Hi!! This is my 2nd PTR and I'm excited to get it going!! (the link to my 1st PTR is in my siggy if you want to check it out) I hope you will subscribe!!

We are headed back to WDW May 22-29, 2010 and will be staying at the Polynesian again! This will be the 2nd trip for my 2 dd's and they could not be more excited to be going back!! This will be my fourth trip--my first trip was when I was 3 years old and my 2nd trip was the Spring of 1994. I was a freshman in high school and we had a choir competion at WDW. This past May was my third trip (the girl's 1st) and the trip that began our Disney addiction!!

So why the PTR title?! Well we went to WDW to celebrate our 10th anniversary May 16-23, 2009--it turned out to be a week with record rainfall (i.e. the day we went to AK it rained 11 inches in one day)!! It rained everyday of our trip ALL day long!!! It was a VERY wet trip--we lived in our ponchos! So this year we are PRAYING for great weather. I actually got the phrase from my friend Leanne (leamom2princesses) from her PTR. Leanne and her precious family were at WDW the same week as us in May and will be there the same week again this next May!! So thanks Leanne for the inspiration for my title!! :goodvibes If you would like to read about our rainy trip, here is the link to my TR: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2195092.

Time for introductions!!!

Who:
Me (Becky)--30 year old Disney addict!! My family and I live in Memphis, TN (well--a suburb really). I am a former Kindergarten teacher and am now a SAHM! I enjoy DISing/blogging, bow making, theater, singing, volleyball, shopping, Alabama football (roll tide!!), Facebook (sooo addicted!), photography, and being the room mom for Ally's Kindergarten class. I am very active at my church where I sing solos/duets (with my dh), sing in our Worship Choir, and help teach the Kindergarten choir. I am a perfectionist/OCD and take planning this trip very seriously!! (And it's oh so much fun!! ) Dh is constantly asking me, "So what's happening on the DIS?!" (I'm on here a lot--it's sooo addicting--I know you can relate!) May cannot get here fast enough--so in the meantime I get my Disney fix here on the DIS reading PTRs and TRs.

Here's a pic of me and my girls at Chef Mickey's:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/092.jpg

DH (Brent)--36 and just as addicted to Disney as I am!! Brent is an engineer/manager of international relations for his company, Star Wars buff, and HUGE fan of the Crimson Tide (he and everyone in his family went to U of A). He coteaches our Sunday School Class, is a deacon at our church, and sings in the Worship Choir. Brent is the smartest person I know but is also down-to-earth and much more laid back than I. We met in 1996 (when he moved to TN from AL) and were married in 1999.

Brent and Ally in the Poly lobby:

DD (Ally)--age 5--a mini-me!! She looks like me and acts like me (scary!!). She is in Kindergarten and is the highest reader in her class (reading on a 3rd grade level)!! She loves princesses, taking dance (this is her 4th year), American Girl dolls, drawing, reading, anything Disney, singing in her Kindergarten choir at church, and taking piano (this is her 1st year). She is quite the performer--last Christmas she asked her choir director if she would be getting her own microphone for their choir performance!! Hee hee! She thrives on a schedule and when anything deviates from it--watch out! (she may be more OCD than me! YIKES!! What have I created?!?!) Her favorite princess is Ariel and she her favorite fairy is Tinkerbell!

DD (Claire)--age 2--and my baby!! She is a ball of energy and is my climber--she has no fear! She is also pretty coordinated. She started taking dance this year (tap and ballet) and just LOVES it!! She has finally gotten used to me taking lots of pictures and will actually smile for pics now!! She is also a lot louder than Ally was at this age but is much more cuddly than Ally was. She is precious!! She likes to sing along with us--I think she is going to be a soprano like me! She knows how to make anyone smile--especially if she's getting in trouble--such a stinker!! Her favorite Disney character is Minnie Mouse but ALL of the princesses are a close 2nd! She loves dressing up in her many princess costumes and she really has a thing for shoes! She asks to put on her shoes as soon as she wakes up in the morning!!

This time my parents and my brother will be joining us!! My parents haven't been to WDW since they took me in 1983 and my brother has NEVER been!!! We will be celebrating my parent's 39th wedding anniversary on our trip(May 29th). We can't wait to show them everything!!! This will also be our very first time NOT to be on vacation by ourselves. We've never gone on vacation with family before (since we've been married). I think it will be nice to have help with the girls this time around!!

my mom (Nana)--will be 60 in January--just retired from teaching. She taught college Reading and Study Skills classes. She taught part-time when I was little and also worked as a substitute teacher when I was in elementary school and high school. She lives about an hour away in Jackson, TN. She is very involved in her church and sings in the choir. She is also very involved in our lives--she came and stayed with us while Brent was in Indonesia and India these past 2 weeks.

my Dad (Pop Pop)--will turn 62 on Dec. 1st--college professor and Associate Dean of Christian Studies at Union University (a small christian college in Jackson, TN--my alma mater). My dad enjoys reading, writing for christian publications, jogging, spending time with his family, teaching a Sunday School class at his church, and serving as head of the deacons at his church. I'm such a Daddy's girl and think the world of my Dad!! We're a lot alike--perfectionists, first borns, etc.

