This is copied from my blog, which you can link to in my signature. It has the pics and all so far. But, I will add here as I can- gotta get everything uploaded to photobucket for that I think. We are going May 22-29th, so I started to record all the info in my blog!

OK, here we are:

Me, Brandi- I'm 34 and a Kindergarten teacher. It's my first year teaching after a long career in banking. I love it and love my students. It's very hard where I work, but I know that I am making a difference, which is what matters most, right?

DH, Paul- he's 35 and is a passionate LSU fan. He also loves Jimmy Buffet, as do I and our son, Alex. More on him later. Anyway, Paul is a purchaser at a food company. His hours stink and and he works way too many, plus it's an hour away and his benefits stink! But, he has learned a lot and really likes his job, so oh well.
DS, Alex- he is 7. Alex is funny and smart, I just adore him. He's reading this as I type, so I better say all of that up there:) He's in the 2nd grade and does pretty well in school. This is his first year in an advanced class, so his young age compared to the other students is starting to show. But, he is so smart, so I know he'll get it together! He has been to Disney 3 times. The last time was in October of 2007 and we actually went to Universal. However, we did go to MNSSHP one night, so we got to visit the Magic Kingdom once on that trip. So, by the time we go, it will have been almost 4 years since our last time to be there. He's super excited, but is scared of "big" rides, so i have to figure out how to get him to try some.
DS, Nathan- he is almost 17 months. He's funny and sweet. He just got tubes in and adenoids out a few weeks ago. It has made a big difference and he's much happier. This will be his first trip to Disney World! I know he'll especially love the parades because he watched the Thanksgiving one yesterday and loved it!
So, we are going at the end of May and I am super excited and ready! We'll be staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas- a 1 bedroom. If you are not familiar with DVC, our room will be like a condo, with a complete kitchen and laundry room, which is perfect for us!
I recently made our ADRs and realize that maybe we won't make them all, but that's OK. I am starting to wonder our Nathan will do and how we will tour accordingly. He does nap daily of course, but it varies in time. At home, it's usually from 10-12-ish. Sometimes as early as 9! And at times, as late as 1 or 2! At daycare, it's from 11-1 daily. I try to keep him on that at home, but he's usually falling asleep before then. So, we will see how he does when the trip comes around- that's still 6 months away, which is huge for a baby boy. We did go recently to the New Orleans zoo and I was impressed with how great he did. He stayed up for a while and didn't get too fussy. I'm hoping we'll be able to eat our sit-down lunches in the parks, another ride or two, then head back to the resort. Then, we can have dinner after nap and go back to the parks. We'll see..

Hey Mary! We are currently at Jambo. However, I am starting to want to change to Kindani, so I might do that soon! I'll let you know. I was trying to go the less points route, but we will be adding on next year, so I figure I might as well go ahead and use the few extra to stay at Kindani. I will type up more details after dinner. I didn't expect anyone to read, so i didn't get too detailed yet!! LOL- Guess I'll get busy:yay: And you are welcome to come visit!

Oh, and about your DD- ask me anything! I have a son who is in the 2nd grade and he had the best K teacher ever! I am in the most poverty-stricken school in Baton Rouge, so I am learning how to teach and reach these kids better than I ever imagined- you have to get creative sometimes! But, I'll be happy to answer questions or ask other teachers for answers as well!

So, I decided to post my daily plans today. For our trip, that is! Here's what I have so far:

Friday- leave work, get boys and DH- start driving! This is our actual last day of school, so I will leave right after that. Hope there is nothing that will stop me from going right away! We will spend the night somewhere on the way. We'll just drive as far as we can and find a spot. I'll probably try to plan that out as well, but I figure we'll get farther if I don't.

Saturday- Wake up as early as we can and head on to Disney! We are about 13 hours total away, so I am hoping to go 5 hours on Friday, so only 8 left on Saturday. If we leave by 7 AM, that puts us there at about 3 PM. I'd like to get there even earlier, but if not, I can handle it. We have ADRs for Chef Mickey's this night at 5:40 PM. Nate usually goes to bed at about 6:30, but after spending all day in the car, I think he'll be ready for a night of fun with Mickey! After dinner, we will go straight to bed! I figure we'll drive to the Contemporary and then back to AKV to save time.

Sunday- Animal Kingdom Day!! We have 8:05 AM ADRs at Donald's Breakfastasourus. We did this a few years back and loved it. We will spend the day here and have a late lunch at Rain Forest Cafe at 1- if we aren't yet hungry, we'll just get desserts! RFC is a must for us each trip and I have gift cards for there from Mypoints.

Monday- EPCOT! Lunch @ 11:15 @ Le Cellier- our favorite place. I decided on an early lunch b/c Nate eats early and I figure he'll be hungry early. Plus, I hope we can get through it faster and he won't get fussy. I expect to take him back to the resort at this point for his nap, but we'll see. If not after lunch, then by 1 for sure. The big boys can stay if they want. We will head back after a nap. We may hop over to see Spectro tonight as well.

