergy/Dietary Reference Sheet (tells me what standard offerings are made of)
*A listing of participating places that carry some specific pre-packaged snacks
*A listing of participating brands & products carried at various locations

I was also sent a Water Parks menu info (which I don’t need on this trip) and a form to fill out and send back w/ our info and the TS places we’ll be dining at (after I make the ADR’s) they will then inform each chef for us in advance.

I have also looked through the Disboards, plus other sites and read forums and taken notes from others who have done this before me and have learned some tips and things I need to do and should do to get the food I need for Naomi.

(hopefully a repeat of the 30 minute soymilk disaster at ABC Comm last yr can be avoided :headache:)

I have carefully thought out each choice of restaurant we’ll eat at and mostly only pick places that I know I can get her something off the regular menu or have special ordered.

Plus a HUGE perk of having the villa I can bring some foods from home, plus order other things to have and prepare and bring into the parks to supplement her meals.

Why go through all this? Seems like an awful lot of work for just a little kid who may not even really eat….

I ask myself the same question…geez is this going to be hard, am I over thinking, over planning one aspect?

I mean she needs to eat right? Plus because she is now traveling at paying age…and we are doing the DDP…I got to get her food.

I am fearful lots of grapes, carrots, applesauce and jello are in her future for 10 days…:sad2:

So what can she eat?

At the parks:

Hamburgers and hotdogs on tapioca or Ener-G (wheat free) buns (she is not a big fan at home)

Allergy free (breaded) chicken tenderloins

Enjoy Life (brand) cookies

Dedicated baked oven fries

Dairy free/tofutti ice cream

Grilled chicken

Chilled chicken (not sure on this one)

Brown rice noodles

GF –jello

Where can she eat?

Surprisingly many places…how easy is it to order this stuff though…well I’ll know soon enough.

This is what I have learned.

When ordering at a CS place, ask to speak to a manager FIRST! Then order specialty items, as well I can ask to see the ingredient lists to help decipher if she can eat the prepared foods.

I have also learned this is not foul-proof. You may run into CM’s that are not helpful or able to provide you w/ a special order. Plus it can take up to 30 minutes if not more to order something not on the menu.

I also think if I am ordering something completely different from the way it is normally prepared you may have more difficulties.

The TS experience should be a bit easier as they have more flexibility and time to prepare and cook items to your specifications and likeness.

If anyone has experience w/ all this stuff or any advice, gladly accept it.

If time allows when we are there, I plan to make notes of our experience w/ ordering and eating on a very restricted diet.

Up next Part two of this food experience: Counter Service: Burgers or no Burgers and seriously how many kid chicken nugget meals do we need?- my “plan” for conquering the gazillion counter food choices and restaurants…or seriously I have too much time on m hands.

Thanks for reading Julie

That really is a lot to take into consideration, but it seems like you have a pretty good handle on it. It's great that WDW has been so helpful and that they do what they can to be accommodating. :thumbsup2 A food allergy shouldn't prevent Naomi-Ruth from having a magical time!! :)

Here's some extra PD :wizard::wizard: that you have a stress-free food experience! I frequently remind myself how lucky we are to not have to deal with food allergies. We did try the gluten free diet for Daniel for a while and since there was no change with him we happily abondoned it.

I've read a trip report from a DISer named sleepingbean that follows GF/CF, here's a link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1512938&highlight=gfcf. She also has a link in her siggie for GF/CF foods they've had at WDW.

I thought I had replied yesterday.....

Sounds like the counter services places could be the hardest to deal with. Is there anything that you can pack with you into the park that she could eat? We brought Liam's lunch in with us a lot of the time in a little cooler that I would fill with ice at the resort and then refresh the ice later at the park to keep it cold.

When we traveled with Aunt Rae she had no problems at TS restaurants and had lots of help from the chefs regarding her menu choices. They often made "special" meals for her... in particular I recall the gluten-free pancakes at Boma and the GF meatloaf at 50's PTC. :thumbsup2 AR said they were delicious!

Heidi is right (above), the CS restaurants are trickier. I read somewhere that if you contact the CS restaurant ahead of time through Disney Dining they can get started on your GF order before you arrive. That would certainly cut down on wait time!

you know I am not sure...I am thinking they have a decicated fyer that no other wheat based or breaded objects go in or hence the baked version...we usally do not get fries often in the parks, so we may skip this all together...but good to know

I hope everything goes well with your daughter's food allergies and your Disney trip. Hopefully, ordering will be easy.

Lots of pixie dust for figuring out ADRs with the food allergies! :wizard:

thank you...more to come on those ADR's...

good luck battling all the food allergies! I am glad you were able to get someone to respond back to you. Another DIS had a horrible experience trying to get information.

it was actually very easy and quick on the reponse..sorry to hear someone didn't have the same experience...

I do plan to...I can easily bring down uncooked noodles from home and cook in the villa. I plan to buy some disposable little gladware type contaniers to fill up and then just pack one in the park bag. Her favorite is this rice bread w/ sunbutter so that is tricky, because I don't think I can get those through a grocery order, so I'll have to figure out how to pack that in the suitcase? more to come on that when we start talking about packing in the fall...

but yes I do plan to bring food for her each day into the parks, etc. but hopefully I can get food as well to order.

Kathy

thanks Kathy for the vote of confidence! I will look into that calling ahead thing...good tip!

Hi Julie!! I'm all caught up with your TR!! Sorry I've been MIA but with our move and all things have been crazy!! How exciting that you get to book your ADRs soon!! I hope you get everything you want! And I read where you wanted to order some clippies for the girls!! No problem!! I would love to make some for your girls!! :goodvibes

First... Yay for 199 days!!:banana:

Second... you know we have had experience dealing with food allergies/intolerances at WDW. I'm glad you contacted Brenda Bennett because she was really helpful for us. :thumbsup2

I feel like I've already written this (maybe here, maybe in an email to you, maybe elsewhere...), so sorry if I'm repeating myself...

