Hi guys,

I wasn't sure where to post this, but my DH bout locks for the pins so they would not fall off. We got home and we cannot figure out how to use them. We feel stupid.:rotfl:

Can someone explain how to get these long things to fit the pins? Did he pick up the wrong thing? Maybe it is for something else?

Thanks!!

I must say I love the locking pinbacks when I've found a pin I want to keep for good. They are a little hard to figure out though. When you bought them they should've come with a little allan wrench. The kind that looks like this ¬. you have to unscrew the little screw in the pinback, stick it on the pin, and then screw it back. It took me a little while to figure out too, but it's better than losing a pin!

And if for some reason you lost that little allan wrench, I think my husband was able to use a bent paper clip to unlock them. :)

And might I say that the locking pin backs are invaluable!!! Can't tell you how many times those little rubber mickey backs have fallen off on us!!!

I picked up these locking pin backs from eBay. MUCH better then the one you have to screw on:

Don't feel dumb. I had to ask the CM at the pin store how to use it, then a lady behind me said "I looked at those and had no idea what they were for" and she grabbed 2 bags full.

I have these too! They work great and you don't need a tool to get them off. The Disney locking ones were also really uncomfortable because they stuck out so far. The ebay ones are much more comfy.

I lost my little allen wrench for the Disney ones and got one at Home Depot to get them off and put on the ebay ones.

I've lost pins using those eBay ones....I hate them!!! I much prefer the Disney ones. I've had pins locked onto my lanyard for 2.5 years and I haven't had any problems at all. :)

Love the locking backs too! BUT the ones we bought in DW 2007 are not the same as the ones they are currently selling. The allen key is bigger now! I forgot to bring the allen key on our trip in November so I bought more locks but they didn't work. Hubby made a trip to Ace Hardware and bought the right size for $.60 each.