Tuesday- Typhoon Lagoon! (Or maybe BB, but probably TL)- Have ADRs at TREX for 5 PM- we have to try this due to our love of RFC and Alex's love of dinos. They will also take our gift cards, so that is nice! I figure we'll do the water park from opening to about 1, then back for a nap. Then on to DTD and T-Rex- can't wait to build dinos, too!

Wednesday- MK- Finally!! I am an obsessive planner, remember? I follow many touring sites to find out when to go where, so that's why I'm waiting so long in the trip for an MK day. We might hop over earlier for Spectro, tho. I did not plan on having an ADR today. However, I ended up making one for CP @ 11:40- may end up canceling it though, depending on finances and how Nate does for sit down lunches at almost 2.

Thursday- HS- Made an ADR for 50s at 11, but really don't expect to keep that one. We will for sure go to WCC at 6 PM tonight, though. I've been wanting to go for years and will make sure we go this year!

Friday- MK again! I made 11:35 ADRs for LTT today, but again, not really planning on making it. I think we'd be better off have a quick CS lunch and riding more, but we'll see.

Saturday- going home:( Dh doesn't have Memorial Day off, so we have to get back. I planned to stay until Sunday, but again DH wants to take our time getting back so he's not so exhausted on Monday for work.

So, this was way long and I'm sorry, but I wanted to get the ADRs out there for everyone to compare! Let me know what you think!

Thanks! We've been to most and really need to venture out, but maybe next time! WCC would be new, as would LTT if we do that- well, I think we went there before, but I really don't remember much. And I bet we don't make it anyway. Same with 50s- we've never done that. But, CM is a tradition, love RFC, love LeCellier and I forgot! We have to fit in Margaritaville somewhere!

WOOT! WOOT! I'm here!

Are yall doing standard or savanah view at AKV? The points are the same either way you go - Jambo or Kidani. Jambo is more hustle and bustle, while Kidani is more laid back and homey. The walk to Mara is not that bad. You can do it in less than 10 minutes. Plus, the buses pick you up and drop you off first at Kidani.

Looking at the kids now. Sam should be in 1st grade age-wise. His school however does the Gesell screening, and he was very immature for his age. He was in developmental kindergarten last year, and he is absolutely blossomoing in kindergarten this year. Good for Alex to be doing so well as a young one for his class.

We have MK planned for the same day. We're doing a waterpark the same day too, but it will definitely be a BB day for us. We had so much fun last year. Cooper had a blast in Tike's Peak.

Everything looks great so far. So, is 5 hours from you Mobile or Pensacola? I'm thinking Mobile since that is about 3 1/2 from me, maybe 4. We are stopping in Lake City. We'll only have about another 2 hours to go the next morning.

I look forward to hearing more!

We are actually doing Value to save a few points, but I'm seriously considering switching to Standard at Kidani- think I may call tomorrow if I can remember! We really want to do BB instead of TL as we did TL before. BUt we did it when Alex was 3 and he had a ball. I was worried BB wouldn't have enough for the little guy to do- what do you think? Alex and I spent all summer at Blue Bayou this past summer, and he does most things.
Mobile is about 2 1/2 hours from us actually. We were thinking of staying in Lake City once before. I need to go map it out and decide. BUT- DH was talking yesterday about just leaving at midnight and going straight through! You'd think he had also been reading the PTRs- lol- He thinks it'd be easier with the boys sleeping the whole way. Nathan is not good in the car- he pretty much whines the whole time and wants me to hold his hand the whole time- which is so uncomfy when I ride in the front! We'll see

brandip22
11-29-2009, 01:39 PM
Hey folks! I finally looked up mapquest to map out our trip. Of course, DH took over and went to bing maps to map it himself. It shows it should take us about 11 hours- it actually shows 10 or 10 1/2, depending on the map, but also 700 miles. So, I figure with potty and gas breaks, 11 hours at least. MY idea is to drive to Tallahassse, spend the night there, then on to Orlando the next morning. Tallahasse is about 6- 6 1/2 hours away from here. I think we could swing that. Then, just another 4 hours the next morning. DH was thinking Lake City, but that is a little father and I don't see the point in stopping if it's only another 2 hours away. He'll probably do most of the driving, so I'll leave it to him, though! BTW, he told me to write that he thinks I'm addicted to the computer/disboards- LOL- maybe so, oh well! Both boys are playing, DH is watching football, I have turkey gumbo on the stove, clothes in the washer and dryer and now I'm here- I think I'm ok- what do you think?? LOL:confused3

OK, so on to another topic- just life in general. Last night, our good friends from down the street ('Bama fans) came over for steaks and LSU football. We had a great time. I had to clean big time since we'd just decorated for Christmas, so it was a long day! And thank goodness LSU won at the end- that was close! This morning, I slept until almost 7- so did Nathan and DH. Alex (older DS) was up, but left us along. Seven is way late for us, so that was cool. I can't believe baby Nate slept so long. Well, back to the 5 AM alarm in the morning and back to school. Only 3 weeks now until Christmas break though! Now, we have all the boxes back in the attic, clothes galore to wash and the gumbo cooking as I said earlier. A nap would make life complete for today ;) But, the boys aren't too good at letting me nap unless they are, too. DH just took Nate down to the neighbors to say hi, so I could probably get a few minutes in. But I know that I'd be just good and asleep when they'd walk in. Is it only me that happens to? I need to go online and see how much money I've spent on Christmas so far. I have a few more things to get the boys, but will need to wait until DS gets paid on Friday. Then, it's parent and family time- ah it never ends!

