What is the discount I keep reading about?

We are still considering the DVC (and trying to come up with the $$$), and we have noticed several posts that comment on a discount for cash hotel rooms. Can someone fill us in?

Do you mean when you are staying at your DVC home resort? Sometimes you can get a discount when you are paying cash for some nights. We bought in 1997 and went down for Christmas on points at the BW and paid cash for the weekend nights at a discount...Maybe someone else can answer you too...Marianne...

It's 25% off when available. I've never tried to get one, but I've heard they are hard to get, they come from the regular room inventory not point rooms.