Table Services places were great! The chef would always come out and talk with us then make a special meal for Alex. (I saw this happen a couple times with other families during our trip last week.)

Buffets were trickier... the treatment was the same, but the tricky part was that everyone else could eat right away and Alex's food had to be made specially. Sometimes he could eat food from the buffet (though they would bring it out fresh from the back to avoid cross-contamination) and sometimes they made him something not on the buffet.

CS was definitely the hardest. I remember waiting a long time for baked (rather than fried) french fries at Cosmic Rays in 2006. The key for us was for me to go ahead of everyone else and order Alex's meal. This did take time away from things, but at least the kids weren't stuck waiting. I would suggest bringing a sandwich or something else quick & easy that Naomi-Ruth likes to help fill in the holes and avoid too much waiting. (I also highly recommend eating at off-peak times to keep the wait times down.)

Let me know if you have any other specific questions I can answer. :goodvibes

I will say that WDW does a FANTASTIC job of dealing with food allergies... even though it can take too long sometimes.

Thanks for the dancing bananas...

thanks for the tips...you know we'll try and eat off times already to help w/ crowds for Nathan. I am hoping to order in advance or off the reg menu of stuff she can eat minus a bun or something...and yes Matt and I are already thinking at times one of us will have to split to go an pre-order for her.

the villa will be a HUGE help. and good thing she likes the kid meal sides at least will have that.

and irishdancer, I looked at that TR thread and the link in her siggie and hey wdyk....I read her GF/DF link already in my research...cool :thumbsup2 I'm going to PM her to see if she'll look over my dining choices after I pick them for any tips.

UGH!!! :headache: :headache:

I just had a whole post typed here ready to go and I must have done something stupid and I lost it

so try two....

I am working on finishing typing (in Word) my last two FOOD instalment posts (Counter Service and the TS-ADR List), but in the mean time I wanted to share a few other misc things that have to deal w/ planning that I have done over the last few weeks!

Before we get to that please share w/ us in CELEBRATING the twins (Nathan and Rebekah) 11th Birthday today May 7th

:cake: :cake: party: :bday:

I will post pictures, etc from their day and Mom's day begining of next week

* I have been able to sneak in some time to update some of my planning lists, charts, and organize some things

* I purchased a few more things for the overflowing Disney Box: some fruit snacks (hey they were on sale ), a Princess Word search book for a $1 from Target for the girls on the plane, some Princess socks for Rachel and Naomi-Ruth, plus when going through the Spring/Summer clothes bins for the little girls I found some "new" Disney things, 1 I set aside a cute Ratatouie shirt that used to belong to Bekah for Rachel. I also returned the Tink swimsuit/cover-up set I bought Naomi-Ruth as she had 4 suits in her bin, including 1 Disney one.

* speaking of swimming, boy I hope the weather is warm enough so we can get in that pool at least once. It looks so awesome! Here are a few pictures:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/bltppol.png

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/BLT%202010/blthottub.jpg
DH personally can't wait to sit in the Hot Tub, if you look closely at the picture you can tell it is shaped like a certain food item ;)

* I was inspired by Charlefours(Stephanie) latest question "What not to Forget/packing list" on her PTR to get a jump start on looking over my Master WDW Packing list. I was albe to delete a few things and I figured out our "clothes themes" for each day excpet Day 1)...you know I love me some good matchy days  and I will discuss all that as it get's closer to our arrival date.

* On Wednesday nights DH & I like to have no TV nights for the two of us after the kids go to sleep to play games or just sit and chat. After playing a favorite card game, we began discussing the construction paper chain that is hanging in the living room (the girls made it over Spring Break) and we came up w/ a very awesome I have to admit plan to use the chain and coutdown our days till we leave. We decided to start at the 110 mark later at the begining of August. And no I can't tell yet...

* As well another day DH & I decided on a few alternate TS choices for the ADR list in case we don't get our fist pic's.

* I also have done a bunch of BLOG reading and like to share some really good posts:

From WDW Central a post about Avoiding Burn-outs

http://wdwcentral.wordpress.com/2010/04/19/4-brilliantly-fun-ways-to-avoid-burnouts/

From Only WDWorld 7 posts (just keep scrolling down) on Holidays: Holiday storytellers in World Showcase, decorating on a mini scale in Germany, decorations in MK, AK, and DHS particularly the Osborne Lights and Hidden Mickeys found in the lights. :santa:

Also from Only WDWorld a post about how to enjoy yourself during Crowded Seasons:

http://www.onlywdworld.com/2010/03/disney-world-parks-how-to-have-great.html

I also read some really YUM-FUN stuff on FOOD at WDW to share in my upcomign FOOD posts:mickeybar

* Speaking of BLOGS...I owe the readers of my BLOG a May update, so if you want click on the link below to see some news from Julie's Mickey Memories

latest Post: Happy May! (http://juliesmickeymemories.blogspot.com/2010/05/happy-may-its-time-to-update.html)

* Lastly UPCOMING: the 2 FOOD post, my BIG ADR day, a mini get away to Atlanta over Memorial Day weekend and more fun as always :cheer2:

thank you for reading,

The twins 11th Birthday and Mother's Day...

We had a special feast of foods (can't believe I did not take a picture, duh) on Friday night in honor of the twins b-day (Bekah had to give up a movie night at church...that was tough, ahh the pre-teen stuff shall begin). All the Grandparents came over for dinner and I made two meals. Nathan asked for pasta and chicken legs. Bekah asked for tacos and I had soft, hard, the fixings plus mexican rice.

It was alot of food. Then later in the evening my sister and family, plus Matt's sister came over for presnets and dessert. we had yellow cake w/ chocolate frosting-Bekah's choice and Neopalaton (msp) ice cream-Nathan's choice.

As well Matt, I and the kids gave our Mom's and their Grandma and Grammie their Mom's day presents.