We drove straight through in May! we find the drive there easy the drive home was harder (but, straight through) it did take us longer than in the past (about 11 hours vs. the not quite 10 hrs mapquest puts us at and we lost an 1.5 hr back tracking for DH's wallet) we stopped alot to let Ashton run around and change his diaper (I did not want him sitting in a wet diaper for a long period of time (probably went through more diapers on the ride than on a regular day). We brought his DVD player along and some easy small toys and we were both wonderfully surprised at how great he did! :yay: {we stopped for breakfast in gulfport[that was when we discovered no wallet--dbl back up to Sam's in Slidell], stopped to run around in Alabama [that is where we met up with my DD, DDbf, & DS] let Ashton run around, stopped at the Pensacola reststop [we stayed there a bit to let Ashton play in their playroom area and I picked up reading material], we did not stop again until Tallahasse for lunch/early dinner, than drove until we made it to Orlando.
We did say that next time (if we drive) we were going to stop on the way home in Ft Walton Beach. As I said the ride home was horrible for us...

sounds like a fun night friends and LSU doesn't get much better than that!

Sounds like a job well done (or started) on your gift list!!!

Have a great day!!!:wave2:

BTW: welcome to the world of hooked dissers...my kids say that if I don't get on at least once a day I'll have witdrawals --LOL! I normally dis during quiet time (DS3 does not nap) and during movie time (not usually something I want to see)LOL!

As far as the ride back, we probably will stop somewhere, maybe gulf shores and eat at Lulu's. OK, I'll have to read everyone's updates later as DH is griping and Alex is wanting attention because he's grounded from his TV- slammed his door b/c he was mad at us for not letting him eat in his room- kids!

Forgot to say HEY Leanne! Welcome!!

Did I mention my pinkie?? I don't know what I did, but something is seriously wring with my right hand pinkie. It's been hurting for a couple of days now, just getting worse. I can bend the pinkie, but down at the joint connected to my hand, it kills me to move it or put any pressure on it at all. I am amazed at how much I use my pinkie! I have it taped to my ring finger right now. Might stop at Walgreens on the way to school in the morning and get a little splint. Typing is hard, I wonder what writing will be like for the kids tomorrow. We'll see. But, ouch it hurts! All the way to my elbow, it's tingling.

Hey gang! Well, I see that I will not be a big poster during the week with school and all! SORRY!! Let's see....pinkie is MUCH better. Went to the Dr Monday and she said it was a pinched Ulnar nerve- gave me steriods and it's done the trick. Of course now that they are going out of my system, it's starting to hurt again. I'l probably end up at a ortho dr or whatever to see what all I can do. I've looked up exercises online and have been doing those some. Hopefully, I can make it stay away without further Dr help.
AHHH and GEAUX SAINTS!! Hopefully, today will be 12-0!! WHO DAT???

No other plans made for disney actually yet! We did talk last night to some folks about buying into DVC. One of DH's work friends in interested, so I need to get him some info. I should be a salesperson for them, really! I could so do it out fo my house and do great!! What a wonderful job that would be:) Hint hint Disney!

It would be so great to sell DVC out of my house! Every time I help a friend with planning a trip, I make that comment. I have also thought that I could havea Disney planning seminar at the library. You could charge people to come. Just a thought.

I hope the pinkie starts to feel better soon.

Yeah, I've really thought that I should do the planning of trips for a living! When I hear someone is planning one, I want to help and get it all done for them! That's half the fun for me- I need to go work for tourguidemike for sure:woohoo:

Oh, and I see you didn't get snow. We got about an inch or two. At about 10, my DH came running inside to tell us. Alex would not get up- I picked him up and brought him outside, but he wanted to sleep instead. So, DH and I played in it. Turns out, Alex doesn't even remember my waking him for the snow- he was so mad that he didn't get up to play:sad2:

I'd say so!! That just about killed me. I had already resigned myself to losing just one- and that wouldn't be so bad as long as it was before playoffs!:confused3

Sorry it's been so long. I just can't keep up with school in! But, for the next two weeks at least, we have no school so I bet I get a lot caught up on and posted- LOL!
This week has been rough. Not only were my K's wild, my baby Nate had strep, then I felt like I was getting it all week. I took a ton of airborne and Vitamin C and didn't get it. Then I woke up Friday feeling horrible. I made it through the last day of school- whole day for us, ick- and felt even worse. Got up this morning to go to walk-in clinic. After a flu test, I was treated for strep and a sinus infection and bronchitus. Got a shot of celestone- yay! And a Z-pack- man, even with good insurance, that was expensive! oh well- if it makes me feel better, I don't care!
DH is off to New Orleans for the Saints game- GEAUX SAINTS! Watch him on TV- he'll be the loud one- lol- I swear I'll hear him b/c he really is that loud. So, I'm miserable at home with the boys. Nate didn't sleep well last night and he's had 3 naps today. I hope he sleeps tonight! Waiting on pizza b/c I refuse to cook when I'm sick. OK, so that was a boring tale of my week and day, but there is was!
Gotta go catch up on all the threads I've missed!