Here is a recent pic of my Mom & Dad:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20PTR%202/004.jpg

and with the girls at the Pumpkin Patch:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20PTR%202/153.jpg

my brother (David)--age 27--is single, lives in Washington, D.C., and works in public relations. David is 3 years younger than me and we are really close. He is such a great guy! He's super-outgoing and enjoys jogging, traveling, is involved in his church, and is a GREAT singer! We used to sing together when we were younger! He worked as a White House intern while he was in college and is really into politics. I miss him a lot now that he lives so far away!

When: May 22-29, 2010

Where: The Polynesian!! We stayed here last May and fell in LOVE with the Poly!! We love being so close to the monorail--it's sooo convenient!!

How: We will be taking a direct flight (the earliest we can get)!! We want to get there as soon as we can!!

And to leave you with some of my favorite pics from our last trip!!

Thanks!! Everyone just seems so friendly :) so I'm so happy to have finally joined. Your family is beautiful and your girls are absolutely adorable little princesses!! princess: princess:. I'm pretty sure I remember the rainy weather of the week you were here last year...it just kept raining all day, every day. Even my co-workers, who've lived here far longer than I have, kept remarking at how unusual it was. In any event, it's great you and your family still made the best of it and had a blast at Disney :) I hope that you have much better weather this time!

Hi Angela!!!! Glad you're here!! And thanks again for making all of the ADRs for me this morning!! You are the BEST!! :goodvibes

Yeah, I am here! :cool1:

Can't wait to read all about it!!

Hi Katie!!! Glad you made it over!!! YAY!

~Jessica :goodvibes

DISers are very friendly!! I had the privilege of meeting 5 DISers on my last trip and I felt like I had known them my entire life!! Welcome again!!! :goodvibes

And I'm sure the clippies will be coming along for the trip as well?? I love those...they're too cute! :) Sorry for all the questions...I'm just excited for you :yay:

No, not too early to think about!! Yes, I will try and match the girls in customs as much as possible!! I hope to get something Star Wars themed made for our day at HS for SWW. And maybe something Hawaiian for our O'hana breakfast!! I have a lot of ideas!!! Yes, the clippies will definitely be coming along on this trip as well!! Don't be sorry for asking!! Where do you order your customs from? Do you get them from Etsy and if so, is there a particular seller you like? I may want to get some for my DD, since they are SOOO cute!

Thanks!

You'll have to read my story regarding those customs from my last PTR!! The shortened version--a "friend" on another board made the outfits but I didn't get them until just a few days before we left. Many friends of mine who also ordered things from her never received their customs AND she's not returned phone calls, PMs, etc. So I cannot recommend her, so sorry. I will have to start from scratch when I decide what I'm going to order for my girls.

YAY :cool1: I am totally on board (of course)!! I love your title. I am praying for no rain for you guys!! Your parents seem so sweet. I love that you have all been teachers!! My grandmother, mother (and now me) are teachers! Something about it runs in the blood I think. Your ADRs look fab. I am looking forward to seeing what customs you guys choose! We are holding back a little on this trip, but I have found ways to personalize some things ;)

Awww yay I can't wait to follow along this time in your quest for customs! Your girls are adorable both individually and when they match :) Some Star Wars themed ones would be cute...I can only imagine how your SW themed clippies would look!! Will your girls dress up as the same princesses as last time?? (ie Cinderella for BBB, etc.) Ooh so exciting your trip is at 180 days away and that you got the ADRs you wanted, because now you can plan everything around them! :) I've been wanting to try CRT and CP lately because I just love Cinderella Castle and MK in general, but I think we're going to wait till the new year. Can't wait to hear more...

Hey!! I usually use www.izzybonline.com for my customs. She makes reversables and has lots of appliques to pick from. Of course, that is before I found etsy.com. I am sure that I will order most of my shirts from etsy from now on because their prices seem better. However, izzyb's quality is great, so it is worth it for reversables.

To give you an idea of what she has, I think she offers princess lea (?? spell??) Minnie Mouse!!! And jedi mickey. Would be totally cute for the girls. She orders her appliques from a lady overseas, so her website is kind of confusing to navigate, but it has the best appliques I have seen yet. Another one I wanted to use was a mickey shape with the "world" inside (like a map) for EPCOT. Also VERY cute Christmas and Cruise ones for the future.

Only bummer is that she just had a baby, but I think her Mom is helping her sew. Check it out!!

Had to join in on this Tennessee girl's report. You have a beautiful family. Since being a grandmother is one of my very greatest joys in life, you can understand why the above picture is my favorite. :)

We've probably traveled some of the same TN roads, as Jill and John went to Freed and now live in Huntsville.

I will enjoy waiting for your trip with you. I know it's still far away from your trip, but if you want the girls to get a postcard from Mickey, we could send one from WDW when we are there in December. You can PM, if you are interested.

I dream of staying at Poly someday.

And Beach Club.

And Animal Kingdom Lodge.

