We were disappointed when BLT was announced 2 weeks after we added on at AKV. I have been regreting it ever since. So last month I listed and sold my 160 pt contract at AKV. We are keeping our 100 pt contract at AKV for now. I got my wish and today (15 minutes ago) purchased 160 points at BLT. Not much of an incentive. 120$ minus 5$= $115/pt. I will receive 2009 points (AUGUST UY). My guide told me to watch the webcast and if the pot is sweetened I will get the better deal. She is estimating BLT will sell out in the spring. Cross your fingers that they are offering something better in the webcast, $115 per point is brutal. We could have done better (cheaper) at other resorts, but like the golden rule of DVC says, " BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY". When I was a kid my family would drive from NY to WDW. When the monorail would ride through the contemporary resort it was beyond my imagination that we would ever stay in that hotel. I figured all the guests must be millionaires. We stayed at Daytona, an hours drive away. Now I am a deeded owner to part on that hotel. Its a good feeling. Hey, I already forgot about the $115 pricetag !!!!!!!!

That sounds just like me! :cool1:

I visited WDW once in 1976ish....I was real little :rolleyes1

Anyway, I always thought the monorail was the best thing ever, but we did not ride it that trip due to crowds. The family returned to WDW in my high school years a couple times, and I got to ride it once then.

Since the 70's :rolleyes1 I have always wanted to stay in the Contemporary, and now I can for the next 50 years! Thus, I understand the feeling...great feeling to know your children will not live the deprived childhood we had :eek: :lmao:

Congrats on the BLT!

What is the webcast? I possibly will be purchasing BLT and haven't heard about a webcast...where is it and how do I get to it to find out if they give a better deal?

It is a computer (online) sales presentation next week that will hopefully offer special incentives to viewers to purchase DVC properties. Only viewers can receive these deals. Here is the link:

We could have done better (cheaper) at other resorts, but like the golden rule of DVC says, " BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY".

I would add "BUY WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY... IF YOU PLAY ON MAKING YOU RESERVATIONS MORE THAN 7 MONTHS IN ADVANCE."

In case any rookies out there making sure they are aware of "Home Resort Priority." If you make a reservation more than 7 months in advance you can only stay at one place and that is your home resort. When making reservations less than 7 months in advance it doesn't matter where you own.

Congrats on your new BLT points!!
I've been a fellow poster on some of your threads earlier this year and could tell, just from your written words, that you really wanted to own @ BLT. I'm glad you do now!!
I was in a somewhat similar situation to you. I had written 2 SSR contracts and backed out at the last minute. Then a small resale contract @ BCV that was ROFR'd. While I was excited about all 3 prospects, none of them gave me the feeling I do now as an owner at BLT!
I think most of my happiness that comes as a DVC owner is directly related to the 2 resorts I own at. I can honestly say that I could never have this continued excitement and enthusiasm to be a DVC owner that I do now. And if I had closed on my other contracts, I would have felt the same as you.
In any event, CONGRATULATIONS NEIGHBOR!!!:banana::banana:
