I have made a reservation at HH where I am changing from a 2 BR to a 1BR during my stay. Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as the smoothest way to do this? Am I better off simply staying in the 2 BR? I did this to conserve my points. Thanks for the help.

Switching from one villa to another is easy to do. The only problem is that there will likely be several hours when you will be "homeless".
I would check at the desk the day before and "remind" them that you would appreciate any consideration to get you into the new villa as quickly as possible. I would remind them again the day of the change. They will store preishables and luggage for you during the change- if needed. No guarantees, but they may be able to push things for you. Good Luck!

Thanks, Doc. I realize that I may be "homeless" for several hours. I was wondering how to reduce this, if possible. Is it simply a matter of determining whether there is an empty unit that day? Since I will have children in tow, the less disruption there is, the better. Thanks again.

Depending on when you will be there, there may not be any vacant villas to just go to at 11AM, but I'd put a BIG smile on my face and just let them know you'd really appreciate any consideration in making the switch as quickly as possible. I'd plan some activity during that time if you can to help minimize the "homeless" feeling. Good Luck! (Saving points is NOT a bad thing at all!) :)

I just got back from HH. We had a great time. Hope you do too. There are a few 2 bdrm lockoffs at HH. If you ask for one of them and get it, then changing to a 1 bdrm for the remainder of your stay should only entail moving your things out of the second bdrm the morning of the switch. My friends did this and it worked out very nicely. Hope it does for you as well.
Have a great trip-

The 21 1BR's and Studios are all lock off units and can be combined as a 2BR. MS is reluctant to reserve these as a 2BR, but they might with some coercing! The studios and 1BR's seem to go very quickly, so don't be surprised if they won't allow this manuever, but it never hurts to ask. Good Luck!

Thanks. I never considered that. The only problem may be whether the lockoff units are non-smoking only. I like to enjoy a cigar on the porch and therefore requested a smoking unit. Does anyone know whether any of the lockoff units are smoking rooms? Thanks again for the help.