And every other Disney resort at least once.
I hope I live a long time so that we can accomplish this. :)

Glad to see you got your ADR's you wanted! I am 'hoping' to go back next Thanksgiving or Christmas...I just don't know about the crowd levels. From what I hear, they are awful that time of year, but I am just dying to go during the holidays! We are fixing to start our new house though, and with my luck, we'll be right in the middle of that. Thought of you Monday, I went to Bridgestreet (that fabulous mall in Huntsville) while we were waiting on our car at the Volvo dealership. I didn't know Ally plays the piano now. Amy just started Clarinet this year too, and Emily has been playing Flute for a few years now. One day maybe at church Ally could play piano while you and Brent do a duet.:lovestruc
Did you consider trying out for AEI on your trip?
Happy Thanksgiving

Welcome home!! So glad you found my PTR!! I'm so glad ya'll had a wonderful trip and can't wait to hear all about it!! Are you doing a TR? I hope so!! I'm hoping one day soon Ally will be able to sing with us--Brent is trying to teach her to sing harmony!! But it would be neat for her to accompany us on the piano as well!! I never thought about trying out for AI on our trip. It would have been fun I'm sure!! People have told me for years that I should try out for the show but I love my life just as it is now!! I wouldn't trade it for anything!! :goodvibes Happy Thanksgiving!!

I sure will Becky. I'm glad I get to see it now, but I'm not crazy about the reason . I will be watching it alone though, Amanda is going to an Iron Bowl party, Dale will be at work and Tyler nor Dallas care much for football :scared1:. But hey I can yell as loud as I want too.

!!!!!!!!!!!ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoo hoo!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!! I'm hoping for a beatdown but you never know with this rivalry!

Thank you! Yes, I'll be doing a TR. I'll be starting it tomorrow since for once I have no crazy black friday shopping plans. I'll give you the link for when I start it.
AIE looks so much fun. I would try out but I don't want to make a fool of myself since I can't sing. Even if you don't try out you should def. watch it. It's so much fun. I'll keep my eyes peeled out for you on the actual american idol.:rotfl2:

Ooh, very cute printables. Unfortunately I didn't see them in time to do it for Thanksgiving, but really they'd be good for anytime. How do I become a Mickey Mouse Club fan on Facebook? Just search for "mickey mouse club" Is it an official site?

I'm sorry you're just now seeing them! I also found a Mickey Mouse template for a pumpkin that I saved for next Halloween. You just become a fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Here is the link: http://www.facebook.com//photo.php?pid=841088&id=1035906284#/MickeyMouseClubhouse?ref=ts.

The show was incredible!! I watched it with Ally, Brent, Claire, my mom, and my brother. Everytime Claire saw Cinderella Castle she kept yelling, "Rella's castle!!"--she was soooo excited!! I was thinking the SAME thing about the organization!! That's a TON of decorations to organize, store, etc.

He doesn't care what people think but he has the Disney bug as badly as I do!! :lmao: THEN I said that we should go the next year for Halloween and he agreed!! Whoo hoo!!!!

From AG I ordered (for Ally):

Kitís Cookstove
Kitís Produce & Preserves
Doll Hair Studio DVD
Curlicue Daybed
Butterfly Bedding
Julie Cooking Studio

for Claire:

2-in-1 Green Apple Set + Book
Bitty Baby Nightie for Girls (S)

OH MY GOODNESS!!! That is amazing!! We can maybe finally meet eachother!! :goodvibes Even though I feel like I know you so well!

We went to WDW last year duing Halloween time..SO cool. The fall decorations are beautiful and my SIL says MNNSHP is amazing. My DH and I had the same convo about going to WDW too many times a year. Dont think that it is a problem in our house either!! haha I ran into a friend the other day (she is my friend on facebook) and she asked me if Disney pays me to advertise for them on facebook...and she was serious :rotfl:

Let me know what dates you guys are thinking of for Christmas. Also, if you notice my siggy, we are cruising the dream in May 2011! I was hoping maybe you were too :cool1:

OK so IF ag will let me order I am getting...

Hair Studio Accessories
Hair Studio DVD
Cheer Set (purple and yellow--LSU!)
Ballet bag for Abby and her doll
One of the sparkle holiday dresses (cant remember the name)
Julie's cooking studio

She got the bed and bedding for her bday last year...ugh...much better price that you got~!!!

Also, I bought her Samantha Christmas DVD and Chrissa DVD at Target of all places! Pretty reasonable. She is getting Chrissa for Christmas.

You're going christmas next year?!?!:cool1:
We're probably either going thanksgiving or january. January the girls always have a 5 and a half day weekend but the decorations will be gone... so it's a tough decision. I think we may rent DVC points at either WL (1 of my dream resorts), AKl (visited this trip, OMG), or BLT. I know nothing about renting points so I need to look at it or there is also the POFQ or CBR option. Good thing I have about 6 months before ADRs to decide.
P.S- The special last night was amazing!!
I'm going to go look at that link right now. I want to have MVMCP at my house.