Hey ladies- yep= the Saints killed me, too! But, better then than for playoffs, so I'm OK.

Had a bit of a freak just a while ago with my planning! I saw where the SWW dates were released and of course DH and DS(Alex) just have to be invloved with that! So, I needed to switch the dates of my HS and AK visits. Since I of course have all of our ADRs done already, I had to go switch them as well! Well, I went in and could not pull up all of my ADRs I made when my window first opened! Can you say FREAK OUT?? LOL- I re-did pretty much all of them, but couldn't get a couple. Then, I went back to my email to look and found the old ones!! ARRGGGHHH- now I have several overlaps and am worried they will cancel them. So, I'll have to call to straighten all that out asap to avoid issues. I was surprised that I got most of what I wanted at the times I wanted as well. The only one I had real problems with was TREX of all places. I couldn't get in there again between 4:30-8!! Thank goodness my original one was found as it's at 5! A little earlier than I'd like for that day (after BB), but better than waiting until 8 with an almost 2 year old!
Anyway, I had to share. Dh kept telling me it was OK and not the end of the world- HA- what does he know?? Of course, he's the one who originally said not to make any ADRs as we'd not eat out much at all with Nate. Then tonight he was wondering why I didn't have more and why we weren't doing the DDP! I swear, he kills me. If I trusted him, I'd just let him handle it all so he could see. But then, we'd spend all day waiting in line to eat or eating CS for everything, so I can't do that. I need at least my CM on our first day!
OK, so here are our new plans so far:

Sat 5/22- Arrival- CM @ 5 or 5:40- overlap
Sun 5/23- HS/SWW- 5:35PM- 50s PTC (maybe, maybe not)
Mon 5/24- EP- Le Cellier 11:30 or 11:35- overlap
Tues 5/25- BB or TL- Trex @ 5PM
Wed 5/26- MK- CP @ 11:40- maybe- we really don't like any TS @ MK, so we'll see
Thurs 5/27- AK - 8- Donald's; 1 RFC; 5:25- WCC- I know- we won't eat all these places, but we want the bfast, DS wants RFC- so we may just do dessert and I want WCC!! LOL- it was the only night I could fit it in!
Fri- MK- 11:35- LTT- again maybe
Sat- goodbye Mickey :(

I really really wanted to stay til Sunday, but DH doesn't have Monday, Memorial Day off, so he wanted to be back and rest! That extra day would really have helped. Oh well

Woo Hoo! Less than 5 months- wow, that still seems so far to me- yikes!

Well, the boys were up by 5:30 this morning. I am scared of how early they'll be up on Christmas! DH has to work until noon- so he'll be back by about 1. I'll need a nap by then! DS- Nate (17 mos) will be here with me today since daycare is closed. He's already running around like crazy! LOL- I love him this age. But, I must say, he is exhausting. I have some more cleaning to do today and some packing for our trip to North Louisiana. Hope Nate lets me get to it. I'm only on here b/c I'm giving him mini wheats at the moment:) That kid loves those things. He has a mouth full and is still saying "more!" Sweet baby...Anyway, I'll try to work on plans more, too but that might not happen too well today.

Merry CHRISTmas everyone!

So, I made a little change to our ressies today! I changed us to a Standard view at Kidani!! I am so exicited. Originally, I wanted to save points so we were doing the value at Jambo. But, I've been wanting to switch for a while. Well, I saw some pics of Kidani's pool on here and well, that changed everything! I had to call today and change it! LOL That pool is so cool. I think we may not need to go to a water park. I showed Alex and he is so excited, too. Man, I want to go now! Of course, it would probably be a bit chilly out for the pool right now.
Oh, and I have officially started my diet back! I am doing Medifast. I really like it as it works way fast and I get too discouraged otherwise. But, it is hard to stick to as you have to stick to your meals. My problem is that I have no willpower, so MF is good in that I don't have to make choices, really. And it's not yucky, which helps! Anyway, I started Monday and have lost a couple of pounds already. I'll lose a good bit this first week and will then probably level off to about 2 or 3 pounds a week. I am so excited! Hopefully, I will be at goal by Disney. If I stick to it 100%, I should be at goal by April, but we'll see.
Anyway, just wanted to get in the quick updates! Now off to check out what you have been up to!

Hello! Brandi
changes sound good; the pool at all the mods and deluxes sound awesome...I remember in '96 when we stayed at POFQ we could not get 4 yr old Dayne out of the pool...last May when he went Iheard him telling DDBF about the great big dragon slide and how cool the pool was (he was 16 at the time--wonder if he had seen the pool if it would have been as big in person as it is in his memory :lmao: )...

I am still trying to price out a May trip and be sublt in talking Danny into it...:confused3 we'll see...I can keep hoping...if not I'll see it for Christmas (I keep telling myself this to keep me going :rolleyes1: )

Good luck on the diet...I need to start something...but, for now Danny & I just plan to cut back and cut out the starches...may have to get more drastic next week!

Have a wonderful New Year!

We are staying at the Poly. When we join DVC we can pool hop right? I would like to show the girls Kidani to get them excited for Dec, though I don't think we will be swimming much then.

