I read on Marys site that these are sometimes offered. Yet I just called and the CM told me that there is no such thing. She said I have pages and pages of codes and would not even know what to look for...has anyone ever gotten the "Managers Special"?
Thanks

I remember there being a managers special for the Animal Kingdom Lodge last year right after the place opened. But, haven't seen any more since then.

I have seen posts from some saying that they got specials too. I asked the Polynesian when I called them directly and they said there was no such thing with them either. Carolyn

Yes there are such things as "manager's specials"!!:D
We have been offered them at various resorts. It usually ends up being a deluxe.
But ALWAYS ASK!!! :D
I have had cast members on the phone actually say "hhmmmmm, let me check if there may be any manager specials for that time!"
It is something that will only pop up if the CRO looks on the screen and punches in various information.
We did actually get "manager's specials" at Disney Institute and Old Key West. And they were called "manager's specials" by the CRO. DI was in May '98 and OKW was in Oct '99.
We were offered one at AKL lodge for last Oct, but we were trying to really go cheap, so we stayed at All Star for $49/night.
So I would bet they are more common during off periods.
Good Luck!!:D

Manager of what?
I've read that the managers of the various resorts can decide to offer specials (especially if they have vacancies and want to stimulate business). A CM told me to always ask if there were any manager's specials available when calling for a discount, and we've received them several times. They have been excellent rates --- similar to AP rates.
Perhaps the CMs who hadn't heard of this just haven't come across it before, or perhaps there haven't been any offered recently, with the huge number of codes available.
