I'm picturing a week of pizza, hot dogs, french fries and chicken nuggets, joined only by snacks of ice cream, popsicles, and candy!

Please tell me we can do it and eat relatively healthy?

It's possible... Disney has gotten better with their Counter Service choices. One of the best dining spots is Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. Take a visit over to http://allears.net and check out the menus. This should prepare you pretty well. Also, several places will allow you to use the dessert part for fruit, carrots, etc.

We are doing the QSDP for the first time this summer. We are planning on salads, sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, wraps, pasta, ribs. Probably no pizza, unless it is flatbread at the resort (Mara) or at WPE. Maybe a hamburger one meal. Probably hotdogs at Casey's one meal - and some of their yummy chili (even if we pay oop for the chili). Probably chicken strips/nuggets for a meal or two.

Plenty of places in Epcot between Sunshine Seasons and WS. At MK Cosmic Rays has the best variety. DHS has several options (despite it's bad reputation) sandwiches at Starring Rolls, Grilled 1/2 chicken with rice at Studio Catering, several options down near Tower of Terror. Animal Kingdom has ribs at Flame Tree BBQ, Picnic in the Park (sandwiches or rotisserie chicken), Yak and Yeti QS has Asian. We find the resort QS have good options.

I'm not worried. We are doing one TS for our 11 nights - Trail's End, probably, and go to the campfire/movie after dinner. We also will be at the beach with family one full day and at Sea World one full day, so our QSDP will go very far. We will have a full breakfast on some days. I'm excited...and I hope I helped!

I'd say it's possible if you eat/like grilled chicken, because there are a lot of grilled chicken wraps, grilled chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken salads, etc. I mean, there are other things as well, but if you're not into chicken, it's harder.

Even if you're not too into chicken, almost all CS places will make it for you as a "vegetarian" salad without it. Also, remember to ask them to leave off the dressing if you don't want it. It comes on the salad, not on the side so you need to specify when you order. Same goes for wraps - most have dressing on and quite a bit of it too. If you want to avoid it, say so when you order.

You will have no problem with healthy eating. Like any other aspect of a WDW trip, it just takes a little gathering of info and planning.

If you look at my August Dining Report (links are in my sig) and my current October Dining Report, you can see that it's totally possible.

Not to say that all our choices were "healthy" but it certainly wasn't pizza/hot dogs/burgers every day! Out of the two (short) trips, I think you'll see 1 pizza at WGPE, 2 instances of corn dog nuggets, but they're special ;) and 1 burger from my brother. Oh, and I think maybe 1 side of fries...again, my brother ate, not me  (He's in college, what do you want!?!) So while I won't say that we ate "healthy" because I certainly wasn't eating a salad or wrap every day, we certainly steered away from some of the more theme-parky foods.

If you have an IPhone or ITouch, there's a WDW Dining app that has all the menus with prices. It's great when you're in the park and trying to decide where to eat that will make everyone happy!

Loved that dining app. I just used it on our trip and thought it was great.

It is entirely possible to do QSDP for a week without ever eating a hot dog, french fry, chicken nugget, hamburger or pizza - if you plan where to eat. If you just drop in wherever you get hungry, you might not choose a CS that has alternatives. Most places have a salad of some sort, or a wrap sandwich featuring poultry (not fried) and vegetables. if you're worried about dressing, ask for the salads or wraps without dressing, or with dressing on the side.

I just got back and never once had a burger, pizza, or nuggets. I ate at Cosmic Rays, Contempo Cafe, Flame Tree, ABC Commissary, and Kringla Bakery. Always was able to get a salad or a grilled fish sandwich, or grilled chicken, etc. Always could choose fruit or a salad instead of fries of chips. Always could get water instead of soda.

Your QS meals will also come with desserts. After 4 days of this and taking a bite or 2 of desserts we didn't want, I told them on day 5 to just skip the dessert. The CM asked if we wanted bottles of water instead. :thumbsup2 Not sure if they will do this everywhere, but I don't see why it would be such a big deal. BTW we were at BackLot at DHS getting one of my favorite meals--grilled veggie sandwich when they subbed the water for dessert.

I would say it is easier at WDW than most places to stay relatively healthy while eating at a QS restaurant. In fact, after 4-5 days of grapes and carrots sticks with their meal, my kids are wondering where the french fries are!:rotfl2:

Also, you can get fruit and soemtimes yogurt as your "dessert." I always save this for the morning. I just can't eat a dessert with lunch and dinner for a week straight. I usually get dessert ocne or twice all week.

As for options, there are more than you think. It is not all chicken strips and cheeseburgers, tho those are certinaly out there. There are wraps, grilled chicken, Asian food, BBQ... lots of options, which is nice.

i think it is easier for Adults, but not kids. The child choice are very limited compared to what adults get. Yes you can get grapes or apple sauce(both which my kids would get bored of after day 2) but there are not much else to substitute