Here are some pictures from that night:

The twins w/ most of their presnets before opening:

Bekah excited about an itunes card (more music for her MP3)

Nathan recieved some camping things for this summer

Bekah loved this gift...my wonderful chelist

Nathan loved getting this! HP wizard chess

With their Dad...yes that is the brace Matt has been wearing 24 hrs a day for the past 2 weeks

Then on Saturday My borther helped my throw the twins kid party for about 12 of their friends. We had a sports/baseball themed party at our church in their gym. We played bean bag toss, Knock out (basketball game) and then wiffleball. DH made these clever spur of the moment Team pins National and American League. We had a hot dog feast and Idrove 20 + minutes away to buy caramel corn w/ no nuts for the party...it was good! and the twins opened presents and we had brownies for dessert. they were excited to be 1111 this yr.

Here is the group:

and this just captures my wonderful twins...born together but so different:

http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Dizmama5/108_5513.jpg

On Mother's Day...we did not go to church, but had a lazy day of nothing till the afternoon. The kids were so excited to open the W. Cafe and present me w/ breakfast in bed...a first. yes I'm in my jammies, un showerd and no make-up. (hence why you get one pic of me)

Fixing it up:

As well you know no occassion can go by w/out a little Disney fix.

Nathan recieved the 3 books in the Kingdom Keepers Disney series from us and from Matt for Mother's Day to me (which I bought since he can't drive yet) I got two new Disney books.

The Unofficial Guides Color Companion and The Imaginering Guide to the Magic Kingdom
Plus a whole morning in bed...looking at Disney stuff and youtube videos w/ rachel...she thinks she wants to try Test Track this year and possibly Splash Mountain...she still says no for HM.

we watched some video no images but could hear the sounds and she says oh that is when you go backwards....I laughed so hard. for a kid who says they don't like this ride, she sure knows it.

Coming soon the Next Food post!

thanks for reading,

J~

Part Two of Scrappie’s Food Discussion…

Counter Service:

So what can one do while sitting in a hospital waiting room and care room while her husband is having surgery and being cared for…I had over 12 hrs to spend sitting and waiting and watching two weeks ago when Matt had his spinal surgery…Disney to the rescue! It was able to keep my mind occupied. Which was good, it was a bit overwhelming.

****BTW: Matt's post up check Tues 5-11 went great, the brace is off and he went back to work....I hope he takes my advice and takes it easy and just does a half day today. He can wear the brace as needed for discomfort or support and has low-impact no lifting over 20 lbs still for 4 more weeks and doesn't need to be seen for 3 months...not bad I guess after have spinal pieces fused and a huge metal plate plus screws permantly attached in his neck ;)

I went over all DDP credits again to make sure I was tallying up the point totals correctly for our 8 nights on the plan for my family members and then the GP’s (grandparents) credits…

Good thing too, I had miscalculated somewhere and thought I had one more meal coming to us on the DDP (CS) then we actually did…whew.

Easy enough to fix as the day we have a TS breakfast, I can "schedule" a snack credit lunch which can be easily had at the Magic Kingdom…pretzels, dole whips, giant cinnamon rolls, sounds good to me.

After figuring out the credit totals (8 nights = 8 TS credits to be split over 2 reg TS and 3 sig TS; 8 CS credits to be split over 8 CS lunches/dinners and the plenty of SC which we have 48 between the 6 of us and the GP’s extra credits will give us 2 adult TS credits and 6 CS credits for one more CS meal BONUS!)

I then went through menus I had already printed for most of the restaurants we were thinking of choosing and specifically the CS places…I want to make sure we have a fine balance of burger to non burger choices…With all those delicious snacks, we should try to eat somewhat healthy, not to mention 9 ½ days of burgers gets old real quick. And of course I made a chart ;)

I also went through each CS menu (no guarantees on the 100% accuracy here, but hopefully a good representation) and jotted down what Naomi-Ruth could eat at each place from the menu selection and the info I received from WDW special diets…which I do believe there is a discrepancy in the menu from Studio Cat Co in DHS…:confused3

 I plan to make little cheat sheet cards of her choices in advance.

I also jotted down in my handy “burger to no burger chart” the amount of chicken nugget to no chicken nugget meals were offered.

Now to my list of Counter Service picks…

I have basically come up w/ at least two choices per park and per dining time. I will narrow it down once I make up more goal specific touring plans as it gets closer…

So how did I choose?

These are our determining factors:

1) Can it accommodate Naomi-Ruth’s needs?

2) Does it have non burger options and other kid options beside chick nug’s?

3) Is it a place that the GP’s would like?

4) Is it a favorite among our family?

5) Is it something new or have we just ate there in 09 or 08?

Choices by Park:

Magic Kingdom

We should eat here only once for a CS dinner (bummer).

Cosmic Rays for the nice diverse menu more than just burgers and, yes to food accommodation, fav among our family

Or

Columbia Harbor House for the great food, great seating area, fav among our family and yes to food accommodation

Animal Kingdom

We should eat here for at least two meals (lunch).

FTBBQ for the yes to food accommodation, nice menu, great outdoor seating area, we did not eat there in 09 thinks GP’s would enjoy

Or

Restaurantsarus for yes to food accommodation, indoor seating (but can get crowded), like the fixings bar

Disney Hollywood Studios

We should eat here 1 to 2 times a lunch and possible dinner

Studio Catering Co for maybe food accommodation, nice menu choices I believe new updated menu (this is where confusion lies…WDW diets says they gave certain things but the new menu posted on AllEars as of March ’10 and saw pictures I think on a Dis-cast does not list the same things. Have not eaten here since maybe the late 90’s so I want to give it a try.

Or

Backlot Express for possible non burger choices, yes to food accommodation, have not eaten here in awhile.

Epcot

This is the one park we’ll consume most of meals…not sure how it worked this way…but at least there is plenty of choices. At least 4 CS meals (combo of lunch and dinners)

World Showcase picks:

Yakitori House in Japan-never have eaten here, something new, really think GP’s would enjoy this. The kid menu has chicken legs which all my kids enjoy (w/ exception of Naomi) HAS ANYONE EVER EATEN HERE? THOUGHTS?

