HELLOOOO EVERYBODY!
I've been lurking on these boards for quite some time now and everyone has the best tips and trip reports! Especially about the Zulu warrior wife! LOL!

I'm a newbie to cruising and DCL will be my first cruise. I had a couple of questions for all of you DCL Veterans oyt there:
1. When you purchase wine through room service, do they charge you a corkage fee?

2.Am I correct in assuming that you tip absoloutly NO ONE, until the very end of the cruise? (Including Palo)

3.What is the best type of luggage to bring? AE Rolling or LARGE duffel bags. And where is the best place to purchase these items; either online or otherwise?

Thank you very much in advance everybody! Looking forward to getting to know everybody!

When you purchase wine through room service, do they charge you a corkage fee? Some clarification about corkage fees... this is a fee that restaurants add when you bring your own bottle. It is intended to discourage patrons from bringing their own bottle because they would prefer to sell you one of the bottles on the wine list. Plus they recover some of the revenue they lose by your bringing your own bottle. Therefore a corkage fee is never charged when you purchase a bottle from your host.

Am I correct in assuming that you tip absoloutly NO ONE, until the very end of the cruise? (Including Palo). You tip your Palo servers at the end of the meal. You tip your main dining room servers and your room attendant at the end of the cruise.

What is the best type of luggage to bring? AE Rolling or LARGE duffel bags.Soft-sided luggage typically is better because you can more easily store them underneath your bed.

Dave,

Do you tip in cash at Palo's or use your KTTW card?

Thanks

You'll receive a charge slip at the end of the meal with your $5 "cover" fees plus any added-cost beverages added up. You can add any additional gratuity like you would with a credit card slip in a restaurant. This will be charged to your stateroom.

I have a very large rolling duffel bag that we use for all trips where space will be at a premium. It is Olympia brand. ALL of my luggage has been purchased at Marshalls and TJ Maxx. They get name brands, a good selection, and the prices are great.