Hey! Becky
I printed out a bunch of projects today; we did the countdown calendar and a coloring page of mickey & minnie decorating the tree; we are doing the ornaments tomorrow (I had seen it on Leanne's PTR so thanks to both of you for sharing)! We had watched part of the behind the scenes last night...I told Danny we could both work there (me in the floral dept and him with the heavy equipment
[he is a crane administrator/operator]:rotfl: how cool would that be).

Anyway, that is great that you are already lining up your disney vacays (sounds like AP's are in ya'll future and DVC maybe :rolleyes1 )...we are going back the week after Thanksgiving 2010! maybe ya'll will go that week and we can meet up...(we are looking for a low crowd week--heard that is the week to go--hope so! )

Ally started getting the catalog about 2 years ago and she was hooked! I always wanted an AG doll--but I was a little older when they came out and I was already collecting Madame Alexander dolls. So I was excited to shop for AG!! We've been slowly reading the historical stories together. I wanted her to know the story behind the doll before she got it. We actually went to the AG Place in NYC last Christmas. We were visiting my family in Cherry Hill, NJ and took the train into NYC! We spent the day shopping there, got Ally's pic taken with her doll, and ate at the AG Cafe. It was AWESOME!! Then we went to the Dallas store this summer when we were there visiting Brent's sister.

Thanks for the heads up on the Pixar movie shorts. I'll have to catch the ones at 9 when we get home from church!!

Your Thanksgiving pictures are beautiful. It looks like you had a lot of fun with your family. How awesome to be planning 3 Disney trips!!!! One of my best friends is leaving for Disney on Saturday and I'm so jealous. She goes at this time every year. I've always wanted to see the parks all decorated for Christmas!

Oh my gosh, at first I thought you meant you were going to do May, Halloween, and Christmas trips all in 2010! But still, that is going to be awesome going twice in one year. I would so love to see all of the Christmas decorations in person, and of course MVMCP, and the Candlelight Processional. We taped that HGTV special, but haven't watched it yet. I think we'll watch it this Sunday at my parents after dinner - they are already asking me if I've found any deals yet for our trip next fall, so I know they're ready for some Disney!

I'm gonna hop on this train [a little late]! :) The week that you went last year is basically the week we're going this year so I'm praying that it'll be rain free for both your trip this year & mine! ;)

You're daughters are so adorable & you have such a cute family! I'm about halfway through your last TR, I've got to finish it!

I hope your Disney store has a fun craft and storytime set up! Halloween here was fun, organized but not for the crowd that showed up--they didn't know how to handle it). If it were not so late I would try it out; but, I'm turning blonde again that day--hehe!

Becky, all you trips sound awesome! We have been the beginning of December many times and Christmas week a few times. The decorations are spectacular! I love it there that time of year. My nieces all compete in Pop Warner up here in MA and my oldest niece actually came in first place last year in the Nationals at Disney. It was so great to be able to be there with her.
We want to go in the fall too. Hopefully i can convince the DH to plan a few trips!

Second, :yay: On the three upcoming Disney trips. I know it seems like Christmas next year is a long time off, but it will go by before you know it.

Third, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? I am excited about the game Saturday and I am nervous too. I hope Saban has been getting the team ready, and I hope the refs aren't on Florida's payroll :rolleyes1.

I love the pictures of the Ally and Claire at Thanksgiving watching the parade :) We was spent Thanksgiving at home in NY and I couldn't resist going to Macy's to get the Sailor Mickey plush...it's just too cute!! Early December is a great time to be at Disney although it can get crowded. However, Thanksgiving week is far worse. I think that this current week is a great time to go, though because everyone else is usually back to work the Monday after Thanksgiving. The weather is usually on the "colder" side but it's been weird here for the past month...it's been in the 70s and 80s so I haven't even started wearing jeans yet, still in shorts and tanktops! But, despite the oddity, the warmth is still wonderful...it's not as blazing hot as the summer months. Plus, all of the Christmas decorations (as you saw from the HGTV special), are absolutely amazing...there is nothing like Christmastime in WDW. I'm so excited for you and your family to come down December 2010!! Can't wait to see more pictures and hear more about your upcoming trip in May :goodvibes

On a side note, I loved AG when I was younger (they had to be thrown out when our basement flooded back in 1999 from Hurricane Floyd). I had Felicity, Kirsten, Samantha, and a Girl of Today. They were so much fun to play with. I think Kirsten and Samantha were my favorites...mostly because I loved their stories and accessories :) Hehehe :goodvibes

The normal temp for early December should be around the 60s or 50s. However, the weather being unpredictable here throughout the seasons, I'd suggest a lot of layering! We went to MVMCP three times last year...Nov 10. and Dec. 12th and 19th (we love this event and last year was our first time going). Well, the first two times I was absolutely freezing and Dec. 19th was the warmest! I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt comfortably! The weather varies :) This year we're going on Dec. 11 and 18...I'll let you know how the crowds are, etc. We're not going tonight because we have a passholder shopping event at DTD early tomorrow morning. Right now, it's kind of miserable outside, in the 60s, and it's been raining all day. However, yesterday was gorgeous..70s and sunny! It's unpredictable hehe. I'd say to expect any type of weather and temperatures ranging from the 50s (more at night) to the 70s :) No matter the weather, December is a lovely time to visit! I prefer November a little more because it's warmer and usually quite lovely outside, but December is wonderful and the Christmas season is in full swing! Hope this has been somewhat helpful! :goodvibes So excited for your trips!

