I will be going with my DH Ed and my DD Abi (9) we will be celebrating our 17th anniversary married and 20 years together!

I have participated in prior meets and had a great time meeting the Dis folks and my daughter has made some great friends.

We just go upgraded but then found out the room they upgraded us to is only for 3 people. I am waiting to hear back from TA to see if we just have to go back to our old room. It will be ok but I will be disappointed.

Yes we did get our room situation worked out. Our travel agent was a pain to work with, Disney on the other hand was beyond wonderful to us. We plan on booking another cruise while onboard.

My niece doesn't have email that I am aware of, but I will check and make sure.

I can't believe we are almost ready to start packing...what am I talking about...I started putting things in a suitcase a few weeks ago!!!!!

So we got our packet in the mail a few weeks ago and noticed that our stateroom number had changed, we were given an upgrade...or so we thought...the stateroom we picked was on deck 6 in the middle of the ship, which is usually where we always stay...but our 'upgrade' was on deck 7 at the very back of the ship...NO NO NO..we called Disney and they are suppose to change it back...but our luggage tags have the 'upgrade' room on them..we were told to cross it off and write our original stateroom number on it instead..so we shall see how that goes in two weeks...

We are not even ready to pack yet...don't even have our summer clothes out of the boxes yet...it has been so cold here I can not even think about going in the attic to get the boxes.. Maybe this weekend, the temps are to get up into the 40's!

On the down side, I also learned that we won't be able to see the Olympics. Ladies' figure skating finals are Thursday evening, and I'm going to miss watching that. (Trivial, I know, and I'm sure I won't be worried about it once we get on the ship.) I'm assuming that because Disney is affiliated with ABC, they don't carry the NBC channels. Any other speculation about the reasons why this is so?

Hello! I just found these boards a few weeks ago and just found this link yesterday! My family and I are sailing away also with all of you! This will be our first DCL cruise and first time with all the kids! We have 4 kids DD-14 DD-6 DS-5 and DD-3. They are all very excited as are we!

We got a upgrade to deck 5 but I called because they were not adjoining rooms and asked for ones and they said they had none and ask if I wanted moved back down and I said no we would just sleep separate but they evidently did not hear me :sad2: so we are back down to deck 9 with adjoining rooms. I was upset at first, but now I am just happy to have a room LOL

I looked at weather.com today and it is suppose to be 78 and clear in Nassau on Thursday so hopefully Friday it will be that or warmer! I just pray for some nice clear weather!

Finally started to get ourselves organized tonight...its been a very hectic weekend. Our DD got engaged on Valentine's Day and we are very excited. Now to convince her of a Disney wedding...but thats for another thread...

Back to the cruise next week...It can not come fast enough for me...:eek:
DH will be driving down to FL on Wednesday and I will fly down that night..I could not get another day off from work. :mad: We are staying at Bay Lake Towers Wed. night using our DVC points... We plan on being on the road Thursday by 9am with an arrival time at the port around 10am...we like to get there early to take pictures and get through security and then just hang out in the port.

DOES ANYONE WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FISH ENCHANGE??? IF SO PLEASE LIST YOUR STATEROOM NUMBER IN YOUR REPLY SO WE ALL KNOW WHERE TO LEAVE YOUR 'GIFTS'


We may not be able to meet at 3pm but we may be able to say hello to all of you before we walk through those magical ears...Last year we stood over to the side near the kids club/snack bar. We are easy to find...just look for us wearing Disney shirts...:rotfl2:...My DH looks the same if you can see him in our pics...

The first live report is set for 8:50 am EST (5:50 am Pacific) during News10 Good Morning.
The other live reports will be between Noon and 1 pm (9 to 10 am Pacific) during Sacramento and Company.

I will pass on the information about the meet. They are not bringing their families. As a matter of fact, they are the only one's going. Disney is providing all the crew for the live shot, so no other staff from the station are going. Trust me, I volunteered.
My first cruise was back in 1980 when the Love Boat was hot, and I was working as a TV cameraman. I worked on a magazine show (similar to PM Magazine or Evening Magazine if you remember those shows). I was hooked on cruised from that point on. Although, THAT was the only cruise where I not only went for free, but was being paid to be there!!

We have lots of 'surprises' for the kids so if you want to participate please let us know which stateroom your in...and if you do not have a fish extender grab a plain gift bag at the dollar store and have the kids apply stickers on them or draw pictures...They love to do stuff like that and its a cheap way to entertain them...

Oh man. I just found this forum and this thread tonight! I'm SO behind. Looks like I missed the boat (oh look, a pun!) on the Fish Extenders. I still don't know what the heck these things are! Does each kid need a slot? And magnets. Is there a purpose for those? Or just decoration?
My 6 y/o is celebrating his birthday on board so I need to do what I can to make it special since he didn't get a super-cool, invite the whole class party!

Glad to have you join us! Don't worry if you do not have a hand made fish extender...you can make one for under a dollar...just use a plain gift bag and have your son put stickers on it,...then hang it from the 'fish' outside your stateroom door...let me know what stateroom you are in and your son will find Birthday treats for him the very first night! We usually do our 'surprise walk through the halls' during the first dinner hour that way when the kids get back their staterooms the gifts have arrived...it is so much fun. :banana:

If anyone is up for the fish extenders - please post a message. I know WDBRDWLK wants to get that going and it sounds like she has some pretty cool stuff for the kids. I usually do it and enjoy it, did not step up this time but will do if others want.

Also WDBRDWLK will not be able to meet at 3pm (probably hoping to win the big $ at the members party likely starting at 2) but they will be hanging out in port near the kids registration/snack bar all the way to the back on the right. They have posted photos to make it easier to recognize them. We will hang out at the same place if anyone is looking to pass the time.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and my daughter, Abigail, is so excited there is a 9 year old in the meet also.

The forcast for Wednesday afternoon/evening is up to an inch of snow....Now that may not sound like much but here in NC that will shut us down. And my flight leaves at 4:30pm... What to do, what to do...should I miss another day of work and drive down with DH or chance it that the flight will depart on time....Let the stress begin!!!!!!!!!!

Hi - sorry to hear about your potential flight issues. Before I give you my two cents worth (with inflation only worth .075 anyways) I should tell you that I am NOT a phychic, I do NOT tell furtunes and I DO NOT play anyone on TV. That being said, I am worried you may miss the boat!!!! When you first said your plans I had a proxy angst feeling. Is your flight refundable? If so, I would consider putting a car rental on hold, going to work and if it is snowing - grab the car rental and head down (depending on where in NC you live) otherwise I say take off the day! Now this is really easy for me to say as I live 45 minutes from port - do not have snow issues and have more vacations days than I usually use. So that is my less than two cents worth.

Either way - good luck and I really really hope to see you at the meet!

Thanks Amanda- After calling Southwest and confirming where my flights orginate from, I have decided to wing it...I am at work now keeping a close eye on the rain here and will be up, up and away before the snow starts to fall...or at least that is what the weather folks are saying, and they better be right this time!

DH is on the way...he has been on the road for 3 hrs now, so far so good... :yay:

I have decided what I am wearing tomorrow...look for me in a navy blue long sleeve shirt with Disney Cruise line on the front...