Liberty Inn in USA is a good stand-by has food accommodation for Naomi (one of the few in WS) and we like the outdoor seating, usually never crowded.

Tangerine Café in Morocco I really like this place, food and ambience, meets the non burger criteria but nothing else.

We must make snack credit stops in Norway and France too!

Future World picks:

Sunshine Seasons in the Land, have not eaten here in a long time, have to plan the timing right in here. Menu sounds really fun and lots of choices, yes to food accommodation too.

Electric Umbrella like that it has indoor seating, yes food accommodation, did not eat here in 09

So here is a look at my Burger to Non-Burger choices chart and the chicken nugget meals for kids:

BH= Mainly Burger/Hotdog Menus NBH= Alternate Menu Options

Both= obvious

KCN= Kid Chicken Nugget Meals BFN= Bring Food for Naomi-Ruth
(questionable accommodation available)

Fri POP: food court: Both, KCN, BFN lunch MP: EOS: NBH dinner

Sat no CS lunch EPCOT: Yakitori: NBH, BFN dinner

Sun AK: Rest-saurus: BH, KCN or
FTBBQ: NBH lunch MK: Cosmic: both, KCN
CHH: NBH, KCN dinner

Mon DHS: Studio: NBH, KCN, BFN or BLE: Both, KCN lunch no CS dinner

Tue MK: various snack credits-?both, BFN lunch DHS (see above) or CR: Contempo Café: NBH, BFN dinner

Wed EPCOT: Sunshine: NBH lunch EPCOT: Liberty Inn: BH, KCN or
Tangierine: NBH, KCN, BFN dinner

Thurs no CS meals today

Fri AK: (see above) lunch no CS dinner

Sat EPCOT: ElecUm: BH lunch or dinner

Hope that makes sense (sorry didn't paste over in the nice little boxes)….helps me to know that we hopefully will have an overall balance between mostly Burger choices and non burger choices and that the Kid Chicken Nugget Meal doesn’t always have to be eaten….

plus the big help is which days/times I know I HAVE to have food for Naomi-Ruth…of course I’ll always have emergency foods, after all she is 3 (just turning 4) and at home her main staple is sunbutter on rice bread, bologna (yes gross) vegan cheese and rice crackers, naked nuggets, and veggie or rice pasta for most meals…other than what I specifically prepare that she can eat….

If you are wondering where is breakfast?

Well basically every day w/ the exception of 2 (for sure) breakfast will be eaten in the villa (consisting of a grocery order) and the two for sure exceptions are Rachel’s b-day the hopeful 1900 PF Breakfast and then our first morning on Sat 20th will be a grab and go from POP food court/stuff brought from home.

Love to hear feedback on my choices:

Like a ton, would eat there every day OR hate strongly like a stinky old shoe or anything that you ate, that you crave daily….:rolleyes1

Thanks for reading…

Hi Julie!

I'm home....:sad2:. Oh well....all good things must come to an end. I'll have to wait a week or two before approaching Jeff with plans for our next vacation! :lmao:

Looks like the twins had a great birthday! I actually remembered you telling me that their birthday was on the 7th and thought of them while Jeff and I were enjoying our AMAZING dinner at Boma!

How fun that the kids prepared you a Mother's Day feast! I enjoyed being in Florida for Mother's Day, but missed the cute things my boys would have done for me if I had been at home. Your little ones sure love you a ton!

Your CS choices look really good. You have a few of my faves on the list...Cosmic Rays, Flame Tree, Columbia Harbour House, Sunshine Seasons. And of course my VERY favorite.......Tangierine Cafe! YUMMMMM!! We ate at Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill's on Saturday and enjoyed both. I wish I had been able to pop over to Morocco though! ;)

WOW!!! Now THAT is an impressive post!! I love how you tracked what types of foods were offered at each place so you wouldn't be eating the same stuff all week--very smart!!! :thumbsup2

Magic Kingdom

Cosmic Rays - I like it.....nothing here I really crave....but I'm a sucker for those fixin' bars....I like to make myself a salad with them!

Or

Columbia Harbor House - tuna sandwich here was really good, DH liked his fish and chips. If you eat here early I bet you'd have the place about to yourselves.

Animal Kingdom

FTBBQ- I really enjoyed this meal in 2009. You can order the chicken al a carte so you don't have to get those nasty beans.

Restaurantsarus- Still haven't tried this but it's on the list again for the next trip.

Disney Hollywood Studios

We should eat here 1 to 2 times a lunch and possible dinner

Studio Catering Co - I have never liked the menu at this place....even thou they keep changing it!

Backlot Express - I've eaten here a few times (years ago) but I much prefer the Sunset Market area on Sunset Blvd...there is like 4 different places with a common seating area there. Let me know if you need me to list the names of the CSs here so you can see the menus.

Epcot

World Showcase picks:

Yakitori House in Japan- nothing on the menu here appeals to me so I've never eaten here.

Liberty Inn in USA - I agree it's a great stand by for the kids....but as an adult there are too many other good places to eat in WS

Tangerine Café in Morocco - no thanks......

We must make snack credit stops in Norway and France too! YES!!!

Future World picks:

Sunshine Seasons in the Land, I haven't eaten here since 1984 so I don't think my review would be valid at this point! lol but lots of people love this place.

Electric Umbrella - we are always in WS for meals so this one doesn't appeal to me either.

What about the new Mexican place for lunch? It will be open by the time you go. It will be CS for Lunch and TS for dinner.