What a great change Brandi. :cool1: A cool pool is very important to my kids. They want to spend as much time swimming as they do in the parks. They didn't get much swim time during last year's trip because of the record rainfall. I'm looking forward to sunny skies this year. :goodvibes

I started the couch to 5K running program this week. I've done week 1 day 1 and week 1 day 2 so far. My legs are so sore! I will start to get my food in check on Friday. I'm pretty serious about losing weight this year. Thanks for allowing me to tell you about it. Makes me a little more accountable. :goodvibes Good luck on the Medifast!

Hope you have a Happy New Year!

Girl, I tried C25K last year and almost died! I was literally couch to 5 k, too so that is probably why. I think once I get to the point of exercise on MF, I'll start with at least walking before attempting to run after never having run before! Good luck with it though and let me know how you are doing on it:worship:

Well, it's almost the New Year here! So, HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are suppose to be ringing it in with our friends and neighbors two doors down. Well, Alex (DS 7) made it all the way to 9 PM!! LOL This is the same chid who slept from 2 PM unti 3 AM the other night and who swears he is awake all night many nights- yet I always check on him and he's out. Poor thing. He wants me to wake him so he can go back down there for more fireworks at midnight, but I know him well and he won't get up even if I do wake him. I don't really mind being back in the house as it's much warmer in here and I still have a terrible cough that just won't go away. If I lie down soon, I might actually stop coughing by midnight!
Tomorrow, we'll have the gang over here to watch the LSU game and we'll have all the traditional new year food, too. I can't believe my vacation is about over, either- yuck! Of course, I am quite lucky to even get all this vacation!

I worked on our plans to get to the World over the past couple of days. It such a crazy thing, but we are having the hardest time deciding whether we want to drive straight or stop over night Friday. We have the pros and cons of each and just are struglling with the decision. We have driven all the way and know we can do it, but not sure if we want to. I hate not knowing, but I have to get over it and move on to start planning the rest of our trip! I'm now working on our first full day at the parks, Sunday, 5/23. We'll head to DHS that day for SWW. I'm working on the plan and all for that. I think we're going to rent a stroller from Orlando Stollers instead of doing the Disney ones this time too. That's about as far as I've gotten so far!
OK, it's 10:30 almost on NYE and I think I'm gonna turn in as my head is starting to bang!

Hello! Brandi
hope your new year is a great one so far!!! I hope your day back at school was an easy one...I have thought about the stroller rental too!; last year I was part of a stroller swap--the stroller was defective and caused problems for the OP and the swappers from about the fifth one on). We always say we are going to stop on the ride over and end up going straight through! Tangi students didn't start back in classes until tomorrow; teachers had records day.

Happy planning!
and wishes for a great 2010 for you and your family!

brandip22
01-18-2010, 12:57 PM
Hey folks! Just a brief update- well, maybe! No new plans so far. Diet didn't happen:( I just have no willpower- I gotta do something though. I think that, as it warms up, I'll start going for walks with the boys. That will help us get in shape for Disney regardless.
I see the military offer out there now, too. Neither I nor Dh was, but DFil was. He has been deceased for many years, but am wondering if I can get his Mom to buy them. But, I think she'd need to come with us then. I'd love for her to, but I don't think she wants to. She's never been and doesn't think she'd like it. I think she'd love it. We'll have to see. But that would save use a good bit. We'll see. Hope some of you can take advantage of that, too!

brandip22
02-20-2010, 09:07 PM
OMGracious, so I have not been doing too well on this, have I? Whoops! I swear, during the school week, I just lose track of everything else. Well, let's see if I have any updates. For the past few days, I have been trying to iron out some of our plans as far as ride and eating. The rides I have not finished, but I think I have the meals done for the most part. DH was laughing at me today when I was telling him my plans. But, he will SO be glad I've done all of this when it's time to go! At least he better be! :goodvibes I think we'll not do WCC and I think we might do Margaritaville one night and ESPN for lunch or dinner when at DHS. OK, we will definitely do Margaritaville. That's DHs one request as we're pretty big parrot heads. Plus, he really only drinks Landshark and I have seen that they aren't listed on any of Disney's beer lists. So, he'll definitely want one of those at some point- or three of those! ;) And a good margarita will be a blessing for me with the 23 month old at that time. He's starting to not do so well at restaurants- I am talking about the baby (Nate), not DH :lmao:

OK, so the past week or so has been crazy here as well. I was planning to use a portion of our tax return on our trip- the tickets. But, we needed new tires for the truck, our washing machine died and DH had already planned to build a deck. SO, oh well on the plan to have the tickets out of the way:scared1: We're getting PAPs this time, too. So, I'm just trying to re-work our monthly budget now to account for that. We're getting a little bit from the state, too, so I can put that towards our tickets. Also hoping DH will get a bonus in April like he's suppose to. Wish us luck on that. It'll be so great if we can get all of these big expenses out of the way so that when we go next year, we'll just have to worry about gas and food.

