Thanks Mal. I just finished over there and sent Kris an email about a question I had. Hopefully it will get answered. Saw that you were there posting the same time I was. Now my head is spinning and I'd better get my rear in bed. Have a long day planned tomorrow, taking the kids to my parents camper for the day. Need to have some smore's and a hot dog on the open fire!

Thanks for the heads-up. I went to the Disney Awards forums and posted to several topics. I only hope that I am doing it correctly now (I have the stinking suspicion I've still not got everything right. For one, I'm confused over how many searches (for awards) I should do per day).

I've read DA Basics and other sections and I'm still lost - and apparently I'm not alone!

I would love a quick primer on this one. It has been FOREVER since I have done any of the programs, but since we have finally set a date to go back to the world, I thought I would get busy on some of them:)

I am also very confused about DA. I agree with dmslush that a quick primer in regular words would help many of us out.

I use AOL and can't click through to the posting forums from my account. At work we have MSN and I can get through there (not suppose to be doing that at work but I wanted to see if it would work). Anyone else having trouble that use AOL. I can't post from home so sometimes I miss them. What is the link for the forums if you don't go through DA?

Maleficent2
07-20-2002, 02:54 PM
I posted this thread because I think alot of people are confused about what they need to do on the forums. And just have not done anything because of this.

Every Member needs to register at the Disney Awards forums.Link is above.

Then everytime you do DA you need to read DIZBIZ and also answer any thread started by DisneyAwardsmom or Kris on HenWens only.

If you want to earn extra points you can visit the other forums and post to them also.
you get there by going to the daileys page and then click on posting Click on the forum links from there to get credit for posting to each forum.

I hope this clears up some confusion.

Did you register your account as a global account or local account?

It's global, I've had the account for about 2 and a half years.

Maleficent2

I would just so she knows and you might want to ask her if she would like you to register with only a DA acct name.

No, you do not need to make a new one.

I am not sure that this is the correct answer Dana I would ck with Kris on that.As far as EZ boards goes Global is a all boards acct. but Kris may want you to have one independent and only good for DA.
I am just not sure.

07-22-2002, 02:24 PM
I am registered for EZ board, I have posted to it ( but not every thread because I can't figure out which ones to post to.) I have sent her several e-mails that she has not responded to, I have enough points to cash out but the program won't let me. I don't know if I have done what she wants or not.

I've just about had it. I don't know if a few Disney dollars is worth all this.

clkelley
07-22-2002, 03:31 PM
Because she is such a small program and wants to make payouts as high as possible, she is limiting cashouts to once every quarter. So for all points earned in July, August, and September cashout will be possible on 1 October.

Be be forwarned, she does not pay until she gets payed, so it will be early November before she can begin sending 2nd quarter payments. As the site grows and her cashflow becomes more on the monthly side, she "may" be able to begin monthly cashouts, but it is not possible at this time.

Vderon
07-22-2002, 04:09 PM
No... I know it's quarterly.... I had enough points at the end of June to cash out, but I can't get the cashout page to come up. And it says I have X number of points, but none available to cash out with. I have sent her several e-mails with no response.

clkelley
07-22-2002, 04:17 PM
That's odd, because she sent me and several others an e-mail with our point totals and cashout options. She did not have automatic cash out at the end of June. Have you tried the e-mail webwizemom@cs.com?

Kris has always responded to every e-mail I have sent.

dmslush
07-22-2002, 05:46 PM
Okay, I have another question. How many searches can we get credit for? Also, there are so many rules about if a page doesn't load, do another search, etc.. is it okay to do a few extra searches and click the top banners to make up for any of these ****oos that we lose track of?

clkelley
07-22-2002, 05:52 PM
At the current time, there are 8 point search opportunities.

3 for the first one (DA logo)
3 for the second one (DA logo)
1 for the third one
1 for the fourth one

When you are doing the daily visits, you should watch each one as it opens and if a valid site does not come up, or it states it's not accepting traffic, then you should close it out before your point credits. If you accidently allow one to credit that is not accepting traffice, you should do a search at the bottom of the daily search page to replace that income.

I have noticed a post in Diz Biz that states if Kris notices you are allowing sites that are not accepting traffic on a regular basis your account will be terminated.

OrlandoDisney

dtuleya
07-22-2002, 07:46 PM
Ok, I have a question and I don't want to post at DA because I search and read and am still confused.