The girls with Santa pics are awesome!! Love their dresses!

I like going Pop Warner week over the week after Christmas a bit better. Christmas week is very crowded, but with a good schedule you can do all you want to do and it not be too bad.
For Pop Warner week it can be busy, but not as bad as peak weeks. We stay at the Beach Club, so we really didnt notice the cheerleaders. I think if you actually stay where they are staying it is worse. My sister in law had to stay at the All Stars with their team and she said it was bad. But in the parks I really didnt see any of them. They have a lot of practices and really are not in the parks during the day.

Let me know if you have any other questions. The last five trips have been during December, with kids.

The santa pictures are so cute. I laughed out loud at the picture of Claire using hand motions to talk to Santa. Emily looked at me weird and then came on over to investigate. She kept saying "aww" at every picture.
Your merry looks so cool. Not the same as riding Cindy's horse but it's a nice disney fix!! Did you go to the Disney store?

Anytime!! Let me know if I could find out anything for you (DIS is such a wealth of helpful information, but I meant firsthand and almost instantly (the nearest weekend) like what lines are like for something or what's in stores or if you'd like any pictures of anything, etc.) at the parks and I'll try my best :goodvibes

Frankie and I are huge Disney fans and love going there as often as we can, even if just to walk around and explore.

In the meantime, how is planning coming along for your trip in May? Getting sooo close!!! :goodvibes

Thank you sooo much!! I really appreciate that! :goodvibes I wish we lived close enough to WDW that we could just go and walk around--maybe someday!! Things are going well in terms of planning for May. I feel that I don't have a whole lot to do right now since ADRs are made. I don't want to order outfits too far in advance in case my girls decide to grow on me!! :lmao:

Becky! I don't know how I missed that you started your TR, but glad to join in now! A little late, but I'm all caught up. I saw the Thanksgiving pictures on Facebook-- I love Claire's red jammies! Too cute.
Also love the Santa pics! Christmas is soooo close-- what did the girls ask for this year?
Kylie

Hi Kylie!!! Glad you made it over!! :goodvibes Thanks so much!! I can't believe how close Christmas is!! I'm nowhere near done with my shopping. Ally wants the American Girl doll Kit, Kit's dog Grace, Kit's pajamas, a Snow White Costume, Belle's Holiday dress, and the Tiana doll set. Claire is kind of young to tell me what she wants for Christmas so she is getting several of the Disney figurine sets, Mulan costume, Pochahontas costume, the crib her for Bitty Baby, a Bitty Baby stroller, etc.

We definately have the same exact carousel!!!! How funny is that!!

How funny!! :goodvibes

Tonight I've been working on a Tiana clippie for the girls to wear to the Princess and the Frog event at the Disney Store on Wednesday and for them to wear to the movie on Friday night. Ally and Claire were really excited when I surprised them with their clippies tonight (they had no idea I was going to make a Tiana clippie). Claire recognized it immediately, pointed, and said "Ana"! Take a look!!

Poor things, I think they are waiting for it to be like last year (we had a fluke 12" at our house--most of the surrounding areas has 3" - 9" but it stalled over about a 5-7mi area). I'm sitting here with Gwendolyn & Joe watching it in the outside lights; its so peacful and beautiful...should be gone by morning so Ashton is going to miss it(I hope it sticks around just long enough to get a picture of him in it). Dayne (remember he is 17) is across the street with friends, so those crazy kids are probably playing in it and will be sick by Monday (for school:rotfl: ).
Have a great night!

How funny!! Yeah--we don't get much snow here in Memphis either. But the past 5 years (ever since Ally has been born) it has snowed 1 day each year. And on those "snow" days you have to get pictures FAST before the snow melts!!

I am so not a crafty person, so when someone makes something like you, I am super-impressed. It's very cute. I'm going with my sister and her little girl to watch the movie. The boys aren't all gung-ho about going watch a princess movie. My sis works next weekend, so we'll be going the following weekend instead.

Not all of LA got snow last night. We waited and waited till almost midnight to see if we would have the slim chance occur. All of the rain had passed me by about 11:30, so it was a no snow for me.

HAHAHA Connie! We'll all probably be in shorts now for CHristmas Day. Only twice in LA history has there been snow 2 years in a row.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Becky...

sorry I've been a bit MIA on the boards over the last week or so... (sickness) and busy :laundy: are to blame....

Hi Laura! Yes, Ally is getting Kit for Christmas. She's been wanting her for awhile now. She was sad about Kirsten's retirement (we've read her stories) but settled for a mini doll to remember her by!! :goodvibes

Yes my Aldine is dissapointed too... we have the St. Lucia outfit and a few books. She wanted to get a few more things that she liked to use w/ her other dolls...but sadly all sold out (unless you want to pay a hefty price on ebay) My MIL bought her the mini doll too for Christmas (she has a little collection of them)

I knew you'd be trying for some of those deals on "Cyber Monday"...between my Mom and I we spent hours w/ their megga S-L-O-W!!! site that day and finally did get an order in!

