Hi All,

We've decided not to do the dining plan this time round and thought we'd like to try new places - not the normal chains like TGI; Olive Garden and Chillis. Has anyone any recommendations - we're not very good at trying new places so any pointers would be much appreciated.

Bahama Breeze and Outback are both good. Melting Pot is a fun evening out with unusual fondues.

Our favourite by a mile is Texas de Brazil, not the cheapest place, but excellent food. Also if you sign up for their newsletters you can get discount vouchers!

The Melting Pot is so lush, we ate there in Boston and didn't know they had one in Orlando, everyone should go!! It's not cheap ($100 for me and the bf inc. tip) but lovely for a treat :)
Love the Cheesecake Factory too, it's definitely one of the nicer reasonably priced chains in the US :) Eaten at 3 of their locations so far and always had a great meal :goodvibes

Just wondering where is the Cheesecake Factory? Is Cracker Barrel similar to the Ponderosa for breakfast? We fly in 3 days so am trying to find as many alternative breakfast and evening restaurants as we can.:cool1::dance3::dance3:

Agree with many on here about Cheesecake Factory, Celebration Town Tavern and Bahama Breeze.

Also like D'Antonios (again at Celebration) and Giardono's pizza :)

We also enjoy Chevvys (www.chevvys.com) at Crossroads, LBV. Huge portions, and free tortilla chips to start with (tip - don't order a starter!!)

Also agree with Bahama Breeze, Olive Garden and Tony Romas (think Monday nights they have all you can eat ribs).

Cheesecake Factory - great food selection, but remember to take a long sleeved top. Each time that we have been, the air-con is freezing

Manny's is also a good place, but depending on what day / time you plan on eating, it may be worth calling forward to have your name added to the seating list (you cannot make reservations :sad2:) Last visit was 1 hour wait.
Check the web site for any special offers. on the day that you plan to visit

Texas Roadhouse was another favourite at Hunters Creek, but sadly, it is now closed :sad1:

Never been disappointed with the Cheesecake Factory :thumbsup2

New to me this time, but where 4 of us had excellent (and different) meals was Carrabba's (http://www.carrabbas.com/index.aspx) Italian Grill on Vineland Avenue. It's not open for lunch - opens at 4 pm - and most of their stuff is made from scratch. It was one of the recommendations I picked up over on the US DVC boards and my best 'find' in a while.

I went to Sweet Tomatoes at LBV (went to the International Drive one some years ago) and whilst I couldn't fault the offerings or the price, it did feel a bit like sitting in a factory unit - ambience = nil; food = 9/10. Doubt I'll bother again though.

We have eaten at the new one at LBV a couple of times, just like eating in a factory canteen, doubt we will go back, prefer the Idrive location. Last time we ate there it cost $27 for 3 of us with coupon.