I made a purchase through DA with Petsmart.com. Kris is aware of this purchase and added the points into the Beginning Balance section, not in the Purchases section. My question is about the Shakes. From what I understand, I earn 5 points for every dollar spent and a shake. Am I correct on this? I know that Tracy is going through a difficult time and Kris and Bob are trying to work on this area, but has anyone received confirmation about a shake they have earned?

dmslush
07-22-2002, 08:12 PM
Okay, another question. Mom signed up for it tonight and when she entered her email address (yahoo) it said that you couldn't use yahoo or mycoupons email addresses. Why?

Maleficent2
07-22-2002, 08:15 PM
I am doing more than 8 and only getting credit for 6.

Kris says 8 but still all I get is 6.

hotmail is the only free email allowed as far as I know.

because people who use MSN can only have one pd email acct and use hotmail.

Have her use a hotmail acct.

clkelley asked me if I had used the right e-mail to check my account status. I went back and looked and I used the right e-mail 3 times since July 5, with no answer at all.

I feel like I followed the rules as best as I understood them, but I seem to be a non person there.

I know this subject has been beaten to death. But I spent a lot of time clicking at the site, and I can't even get the courtesy of an answer as to what I might have done wrong, and why I can't cash out.

I think I'll stay with Milesource, Memolink and MyPoints. Or maybe I should just get a part time job to supplement the two I already have.! It would be easier than this.

Flame away.

Maleficent2
07-25-2002, 11:03 AM
we try not to flame anyone here on the DIS you must have confused with another board...LOL

anyway

I am going to try and answer some of your concerns.

1. as stated cash out is quarterly

Jan-March April
April-June July
July-Sept Oct
Oct-Dec Jan

2. To cash out you must have also registered at the EZ Disney Awards forums and posted to HenWens.if not you will not be allowed to cash out (see henwens for explanation)

http://pub72.************/fdisneyawardsfrm4.showMessage?topicID=200.topic

3."Posting in Henwen's in response to threads started in Diz Biz by "Dizawardsmom" is an absolute requirement. Every member who reads the Diz Biz will know exactly which posts require a response because it will be clearly stated in the acknowledgement thread found in Henwen's. "

I hope these have answers all your questions. If not LMK

Mal,
I think she has been posting (if I am understanding correctly), but the problem is that her points aren't "available for cashout"

Also, Vderon don't worry about getting flamed here. I honestly can't remember anyone ever getting flamed on this rewards board. Everyone here always tries to help the best that they can.

Maleficent2
07-25-2002, 05:17 PM
Hi Dana

I did a search and she has a total of 6 posts only one of which was to a thread on HenWens.

Therefore this does not make her points available for cashout.

I am afraid Vderon you will be losing some of those points.

This is being done instead of cancelling of accts.because Kris wanted to give everyone a chance to understand the program.

I am not slamming Vderon just stating the facts.

Anyone that does not understand what to do on DA.Please post here and DA.Someone will try and answer your concerns.Posting really does get help faster than email. But you can email or PM me if you like. Also read the Post Reward Program how to it might help you also.

Read and post to the forums(only mandatory one is of course HenWens)

This is a really easy program once you get used to it and can be a great money earner for WDW.

I hope you give it another chance.

Okay, now I see what is being said. LOL, sometimes I'm kind of thick on these things.

One thing I did want to ask that I am not too clear on; It was my understanding that if a page doesn't load, it is an invalid click so we are supposed to do a smart pages search to make up for the point that we have gotten. Now, she is saying that all invalid clicks will be deleted.

So, I'm on cable, I get my point pretty fast, and just sit and wait for the page to load. When it doesn't load, I make a note of it, and do a seach to "pay DA for the point" that I got earlier. I also try to remember to click on the top banners while doing the program.

So, are those points going to be taken away? Even though I have done extra searches and clicked banners to add to the pot so to speak?

Maleficent2
07-25-2002, 06:09 PM
no they will not

if you have done the extra searches(I unforntuately did not do one for all of mine trying to make them up but I do not know if that will help)

Kris has replaced almost all of the invalid sites. But if a page fails to load be sure and do an extra search.

I think there is only one invalid link as of today on the second page of the daileys.

Mal,
Thanks so much. You explain everything in "plain" language that makes it easier to understand.

I sometimes wonder if it is more my computer than it is the site when it doesn't load, because if I hit refresh a few times, some of them will load. I didn't have any problem today though.