OK, now to life updates. We are wondering about starting to potty train Nate. He is 20 months right now. My older DS didn't get trained until after 3:eek:. He had a really hard time. In fact, he still wets the bed at times and he's 7 1/2. But, Nate is already talking about the potty and wanting to watch us on the potty. I bought him a potty and let him play with it and all. He wouldn't sit on it at first. Then, he did, but with the seat down and his clothes on:laughing: Now, he will sit on it bare-bottom, but only for a brief time and hasn't actually DONE anything on it yet. But, he's figured out how to make it clap and sing even without peeing in it:lmao:- smart little butt. So, I think he's getting there. We also did the houseparty for PullUps this weekend. He watched the little video and immediately wanted to go to the potty. Again, just sat there for a few seconds, but that was cool at least. So, I'm thinking he's getting close. BUT, I don't want to start him and then have it get off track due to Disney. I'm thinking we'll let him if he wants to until the trip and then we'll start for real after that. Any opinions out there? I just am worried that we'll miss the best time if we wait.:confused3

OK, so going to play my game- tradewinds! Have a great weekend:)

Hey! Brandi
wondering where you went to! :rotfl2:

your Disney planning sounds alot like ours around here...although, we finally booked our trip.

as for potty training...Ashton started showing interest around two but didn't start to pursue it until right before our trip last May. I did not push him due to our trip and his surgery in June...I think I stunted him(so I would say if he shows interest go with it--we did a sticker chart we found at the dollar store w/Elmo it was a potty coloring book and sticker chart)...but, he did great with the going #1 but, we are still battleing #2 (he will only do that laying flat on his stomach--kind of hard to get him to do it sitting :confused3 ) my older two were potty trained over night on the eve of their third bday (weird).Good luck!:confused3

UPDATE: IT WAS LIKE Ashton read this when I typed it...we put together a reward box for him (around January) and he finally got the message last week! we are still having issues but we went to the store to replenish his box today!

looking forward to hearing more about your disney planning! :mickeyjum

well Danny and I went run to Walmart, Gwendolyn gave Ashton a bath in the jacuzzi tub eeewwwweeee...black gook in the bubbles that were as high as the tub, when the water and the bubbles finally drained I had to go and buy tub cleaner for us to use the tub!

Well, good morning!! I am waiting to go to the Dr for lab work- yuck!!! I found out yesterday that I have early stages of hypertention- just great! For the last 3 visits, my "bottom" number on my blood pressure has been elevated. So, he's worried. HE said to lose at least 20 pounds and watch the sale intake. Now, I'll admit, I am a total salt-aholic. So, I won't add that to everything anymore. And I guess I'll have to switch to low salt Tony's. I also have to do a cholesterol test this morning. Geez, I hope that's ok. I mean, I'm only 34!! And I'm overweight, but not like way overweight. I guess family genes have some to do with it. Anyway. We did our first P90X workout last night!! I was so very nervous and did not expect to make it through it. But, I did! Of course, I couldn't do every rep on every exercise. But, I did a lot of them. The main ones I couldn't do were the push up ones- and the abs where you have to do the banana pose. So, I see what I need to work on! The lunges were good, though. And tonight we'll do the Cardio X. Oh, last night was Core Synergistics. Alex and I will go for a walk today, too. Not to exercise as much as to get ready for Disney walking!!! 51 days to go- whoo whoot!
OK, well, gotta get ready for the Dr. See ya real soon!

Ah, the weather today is wonderful! Mid-80s and sunshine for miles! I hope it's like this for our trip in 34 days!!! WOW! So close:cool1:

So, I am getting close to having all of the things we need money for done- like tickets and meals- lol. I bought my AP, DSAlex has a ticket that will be upgraded to his AP. I will buy DH's AP next week. Then, we'll just need our gas and food money. I am so excited- YAY!

I haven't been planning as much lately- i think I got burnt out :sad2:

But, it's getting so close now that I have to get my butt in gear!

I found out that our district added two teacher days on to the end of the year to make up for our 2 snow days:headache: That just means that I will be on vacation those last two days- oh well!
That just means I gotta get everything cleaned up and out of the classroom fast. I have started cleaning and organizing boxes so I can begin taking them out. I brought one this week-:rotfl:- just one b/c the others were heavy and someone swiped my cart!

I have three ready to go and will just need to do this last bulletin board for May and I can get a few more out. I will just have my center stuff left. I think I'll start taking down the room decorations at the beginning of May as that will be harder and take a bit more than anything else. Too bad we can't come up there on a weekend like at the beginning of the year.

Anyway, going to look at the other TRs to catch up- I am so horrible at keeping in touch this year- gotta blame it on being a new teacher!

Oh- forgot to add that my cholesterol was great- 139! We've been doing the P90X for a little over 2 weeks now! It's hard, but doable. I haven't lost any weight:( But, DH is looking great- MEN!

Oh, and I passed my PLT- made a perfect score, too- WAAHOOOO!! Too bad that doesn't matter when looking for a job!

 Hey Brandi, so glad to hear that your lab work came back good :thumbsup2. How has your blood pressure been? I have been working on losing weight too, and all I have been able to lose so far is 5 lbs :headache:.

