I know I didn't apply until late (11/10) but this is silly. They need to have a deadline where everyone hears back. Don't they understand how many life-changing decisons get made? I'm supposed to do that in 2 weeks time? This is crazy. I have never wanted anything this bad and the wait may just kill me.

I had the same problem last year when I applied. I applied even later than you, I think around Dec. 3 or so if I remember correctly. The wait was horrible because I didn't know if I had to cancel my housing for the next semester and what to tell my adviser about what I'd be doing in the spring class wise. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll hear back soon, I heard back like on the exact 2 week mark. Good luck :thumbsup2

Hey look on the bright side. If you do find out later, there'll be less of a wait between you getting notification and going. The wait for that is even worse than finding out if you got in. I got accepted for my original college program in February of '06 and I didn't even go until the end of August. Imagine how bad THAT wait was.

I applied ASAP when the applications came out. I had to wait 5 weeks. Your wait so far isnt bad.

I think Matt's (and my) issue is more that we have no time in between our (hopeful) acceptance and then leaving.... although I agree that waiting 5 weeks is bad (I had to do that last semester), not knowing a month out from having to leave is worse, because we've already picked our classes, paid for next semester, etc.

I guess this is why we shouldn't procrastinate. :rotfl:

All we can hope is that we hear back before the 18th... and that we don't have to go down until later in January or February.

I know you probably don't want to hear this but if either of you want to sublease an apartment, the worst is yet to come. I only have until the 7th to accept my invitation and I have yet to find someone. I'm freaking OUT. Ugh.

I applied Sept. 23rd, and ended up waiting 7 1/2 weeks (with a call to the recruiting center at 6 weeks) before I was accepted. I have a million things to do before heading down as well, and that was my concern also- not having enough time between being accepted and leaving.
Luckily, I extended my program to Spring Advantage right after being accepted, and this changed my arrival date to Feb. 1st.

Ah I see. Have you guys tried calling and explaining this to them? That does sound like a problem  I hope you guys can find out in time! :goodvibes