Also, do you know how long it takes to get shopping credit?

Maleficent2

07-28-2002, 09:05 AM
Thanks Mal. What I can't understand is why I have to get my answers from you instead of the site people themselves. I still have recieved no response from them. ( E-mail #4 was sent after you replied to me)

So do I have to go back and post to every old thread there? How do I know which ones? Should I even bother if I'm going to lose points anyway? I have spent a lot of time doing that program, and I didn't even understand about how to post on the forums until a couple weeks ago. I know I'm not only one. This is the most confusing program, and I have done them all, going back to Pointclick and dozens of others that are now gone!

I'm just trying to decide if it's worth it to continue. I have no idea how many points she is going to take away from me, and my Disney trip is in December. If I am not going to be able to get anything for that trip, and I am going to lose half my points or something like that, forget it. What makes me angry is I know I did the site visits correctly, and the search visits correctly, SHE got paid, but it looks like I am not going to.

Sigh.

Anyway Mal you have been very nice and you take a lot of time helping people here. I just feel like a small child getting my hand slapped with this program. I wouldn't even bother, but I have enough points for $20 Disney Dollars, and it makes me mad that I got up at 5 am every day to do this program and won't see that $20 bucks.

Maleficent2
07-28-2002, 11:49 AM
I really hate that you are going to lose points for not posting.

I lost points also but not because of not posting you all know how I love to post lol

Mine were for sites that had expired etc. Somehow I had overlooked the part about doing a search for expired sites and to be honest most times I do not even read the page except to see if points have posted. I had taken a few months hiatus from DA.Just too busy to do all the rewards programs I did around the holidays with our shop and business. So I slacked off of programs big time.

you do not have to post to every old thread just the most recent ones since automation.Ck DizBiz then post to the ones that are listed there and are on HenWens.

Good thing is everyone has a clean fresh slate and hopefully knows what to do now.

I hope I did not in anyway make you feel like I was slapping your hand not my intention at all.

I do not have an answer for you about why your email was not answered unless Kris feels that it has been answered on the boards.I can not speak for her.

But I will try and help in anyway possible if I can.sorry about all you hard work. But Rules are rules and although neither of us broke them inttntionally the outcome is still the same.We lost points.

I've been out of town for a few days and just went to do my DA program and noticed that my account balance was almost 1000 points less then before. I can't find where I lost points...It looks like everything from before June 31st is gone. I looked at the points for daily visit, etc. and there were no points before this date. Ok, I just checked and I lost around 60 points. Lets get this straight...I went to DIZBIZ and I see no new posts there (I see that DIZBIZ is a forum for MOD's only), so how do I know where to reply to on Henwens. Do I just reply to anything in Henwen's
that has Dizawardsmom as the thread starter? It would make life so much easier if the title just stated "required reply" somewhere in the title.

Ok I just took this from a thread in DA :

"Which post are important to repond to? Well by coming here and reading the updates you will know. I will start an acknowledgement thread over in henwen's and If it says both here & in henwen's you must acknowledge this thread.....................then those are the ones. "

Is the acknowledgement thread just one big thread or a new one with a corresponding title to an update in DIZBIZ?

Sorry for being so confused and bothering everyone.

dmslush

Ok. I just checked and I had over 1600 points, now I have 243. I guess I'm done with this one.

Thanks everyone for all your help. And Mal, you never made me feel like a child getting my hand slapped, but the tone of the posts on the Disney Awards forums, and the lack of reply to my e-mails sure did. Just an update- I had enough points to cashout, I never got an e-mail from them with my cash out info, the "cash out" tab is inoperable for me, and my account still shows 256 points even tho I had over 1600. 5 e-mails have gone unanswered.

Since many of you were kind enough to try to help me ( especially Mal), I thought I would let you know that I appreciate it.

I work two jobs and have active kids, so I guess I don't have time for a program with so many rules. I just don't get the posting thing, and I am not willing to spend any more time on it.

Thanks again everyone for your help. I think I will try to save the money by using Priceline for my hotels. I have saved over $1300 in the last year using Priceline, and visiting Biddingfortravel and knowing the right way to use Priceline is a better use of my time than doing this program.

Good luck to all of you! I hope you get lots of rewards from them.

Just my 2 cents, the Disney Awards site, in my meager opinion has way too many rules and regulations, and once the threats started, I decided it just wasn't worth my effort. Sounds like someone on a power trip to me. Sorry if I offended.