Have I stopped by yet to welcome you back... I think so, but anyways...hope the cruise and MK were just wonderful!
thanks for all the sweet words and :thumbsup2 on my CS choices

yes....it's a little Dis-obsessed :rolleyes1

Cosmic Rays - I like it.....nothing here I really crave....but I'm a sucker for those fixin' bars....I like to make myself a salad with them!

which restaurant did I just read they don't have the fixin bar anymore  It has to be one of these...cause I just printed menus
Or

Columbia Harbor House - tuna sandwich here was really good, DH liked his fish and chips. If you eat here early I bet you'd have the place about to yourselves.

in 05 or 08 we ate upstairs and it was empty and quiet...nice:cloud9:

Animal Kingdom

FTBBQ- I really enjoyed this meal in 2009. You can order the chicken al a carte so you don't have to get those nasty beans.

this is my top choice for this trip at AK!

Restaurantsarus- Still haven't tried this but it's on the list again for the next trip.
maybe this is the one w/ no fixin bar anymore  ate here in 05...it's ok...but if they can feed Naomi-Ruth it's my second choice for now

Disney Hollywood Studios

We should eat here 1 to 2 times a lunch and possible dinner

Ok seriously why is there no good places to eat [at DHS]...:confused3

Studio Catering Co - I have never liked the menu at this place....even thou they keep changing it! I want to say we ate here back in 1998...but this is what I believe the new menu is from AllEars...

Pressed Tuscan Deli
Chicken Caesar Wrap
Buffalo Chicken (which I read isn't very buffalo-y)
Turkey Club...apple wood bacon, swiss, roasted red pepper, arugul, sunflower panini bread served w/ apple slices or fries...sounds kind of yummy to me
Grilled Vegetable
Greek Salad

Kids
mac and cheese
uncrustable PB & J
chicken nuggets (shown in menu picture)

Backlot Express - I've eaten here a few times (years ago) but I much prefer the Sunset Market area on Sunset Blvd...there is like 4 different places with a common seating area there. Let me know if you need me to list the names of the CSs here so you can see the menus.

Ok so I admit I am intigued byt the Sunset market...but it seems so remote from the main part of the Studios...is that good for less crowds or bad for backtracking  The menus can accomodate Naomi which is a plus and sounds nice too...location is my issue at the moment. I'll keep in mind...thanks

Epcot

World Showcase picks:

Yakitori House in Japan- nothing on the menu here appeals to me so I've never eaten here.

Ok I admit nothing jumps out at me either...but I've read good reviews and I know my inlaws would like it...their kind of place...Sat night potentially will be their only time in Epcot while they are w/ us...

my goals are Soarin, SSE, maybe TT and a good WS meal catering to them not us...all my kids (minus Naomi) like chicken on the bone...so the kid meal would work and it's not nuggets

We ate in Mexico just about every trip...and it's kinda borring at this point...maybe new menu and seating, but w/ it only being lunch wouldn't work on the 2nd day...Ecpot will be dinner. any other choices...Matt does not like fried fish...

Liberty Inn in USA - I agree it's a great stand by for the kids....but as an adult there are too many other good places to eat in WS

yes yes I know...

Tangerine Café in Morocco - no thanks......

really?

We must make snack credit stops in Norway and France too! YES!!!

Future World picks:

Sunshine Seasons in the Land, I haven't eaten here since 1984 so I don't think my review would be valid at this point! lol but lots of people love this place.

Ok I think that date puts me back to eating there then too...I just remember loving looking at the balloons...

the menu sounds good and different then the normal stuff Ok maybe on Sat since Soarin is # 1 and we have to go in the Land anyways this would be a good choice to eat at w/ the GP's has the asian flare menu items too and more choices for the kids...Ok Heidi I am thinking an typing at the same time...

Electric Umbrella - we are always in WS for meals so this one doesn't appeal to me either.

pretty basic yes I agree...but for now for the kid factor outweighing the adults...got to please them too..besides Fall 2011 F&WF and 2 adults alone....see it on my horizon popcorn::

What about the new Mexican place for lunch? It will be open by the time you go. It will be CS for Lunch and TS for dinner.

Ok so what about China CS Lotus Blossom...thoughts :confused3

no worries just added it to my list during my "thinking" outloud to Heidi's reply ;)

Have to look up the current menu...have not eaten there since 1998 before kids...would be a non Naomi place...but we can probably get her fruit from Norway :confused3

Here are my two cents...
Cosmic Rays - We always end up eating here at least once for the great variety. You guys should be OK with the extra adults, but we find it difficult to deal with the three different "bays" for ordering. We had extra hands when we were there this year so it worked out well. Finding enough seats all together was our biggest issue...

CHH - Love it!! Ate there for the first time last year and visited again this year. Great meal, great seating!

FTBBQ - Love it! Except for the birds... :headache: Actually the only CS place we've eaten at AK.

Restaurantasaurus (sp?) - never eaten there...

DHS - Somehow, with all the time we spend at DHS, the only CS place we've eaten at DHS is Pizza Planet... and that was several years ago... I guess we usually eat TS or spend small chunks of time there then move on and eat at another park... :confused3

Yakitori House - haven't tried...

Liberty Inn - ate there this year, for the first time in several years, and found it very crowded even later in the lunch day (around 2pm). But there were MANY school groups at Epcot that day & I think a bunch of them ate there. Food was OK - chicken nuggets & burgers...

Tangerine Cafe - never eaten there... I think Tim is missing out on some good food by traveling with me... :rolleyes1

Sunshine Seasons - almost ate there this year, but couldn't find anything Alex would eat. (Need to remember to bring PB sandwiches for him next time).

Electric Umbrella - somehow never eaten here... almost ate here this year, but decided to have a snack and wait until we got to Liberty Inn.

We also ate breakfast at our condo every day - I think you'll really like having the flexibility of the DVC kitchen!!

I think overall your choices are great! :thumbsup2

One pro, in my book, is that Electric Umbrella has their own soda stations, so you can refill as need be.
This is probably an illogial thought, but Sunshine Season rocks for vegetarians, so I'd think it would be good for Naomi-Ruth.

where do you eat girl? JK....