It is good to know I'm not the only one still saving up the Disney spending money :rolleyes1. I paid my trip off a couple weeks ago and we will renew our APs when we get down there on the 22nd. Since we are on the DDP all we really need is gas and spending money. I can't believe we are only 34 days away from our trips now :dance3::banana:. It seems like so long ago when the planning began.

04-26-2010, 03:20 PM
OK, so I have tried to update this a zillion times, but my computer keeps kicking me out of the disboards before I can finish! So, I'll try to do a quick update!

We are now going to add on points when we get there this year. We really need and want to stay in 2 BRs now with the boys- just 2 and little, but since they'll go to bed early, I don't want to have to either carry them from our bed to the LR couch or be stuck in our room. We decided to go ahead and borrow points from enxt eyar to upgrade for this trip. That way, we will still have enough points to stay since we are in the window to get our 2009 points still (Aug UY). We'll end up with 300 points- and 330 for next year since we have 30 left over. I am so excited that we will get to stay in a 2 BR! BUT, I am a little bummed b/c all we could get was SSR. Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE SSR and it is our home. But, we were really excited to try AKV or another resort we haven't tried yet. On the other hand, I am thrilled that we are so close to DTD and everything else in general. I was a little uneasy with being at AKV since it's so far from everything. All in all, I am happy, but was really hoping to get something at VWL. I know that's a hard one, but I hoped! Oh well!

Anyway, only about 24 days left I think! YAY!

Thanks for stopping by ladies! I am starting to worry a bit about having everything ready. With getting school all cleaned out and getting packed, I am not sure when I'll have time for it all. ARRGHHH! But, in 2 weeks, we will be on our way!

I have an interview with a new school next week that I am so excited about! It's a very good private school in the city. I am hoping I will like everyone and the school- and of course, I hope they want me to work there. I also hope that my kids get to go free if I do because there is no way we could afford it! But, that's thinking a little ahead!

We are going to try to do some trip shopping this weekend. I need some shorts, Nate needs a swim diaper and Alex needs a swimsuit. I also want to get those FrogTog cool sheet things as they are awesome and will help us stay cool on the trip! Oh, and I ordered a City Micro from allbeebaby and I am praying that it comes in on time. It didn't say how long until it'd ship, but I did do UPS shipping. I will die if it's not here when we go! Here's hoping!!

what is a FrogTog never heard of it; but, it sounds interesting!

good luck with getting everything together...even if you are throwing in the suitcase 1/2 hr before you leave...some of my best packing has been done that way!

Have a great time!

Thanks Connie!! FroggToggs are a brand of rain gear normally- they sell themn at BassPro and the are wonderful. They have something called a ChillyPad that is so cool. It's like a little towel that stays cool for hours, but somehow isn't wet. I mean, you wet it, but it doesn't feel wet. When you put it on your skin, it's really cold. I think it'll be great for the trip!

I went to Target yesterday and WalMart today. I have a ton of stuff for our trip! I still need to get some shorts for me as I'm still too big for most of mine. I was planning on getting out to shop today, but didn't. I decided to be Mother's Day Lazy! I guess I'll have to go next weekend since that's all I have left!! YAY

I really want to get a skort or two as well. I think that will be so much cooler and better as I hate shorts with my fat thighs. We'll see what I can find, though.

I told DH he had to cook tonight so we'll see if I get dinner- maybe that's a good weight-loss tool- make DH cook! We'll just go hungry- lol.
OK- gotta go check in on more May peeps!

So, 2 days and 12 hours until we leave!! :cool1: I have school through Friday, but the kids' last day is tomorrow! I am so very excited! I need to call to put in my room requests, but I still can't decide on doing the online check in. I think I will and then will just ask to switch if the room isn't where we'd prefer. Of course, it doesn't matter really as it will be Disney!

I packed pretty much everything on Saturday. I had a few things left that needed washing, but that was it. Now, I just need to wash all of our regular clothes because I don't want to come home to dirty clothes. I also need to get the house clean so it's not a mess to come home to! I'll have friends coming into to feed and walk the dog, too.

So, here is what I think is our final intinerary:

Sat- 2 AM- leave home at 2 AM (or earlier if we are too excited to sleep!) Check in to SSR around 2 PM. If room is ready, we will go in, unpack and relax. If not, then we'll wait or explore the resort! CM ADRs at 5 or 5:40- I forget! :confused3

Sun- DHS- for SWW- For me and the little guy, we'll do TSM at RD, then PHD. Then maybe see a few other things if it's not too crazy. Otherwise, we'll head back to resort and nap then meet big boys at MK that evening for SPECTRO!

Monday- EPCOT! Le Cellier for lunch

Tuesday- TL- TRex ADR for dinner

Wed- MK!!

Thurs- AK- Donald's Bfast- dessert at RFC, then either Margaritaville or WCC for dinner- can't decide and will depend on our level of exhaustion!

Fri- MK!! O'hana ADR for dinner- may cancel- we'll see how budget is doing!

Sat- go home

After a year of planning, it is finally here! I am so excited and hope we savour every minute! Of course, we will be back next year and many more to come since we are DVCers. But, it's been almost 3 years since anything in Orlando- just did US/IOA in 2007 and MVMCP. Been 4 years since Disney. First trip for little guy. Older DS doesn't really remember too much, just what I've told him and the pictures. So, it's been too long and we are ready to go!!