Brent and I had a long conversation. I told him we should definitely go to WDW around Christmas next year (2010) and he said yes, we should!!!! :cool1::dance3::cool1: He asked me if it's weird for us to be going twice in one year and I laughed out loud!! He doesn't care what people think but he has the Disney bug as badly as I do!! :goodvibes THEN I said that we should go the next year (2011) for Halloween and he agreed!! Whoo hoo!!!! I am VERY excited!!! :cheer2:

The new trips in the works sound wonderful!!!! So are you going actual December time frame? I can't wait to see all the decorations too when we go...especially the castle!!!!

I love all the pictures from Thanksgiving and Santa (plus your new clippie)

The girls look so happy to be w/ their family and I love the shots of Clarie on the Carrousel...I spotted the turkey clippie too. :thumbsup2

Hi Julie!! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been sick! I hope you're feeling better!! I know what you mean about being busy!! This week we have at least 2-3 things to do each day--crazy!!

When all of the Kirsten retiring hype passes I'd check Ebay again. I bet the prices on things will go down. They did with Samantha. Yes, I was online at midnight trying to place my order--I'm glad I did after so many people told me their issues with ordering, the site being slow, etc.

Thank you for the kind words! We had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed seeing Santa!! It's hard to believe that Christmas is almost here!!

Oh my, those Santa pics are precious. Your girls are three years behind mine, so it really takes me back! Yes, we still did go see Santa, but I think Jenna (my nine yr old) is maybe on her last Christmas or two of believing in him. So sad! Another sign she's getting older - her Christmas list is pretty much a verbatim copy of the Justice catalog! Isn't third grade too young to be obsessed with clothes?? At least Lucy still wanted toys - she's easy:goodvibes

I'm here!! You know me too well!! I'm trying to catch up on other PTRs and TRs. This is a VERY busy week for us! Yesterday Ally had piano lessons and dress rehearsal for her Christmas musical. Today I was up at her school helping prep gingerbread houses for the kiddos to decorate on Friday and then I worked their Santa Shop for a few hours (kids come and shop for their family). Then I picked Claire up from MDO, picked Ally up from school, dropped Claire at home with Brent, headed to Ally's dance studio for Mommy Watch Night, and then to Barnes and Noble for her school's Book Fair. After that we came home, ate dinner, and watched Prep & Landing (sooo cute)!! Now I'm trying to relaxx but have to make some bows that need to be shipped tomorrow morning! Whew! It tired me out just typing all of that!! Tomorrow I'm Christmas shopping, taking the girls to the Princess and the Frog event at the Disney Store, then heading to church for Ally's choir Christmas party and choir practice for me!!

Hi Becky

Just love the Thanksgiving and Santa pics - I just love how you Americans throw yourselves into tradition - we don't have it so much here in the UK and it is such a shame!

I also loved how Ally behaved when the Reindeer on the Carousel had been taken - my DD Amber would have acted exactly the same. I always tell myself its nice that she has such spirit (even if it can be a little draining at times!)

I adore the Tiana bow - I haven't forgotten to place my order (you were going to look into international shipping for me) but as I didn't need mine before Christmas I thought I woudl let you get Christmas orders done first. You really have a talent!

Just getting caught up on your PTR. Been so busy lately not much to DIS, I guess tis the season. Anyway I love the pics of the girls with Santa, just beautiful! Those dresses are adorable too. Did you get them from Kelly's kids? It's sad Kaylee won't wear any hair bows at all now. It is a fight to even get her hair looking nice lately. She is so picky about her clothes too. Enjoy those precious little girls as long as you can, they grow up so fast. She is excited to see Princess and the frog this weekend hopefully. I really wish we could go the same week but we have so much going on. Kaylee has ( not out of school until the 25th!) dance rehearsals and Thomas has graduation for real this year ;). Looks like June for us this year. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip plans and seeing the outfits you buy for the girls .

I will have to remember that, thanks for the tip...oh and btw...I started my new PTR for BLT next yr November if you get a chance stop by and say  thanks

Hey Becky!! I dont think I ever posted about how much I like the Tiana clippie!! SOOO adorable. I am sure the girls looked so cute in them at the movies. I am going to post pics of my kids at the movie soon. As you know...this train has NOT stopped since I got off school! Right now, I am taking a break from making the 100 + gift bags for all of the kids classes and extra curriculars. :upsidedow

I also wanted to see if there is any chance that you could make me an aqua blue Minnie clippie and a red and black minnie bottlecap bow by January 5th? If not, no biggie AT ALL. I know the holidays are totally crazy and I would hate for you to take time off of your family since I waited SO long to decide what the kids were going to wear on this trip :rotfl:

Can't wait for your next update! I will probably post about the kid's outfits some time this week.