I AM looking forward to the kitchen immensely even planning to bake a cake...now that is a first!

Yes LI in Epcot is packed inside but the outside area does not seem to be...

Yakitori house is scratched as of yesterday...Heidi and location/goalss for that Ecpot afternoon made more sense to me.

Birds...yes and ducks...I seem to have more issues w/ the ducks then the birds...looking forward to FTBBQ.

we like pizza planet...but too difficult to try and do a special order pizza for Naomi and I feel bad if we are all eating pizza and she is not. besides she likes her "pizza" the way I make it at home. slice of rice bread w/ pizza sauce and melted rice cheese...tried the GF pizza crust and she won't eat it.

I was often worried too that the kids wouldn't eat at SS in the Land too...but I am hopeful this yr.

Totaly not illogical...I saw listed a black bean soup...ever tired that? Naomi-Ruth is so-so w/ beans. But we are trying to get her to eat more green salads. She pracitcally is a veggie beside the few meat products I can prepare for her.

OK so last night I was freaking out ADR Monday was next week but it's still one more week beyond that....

think I have it all figured out and like it...but the morning resort switch is becoming quite the HUMDINGER...pain in my Disney Magic...:headache:

will post soon about that and then onto the list....

Love reading about your dining choices!! We are "planning" a possible trip Tiving week now too so it's helping me get into gear before the 24th.

Here are my opinions FWIW.....

- MK -
Cosmic Rays - eat there often but find the multiple ordering stations difficult since DH, DS9 and DD8 like burgers/nuggets and DD13 and I want the chicken/rib meal.

CHH - LOVE IT, especially the upstairs eating area. :lovestruc

- AK -
FTBBQ - another LOVE IT unless it's hot then we end up at Pizzafari
Restaurantsarus - never tried it

- DHS -
Studio Catering - never been
Backlot - never been
The only CS I can remember eating at is Pizza Planet, the CS options at DHS are seriously lacking! :sad2:

- Epcot -
WS
Yakitori - never been
Liberty Inn - not bad, can take it or leave it
Tangerine Cafe - LOVE IT!
Lotus Blossom Cafe - used to eat there a lot but they changed the menu a few years ago and got rid of their Lotus Blossom special which was our favorite.
FW
Sunshine Seasons -lots of options, we love it
Electric Umbrella - can take it or leave it but the kids like it because it has nuggets.

Well, now my mouth is watering!! Time for me to really get going on planning, I'm off to check menus and put together a plan! We'll have to meet soon - school's almost out!

Great CS choices! I love how you organized your choices into burger and non-burger options. So smart!

I love Cosmic Rays. The options are great. My SIL is a vegetarian and liked the veggie burger here.

I haven't tried FTBBQ, but have done Restaurantasaurus a few times. When I have the chicken, I'm fine. However both times I ordered the burger, I got sick. So, when I go, I stay away from the burger. But I tend to have stomach issues, so I'm thinking it has something to do with me. My dad has a stomach like steel and it doesn't bother him.

I have had nothing but good experiences at Electric Umbrella and Sunshine Seasons. The choices at Sunshine Seasons is great. And there's lots of seating.

I really hope everything works out with your daughter and the food accomodations. It's so difficult when you have an allergy or sensitivity.

What do you recommend at CHH? We're going to try it for the first time this summer.

You know that isn't a bad idea at all...Monday is the day we'll go to DHS in the morning and want to leave around the lunch crowds anyways as it is an eve EMH...yes I know I'm breaking 1 Diser rule of thought never go to a EMH park ...but this is the only way to work it. and I was hoping to potenially go to that area and look at some Christmas decorations...and it would be fun to check out our top 2 choices for the 2011 anni trip too.

anyone know which resort has the chocolate carousel?

so any recommendations :confused3

so do I...at this point it is one of the two things I am nervous about...(other thing the resort switch logistics :headache:)

What do you recommend at CHH? We're going to try it for the first time this summer.

I LOVE the BLT salad...I am a sucker for anything w/ bacon and it's a nice change from burgers and chicken.

the anchors aweigh sandwich (the picture in the above post) is yummy too...it's tuna salad w/ lettuce and tomato. Others have had the fried fish, shrimp and combo...never a complaint!

upstairs is nice and quiet and I think it was 05 they brough our order up to us...but we carried the stroller up the stairs...is there an elevator.

there is some from Hidden Magic stuff in that book I have read too. :thumbsup2

I haven't had the soup. I've had the tofu soup, which probably has gluten, and the asian sampler (had rice and steamed veggies, but I know sometimes soy sauce can contain gluten).
Also, the restaurant opening where McD's at DTD was (Pollo Campero) is having a section called "Fresh-a-peel" which will include gluten free and vegetaria. options (http://wdwnotjustforkids.com/vegetarian/im-looking-forward-to-pollo-campero/), supposedly.

oy that gluten issue....we are going on a family outing today which includes a picnic and I bought Pringles...but she can't eat those either...

So I should be at church right now…but DH is not feeling good this morning…as I feared after 3 full days back to work, helping around the house and walking around for 6 hours + w/ activity yesterday at the 100th Anniversary Scout –o-Rama for Boy Scouts…he is out….

A couple of the kids’ allergies were in full force as well…so we had to call it a wash this morning…as we are heading out later this morning for another full day: my hometown’s big Spring Parade and then a BBQ back at my parents…

So I was up at before 6 am…yuck…and didn’t go to sleep to after 11 pm w/ falling asleep w/ a wide awake Naomi-Ruth squished next me…(brought her back to bed after midnight)

Did some laundry, cleaned up, paid the mortgage, packed school lunches, got Naomi-Ruth’s snacks for the parade…now before I serve, yes serve donuts for breakfast… let’s talk DISNEY,

Shall we?

Ok last Wed morning I called Disney Dining twice…once about the CLP package which confirmed mrsksomeday’s thoughts on how this works w/ booking and how I can not book this till waaaayyyyy after my ADR window :headache: and then I called back and talked to a super nice bubbly CM about BBB.