YIIPPEEE!

Oh, and we just got a new CityMini Stroller in LIME GREEN!! Yep, that fun DIS color- the color was actually not due to DIS but lack of other choices I wanted! So, say hi to us if you see us!!

So, I now have 15 hours until we head out on our journey! :cool1::banana: So Cool! I am sitting at school waiting to leave, but can't leave until 4:30 today. I have to go to WalMart, so will try to do that during lunch. All I really need to do is finish unpacking my school studd when I get home, finish laundry- stuff we're not taking, but I refuse to come home to old laundry! And I'll need to clean the house as I also refuse to come home to a messy house! Oh and laod up the truck of course! I'll fill it up with gas on the way home. DH got some cash, I have a list to make sure we have everything. I hope we have it all. DH said to me this morning, " What am I going to do about tennis shoes?" :confused3:eek: Huh? He never wear tennis shoes except to mos in. He lives in his sandals- I forget the brand, but expensive ones that he said he'd wear every day. When I questioned him on this, he said- what if it rains? Ummm- I think you'd prefer sandals that can get wet and dry fast over socks and tennis huh? Then, he said, What about blisters? WHAT??? You've never had a blister and you wear these things everywhere, every day, except for while at work. Then, I said, well go buy some shoes today then. He said Oh no! I don't want to do that! MEN!!!! :sad2: So, maybe I'll just go get him some to shut him up? ARG!
I also wanted some water shoes for TL but have yet to find any. Maybe I can find some at Wal-Mart- let's hope! If not, I'll just do without.

Oh, and we added on the DP yesterday as a last minute decision. I called in my room requests and then did online check in- did I mention that already? Anyway, we weren't going to use the DP and were just gonna do TIW, but then I realized that we'd end up spending more on groceries and all than DP woudl cost when we factored in the sit downs we were having. The difference was nothing. We'll only have the tips and part of that will be made up by not buying the TIW card. Yes, I know I could have used it the next time we come, but I like the ease of the DP and it makes me not worry so much what I'm spending. So, we'll see how we feel about it this time since we don't get the appetizers and tips aren't included. If we don't like it, we'll just not get it again.

OK, shutting up now I guess! I'm sure they'll be an update at some point as I am already too excited to sleep! Couldn't sleep last night, so I know I'll be up until we leave at 2 AM!

We're here! I am sitting here in my SSR 2BR Villa! So tired already!! We left at 2 AM Saturday morning like we planned :scared1: It was a good trip down. I didn't sleep the night before, DH got about 3 1/3-4 hours of sleep, though. He started the drive as I can't see at night. At about 6 AM, I started driving so he could sleep. We got to the resort at about 2-ish. We did do online check in and it worked out well. There was one person doing that already when we got in and we had a wait about 5 minutes. No biggie at all though. We basically got all of our requests except being by the pool. But, we are at the Grandtand area, which I love! It's the first bus stop- yay! That really helps.

We got into our room, took baths/showers, etc and felt so much better. Then we headed out to Contemporary. We drive over there, though. We had our first meal at CM at 5 PM. That worked out well. We forgot about the time change though and got there way early. Oh well. Nate (DS 22 mos) was too cute with the characters. Who knew what would happen when he finally saw them? Would he be scared, freak out, go crazy?popcorn::

He actually just started with the biggest eyes ever at them! He loves Donald and kept saying "duck" while seeing him. We kept him in his high chair most of the time to avoid issues. I let him out with Mickey though and got the cutest picture of him hugging him! I will upload and post that ASAP.

So afterwards, we decided to head over to MK to see Spectro for the first time ever. First, we had to exchange our AP voucher and upgrade DH and buy DS'(Alex). That was a nightmare, lemme tell ya!

We took the monorail over to TTC, but the ticket booths were closed already. Maybe I couldn't have gotten them there anyway, but that made me a little mad. Then, the monorail back to the MK was closed, so we had to take the bus over. We got over to Guest Relations and finally got our tickets done. After DH got over the sticker shock:scared: we :scared:went on into the MK. I was dying by then. But, I'm glad we got that hassle over with before our first real park day.

So, on to do some rides before Spectro!! We first went to Adventure Land. The Jungle Cruise line said 85 minutes:confused: I can't imagine it was really that long, but didn't want to chance it. So, we got FP for about 30 minutes later instead. Headed over to the Tiki Room and got right in. Then, went on Pirates, which said a 20 minute wait, but probably wasn't that long- we walked right through with very little stopping. Maybe it was 20 minutes by the time we got all the way up there, but it was quick. I was a little worried about DS2 on it since he's so young, but he did great. Just kinda took it all in. When we got out, it was time to go to the Jungle Cruise- one of our favorites. Man, the backside of water just doesn't get old, does it?;) Love those corny jokes! Both DS really liked this and it is already clear that DS2 will love anything that involves a boat. When we left, he kept waving and saying "bye boat." Sweet baby.

We then headed to Main St to watch Spectro. Loved that one! So cool. Left MK before Wishes, though. Walked back to Contemporary to get truck and get home. Ahhh, bed!

Next up, Will we survive SWW with a baby and hot weather?