Looking forward to the P&F pictures. We saw the movie Saturday, and it's a good one! I don't think boys would be disappointed at all. It's got girly-girl stuff in it, but plenty of guys, too - good and bad. We are looking forward to seeing the Tiana musical show Magic Kingdom is doing very soon.

Like everyone at this time of year, we're all just trying to keep a steady pace at making our to-do lists grow shorter. Hope you continue to have success with that this week as you move into an exciting time next week. Hope you have great times with family and friends over the next couple of weeks, but most of all, that you just have some fun relaxing time being a mom. :)

Hello!!!! Joining in, in a little late, but better late than never!!!That's so exciting you and Leann are going back the same week again. I see everyone that planned May trips together going back in May again. I kind of wish I was too now. We're trying out the end of September this year though. Hoping for free dining or a good discount( we want to stay at Coronado Springs) and low crowds.

I LOVE the picture of the girls with Santa--so adorable. :) My Lilian did not do so well with her first meeting with Santa this year! LOL Today when we were at the museum, she saw him from afar and said Santa, Santa all excitedly. However, she was not thrilled to be close to him again today!

The clippie you made is too cute. :lovestruc I thought about trying my hand at some before we go down as opposed to buying them from Etsy. Should save a little money that way! :cool2:

Sorry I have been MIA everybody!! I was totally consumed in trying to finish Christmas shopping, Ally had her Christmas musical, planning and executing Ally's school Christmas Party, dance watch days for both of the girls, and I could go on and on! Then after everything was done on Friday, I woke up Saturday sick as a dog! But I made myself get up and wrap every present in the house (it was the only day I had to get it done)! Brent thankfully took the girls Christmas shopping with him for the day. I felt some better so I didn't think much of it. Well I woke up on Sunday morning and my throat was so swollen that I could barely speak or breathe! Brent and I were supposed to sing a duet at church that morning but that obviously didn't happen--I went to the doctor instead. I just knew I had strep (it's the only thing I've EVER had--when I get sick it's always strep)! I was right--it was strep! They gave me a lovely shot of Penicillan in the hip (which hurt like CRAZY)!! They told me that we needed to postpone our trip to Alabama until Tuesday (we were supposed to leave on Monday). Then we left and Brent got me a milkshake from Sonic and brought me home and I pretty much slept all day. Monday I woke up and felt some better. It was still hard to talk but as the day progressed, I felt even better. I ended up doing a TON of laundry and packing for me and the girls. Today we drove down here to Alabama--we'll be spending Christmas through the New Year here--so I should have plenty of time to relax and get back into the swing of things here on the DIS!! So look for more updates soon!!

One BIG thing regarding our trip is that a new deal came out on Monday!! Our family and my parents will both be receiving $750 gift cards when we check-in!! Not the best deal but it's definitely better than NO deal, right?! I'm excited and I'm trying to think about what we might use it for!! :woohoo:

Hi Becky! Wow! I am soooo late to your PTR. How did I miss the fact that you had started it??? I'm so sorry, but I am totally caught up now.

I hope that you are feeling better. There is nothing worse than feeling crummy while travelling. It just takes it all out of you. Hopefully you can get some good rest on your trip.

It's so nice that you are going to do a trip with family. We are the exact opposite of you guys....we seem to have some family with us on every trip that we take. It's really nice to share those special moments with them. I think you are going to have a great time!

BTW - we just watched the Disney decorating show tonight that you have been mentioning. My mom was watching with us and she said, "I think we all should plan to go to WDW together next Christmas so that we can see the lights." I agreed instantly (of course). We'll see.... but it's nice to think about!

Strep is what I get sick with too. The kids usually have it when I get it, except they are running around and playing like it is nothing and I am stuck in my bed and cant move! It is so strange how adults get it so much worse than the kids!

So happy you made it to AL! I know that you will be able to rest a little bit now! I made one more trip to Toys R Us (which is about 20 minutes from my town) because they got in some more Mickey Mouse Clubhouse kitchens for Aiden!:rotfl: I was laughing when I was checking out thinking of how much time I spend getting Disney things. ;) He will love it I think!

I spend Christmas at my Grandparents as well. What do you guys tell Ally and Clarie about Santa? My parents had us write letters to him telling him we would be at my Grandparents. It was so much fun to have the whole family together on Christmas morning. Have a WONDERFUL holiday, friend  Cant wait to see pics of all of the girl's goodies!! I know my kids are excited!

Ok--get ready for LOTS of links to pictures from our month of December! Sorry for all of the public Facebook links but I just didn't have the time to upload them all to FB and then to Photobucket and so on! But I did upload the Princess and the Frog event pics to PB so I will be sharing them!!

Dec. 6th: I'll start with the day we bought our Elf on the Shelf (who Ally named Mickey) and when we put up our Christmas tree.

Dec. 8th: Ally's Watch Night at dance
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=43988&id=1035906284&l=572da15f57

Dec. 9th: The Princess and the Frog Event at our Disney Store
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20PTR%202/004-1.jpg

They started the event by giving everyone masks to make (it was all punch-out pieces and then the stickers held it all together)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20PTR%202/006.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20PTR%202/003.jpg

Claire listening to the story of the Princess and the Frog
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20PTR%202/017.jpg

They read most of the story but stopped so they wouldn't give away the ending!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20PTR%202/019.jpg

The girls really enjoyed themselves!!