After that conversation I called DVC member services (thank you for the 1 800 number) and asked if my in-laws would have there own keys to our BLT room…yes they do. Good because we may split up several times and they have that one dining time away from us and need to “pay” w/ the DDP credits…

But then the eh news to the so-so news, to the good news….plummeted to the deepest darkest pit almost like a ride on ToT except my “screams” were not of frightful joy…but of oh carp….

I always had this bad feeling in my stomach w/ this whole split stay thing and how the switch over on our first full day at WDW (day 2) Naomi-Ruth’s b-day could become comprised because of the check-out of POP and need to get “checked-in” at BLT would cause. :guilty:

UGHHHHHHHH! There is no pixie dust going on here….

So this is the deal my friends…and please tell me I am not crazy….:scared:

If anyone has ever done this, is this truly how it works?

So here is the basic plan of Day 1) arriving and the morning of Day 2) (KIM the times are all approximates at this point because I am yet to book our flights and the ADR/ BBB making is occurring a week away)

Day 1) Friday Nov. 19th leaving from Midway in south-side Chicago…

Hoping for a 8:30/9 ish flight…basically just need a non-stop no lay-over flight, don’t want to leave at the crack of dawn…but don’t want to leave too late either…

So figure we’ll be arriving at MCO before 1 pm FL time and getting to POP hopefully no later than 2 pm…

Check-in, maybe rooms will be ready…have lunch at POP food court and then walk around the resort and check out the stuff…

Once in rooms, all or some of us will hop a bus to the Market place…objectives here:

1) DH and I buy our AP’s

2) have dinner at EOS

3) a little pre-shopping, but plan to come back again during the week…

Then back to POP, want to be settled for bed no later than 9 pm…

Have no room organizing to do since this is only a 1 night stay. Plan to have Friday night needs and Saturday morning’s needs in one suitcase…so we are not rummaging through multiple bags…

Day 2) Saturday Nov 20th….check-out POP, check-in BLT, BBB pre-park opening at MK…

So here is where the “fun” begins…this is so not how I want to start our first real day at Disney…but trying to stay pixie-dust positive here…

Obviously the check-out slip will be under our day the day before…we have called that number already…

Buying some juice/milk and fruit from the food court the night before and will put on ice for the night since no little fridge, plus I’ll have brought from home some muffins or pop tarts for quick breakfast in room…need to save time here…

DH and I will need to wake up well before 6 am in the morning…luckily w/ the two rooms we’ll have two bathrooms and get be getting ready simultaneously.

By 6 am the kids will need to be aroused…are you kidding me?

Eat, dress, re-pack up pj’s and morning toiletries all before 6:30 am

Call bell services too pick up our bags…do they even operate this early?

Call for a cab pick up at 6:45 am for Matt and Nathan (and our park bag plus stroller) at the POP lobby…oh man I hope our room is close.

Matt and Nathan leave and go to CR to pre-register for our stay at BLT.

The girls and I leave by 7 am to catch a bus to MK…drops us at TTC (since the pre-park opening buses drop you here not at MK :headache: hop the monorail to MK and if all goes well we are arriving by 7:40 ish am…

Matt and Nathan should be waiting for us there w/ our keys to BLT (so we’ll have DDP capabilities now) or be shortly behind…we are slightly nervous if they arrive after we have gone in they may not be allowed to enter even w/ our BBB confirmation number…

BBB appointments for all 3 girls approx 8:05 am….

We’re in, we are here, let’s have some FUN! Please……:worship:

OK some explanations…

When I booked the BLT stay w/ the intention to have the split stay and decided on it being our first night, I thought I was informed we could come pre-register at CR for our BLT stay as soon as it was the 20th…

So my first thought is ok 12:00 am (midnight)…thought I was told yes….

When I talked to MS last week…uh no that is not so….

I don’t get it…the check-in counter area is said to be open 24 hrs a day…but I can not come and pre-register to get our keys till at the very earliest 6 am on the 20th….

WHY!!!!?????!!!!!

Matt thinks it is something to do w/ schedule change…or maybe I just don’t understand this 24hr thing or maybe midnight is just not considered the next day in Disney… :confused3

So because we have to get our luggage moved by bell services at POP to be taken to BLT for us and I want to do the pre-park BBB for the girls on Naomi’s b-day so we are done when the park is opening and get in some touring w/ low crowds and then do lunch at CRT and then finally get over to BLT….this day is turning our to be a humdinger of an early start….

Matt has to go and pre-register so early cause we need our keys or we can’t “pay” for the CRT meal and if he or I go and do it later in the morning…one of will miss stuff…yes I know I have the GP’s…but this is Naomi’s b-day and we are not rushing the GP’s if they are ready when we leave cool…if not we’ll meet up later.

I am figuring I should allow at least 40+ minutes of travel from POP to the gates at MK…sound right to you guys?

Any thoughts?

TIA…

J~

Yuck! What a mess... I'm pretty sure bell services start pretty early... we had an early flight home last year and had bell services at our door at the crack of dawn on our departure day to pick up our luggage & drive us up to Custom House to meet the ME bus.

I find it strange that you have to wait until 6am... I would call the resort directly if you can. Do you read HappyDog's reports? They took an impromtu trip during the Jan/Feb blizzards & arrived at AKL in the middle of the night - it was after 12 but they let them check-in super duper early (like not charged that night)... Here is a link...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2398095 They checked in on page 3.

OK - I guess it was 4 or 5 am when they checked in, but definitely before 6...

My understanding is that it is 6am for check-in -even if you don't care about getting into the room. If it was midnight....can you imagine how many people wouldn't get a room for that first evening and try to get into a room before dawn and camp out in the lobby?

My only concern with your plan is you and the girls getting from POP to MK in time. I would really consider taking a taxi from POP to MK (I guess they drop you off at the TTC, right?) For me an extra $20-$25 would be worth it not to stress about being late.

Tell me again why you aren't staying at BLT the first night?

I agree with Heidi's taxi suggestion.
Or you could take a taxi with Matt and Nathan to BLT. Once you get there, they could go check in and you and the girls can walk to MK. There are mini van taxis, so fitting everyone shouldn't be a problem.

Yes you are right on the soy...

oy that gluten issue....we are going on a family outing today which includes a picnic and I bought Pringles...but she can't eat those either...

thanks for the good info on the DTD restaurant. Is this a CS then?

Yepp-it's replacing Mc Donalds, so it's a CS.
I'd be inclined to just cab it to BLT. Is having the GP's take the taxi and check in at BLt while you're doing BBB an option?

Good idea Jenn for them to share the taxi...that would save $$. And if every thing is going smoothly then Matt & Nate can go over to the MK with you....should be plently of time.

I have to agree with the idea of taking the taxi! It is only about 15-20 for your peace of mind! I have taken the taxi from POP to Contemporary and it was no issue and the walk from the Contemporary to MK takes no more than 5 minutes which would beat trying to wait for the resort monorail which would be the only one running that early in the morning to get you there before 8am!

I agree on sharing the taxi and walking to MK, it's a very quick walk and then you are all together.

If you were concerned about timing for Bell Services, you could just drop off your luggage at BS Pop when you check in and request that it be transferred to BLT the next day. Then just take like one suitcase into Pop. In the morning, just take that one suitcase with you in the taxi to BLT. Then at BLT go to Bell Services, check it in there (and alert them that you have more coming from Pop). Voila! No waiting for BS at Pop at all!

It does sound like a busy morning ... but hopefully everyone is all excited about being in MK and has extra energy so you are all enjoying BBB and the meal and not just trudging through it all.

Now my family -- we are exhausted from the plane/car or ME, check-in, etc and my DH has requested we take it easy on arrival day and first full day at Disney. So I've built in an extra day or two to account for that. We used to go for a week...now we go for 9 nights/10 days!:lmao:

good to hear...

Ok it makes sense now by how Heidi explains it...why are you not a CM girl?

yes I am wigged out about this...this Day 2) plan was all put to play thinking we were at BLT the whole stay and walking over....I have my heart set on this....

Tell me again why you aren't staying at BLT the first night?

POINTS...pure and simple...figured at the time makes sense to start small then finish w/ the switch...now i don't know  we needed to save points we are borrowing from 2011 for Matt and I anniversary trip next fall.

I agree with Heidi's taxi suggestion.

mini van taxi never thought of that...this sounds way doable...

Matt and I are the DVC members so it has to be one of us...the GP's are considered our "guests"

Oh Man Masha, I never would have thought of that...we are doing DME...so I guess after I book our flights next month...I was going to explian the split stay info anyways...and I can call POP the week of I bet and ask for the luggage not to be delievered to the rooms...we can just go over get the one bag later and that would be so much easier....hopefully the GP's can arrange their luggage the same way.

It does sound like a busy morning ... but hopefully everyone is all excited about being in MK and has extra energy so you are all enjoying BBB and the meal and not just trudging through it all.

that is what I am hoping...

Yes...we need that non-park day on the arrival too....good to just settle in, like you we learned the hard way not to really "schedule" anything on Day 1) arrival...

we bounce back pretty quick for the 1st park...but certaintly duely noted...if it wasn't Naomi-Ruth's b-day it may not be a big deal...

now let's just hope next Monday my ADR/ and BB appt making all goes well...

wow thanks again all,

I feel way more at ease...

so for those of you who have cabbed from 1 resort to another...what time do we need to call, do we call the lobby or is there a cab # and if we want to be up to CR around 7 am to check-in for BLT.

Is still calling for a cab pick up around 6:45 am good?

TIA again

PS my tickers are out again....UGH!!! but less than 1 week now to making the ADR's...and almost less than 6 months till the trip... YAY!!!!!

Wow! It makes me tired just reading about that switch. We've done split stays but always have our own car so we don't have that transport issue.

The taxi to BLT sounds like the best option. I didn't know the resort busses went to the TTC, we've had before park opening ADRs and never had that issue. Guess you learn something new every day!

I always have Bell Services or Valet (at the Deluxes) get me a cab. There are usually a few parked in the parking lot just waiting. But if you need a mini van one....I think they might need to be called.

you're telling me :faint:

me neither...read it in the Unofficial guide...so maybe it's not right, last pre-park Mk we did was 08 and we were on the monorail...so didn't have the bus issue...

I agree with Native New Yorker, make the arrangements for the taxi when you check into Pop the night before you need it...esp since you want a mini-van taxi.

You might even want to confirm when you wake up that morning, since you'll be on a tight schedule.:goodvibes

I have 12 pm as my 1st choice, as that is partially my guess and partially what I think is true at least for CRT, listed as start time on the menu from Allears & in the unofficial guide book, Unofficial Guide book lists Tutto Italia as lunch starting 11:30 am...

I'm lovin' your list! :thumbsup2

I think 7:45 at Cali Grill should be perfect for 9:00 fireworks.

Definitely need to have the credit card for CRT.

PassPorter says WCC begins serving dinner at 5:00. I would say, the earlier the better for Thanksgiving Dinner. People will be more apt to take their time at dinner and you don't want to get held up if you're in a later time slot!

I definitely remember reading somewhere that Grand Gatherings ressies have to be done on the phone...

Lots of luck, Scrappie!!!!

Good luck with the ressies!! pixiedust:

I would suggest that you add 2 or 3 to your cart then check out. Then go in again and do the rest. Do the most important ones first... I've heard of people timing out or losing things in their cart before they have had a chance to check out. And yes, I think you'll need a CC for CRT. At least I did when I made my ADR... had to pay in full since we weren't on a dining plan. I think you have to pay then they refund you at some point later?? Not positive on that though... :confused3

Your plans look good!! :thumbsup2