Dec. 10th: Claire's Watch Day at dance
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=43991&id=1035906284&l=2e22cfec1b

Dec. 11th: I went up to Ally's school to help her class make gingerbread houses
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44130&id=1035906284&l=3406ff0890

Dec. 12th: A local church does this thing called Alpine Village where they turn their gym into a beautiful village full of shops. It's free to the public and you go from shop to shop making different things. There is also a live nativity, North Pole where you can meet Santa, a puppet show, and an area with fake snow where the kids can play. We go every year! It is a lot of fun!!
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44132&id=1035906284&l=b197b6643e

Dec. 13th: We had an early Christmas with my parents!!
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44134&id=1035906284&l=09f824ad60

That night Ally performed in our children's Christmas musical at church!!
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44138&id=1035906284&l=4947c4530b

Dec. 14th-18th: Ally was the Star of the Week for her class!!
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44251&id=1035906284&l=4ed3e6b59b

Dec. 18th: Ally's Christmas Party at school that I planned and organized!!
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=44253&id=1035906284&l=a77d44a0f6

Then ya'll know that I came down with strep throat and we had to postpone our Christmas trip to Alabama a day. They ended up giving me a lovely Penicillin shot that was VERY painful but worked VERY quickly!! PTL!

Dec. 24th & 25th: On Christmas Eve Brent's mom's side of the family comes over and we eat a big meal. Then we hang out and each child gets to open 1 present from their parents. After everyone left, the kids got to open a few more presents from Nana and Pop and we exchanged gifts between the cousins. Then the kids went to bed and all of us adults opened all of our gifts (from Brent's parents and then between Brent and me). Check out the pics to see some of the fabulous Disney items that I received!! We all ended up staying up until 1:00 a.m. Our nephews woke up around 7:00 a.m. so we woke up and had to wake up the girls!! (my girls are great sleepers) We opened lots of presents and watched the Disney Christmas parade (which was fabulous)!! We lazed around most of the day and played with our gifts. We had a wonderful Christmas and I hope all of you experienced the same!! I love ya'll and look forward to a wonderful New Year with my DIS friends!!

Wow, you weren't kidding, that was a mega update!

I looked up "The Elf on the Shelf" and it seems like such a cute idea! I think this is the cutest picture: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=43987&id=1035906284&l=9d9e05406b#/photo.php?pid=893834&id=1035906284&l=9d9e05406b&fbid=1297550112271

I loved seeing the girls dance pictures. I always wanted to dance when I was younger but it just never worked out. The closest I will ever get now is our "Dancing with the Stars" DVD!

The Princess and the Frog event seemed like a lot of fun! Did your family enjoy the movie? My friends and I are hoping to see it this week or next, before all my friends leave! (Two are doing the college program in Disney, and one is studying abroad in England!)

Those gingerbread houses were great! My roommate and I tried to make one of those boxed houses for Halloween. For our disastrous results, see here: http://www.facebook.com/#/photo.php?pid=2853988&id=608588735 and http://www.facebook.com/#/photo.php?pid=2853985&id=608588735&fbid=160798323735 :rotfl:

Ally's Star of the Week poster was so fun. I don't recall having anything like that when I was in kindergarten! I also really like the compliment card-so nice to see kids writing nice things about each other!

Ally and Claire both seemed to really enjoy all their gifts. :santa: Claire's Minnie Mouse apron set was too cute. The Princess figurines you got were gorgeous! How do you like your Uggs? I got fake ones about a month ago and they are so comfortable and warm! I loved all Ally's American Gifts-I was obsessed with them when I was younger. Samantha was my favorite; I don't know if they retired her? The girls' princess costumes were awesome. I'm so jealous of the Belle Christmas one. Glad to see you had such a great Chrsitmas!

Hey! I finally made it over here! I haven't looked at all your December pictures yet, but the rest of your pictures are great! I love all your daughters' outfits. How fun that you've decided to go twice in 2010. I can't wait until we can go at Christmastime! Our trip last year (2009) was the week after you guys were there....we heard all about the rain from several Cast Members. I'll probably read your TR from last year, but I've got some catching up to do on PTRs first!

I'm at the library so I could really only look at the P & F pictures. The event looks so cute. How nice of the disney store to do that! I'm finally taking the girls to see the movie later today.

We did the Elf on the Shelf this year too. It was a huge hit. Bella named ours Frizzie. She loved looking for him every morning! On Christmas morning, he left her a note that said he would miss her and see her next year along with a small present. She thought it was really neat! It's a great tradition to start with young kids!

Oh my gosh, your December was as crazy as mine, I think! But I love it that way. The Princess and the Frog event looked really cool. I'm so bummed that they closed all the St Louis Disney stores. We just saw the movie last week and absolutely loved it. My husband loved the New Orleans music. Tres cool!
