For the OKW folks: Are any 1 BR units set up to be used alone or do they all have lock off doors to studios that allow the set up to be a 2 bedroom? Thnaks for the help.

Interesting question ... all the times I have stayed at a one-bedroom at OKW, I seem to remember a door to a studio. I'm curious what others will say.

I'm not aware of any dedicated 1BR villas at OKW. In the OKW resort survey, I didn't notice any 1BR's that looked like they weren't part of a lock-off.

Thank you Doc & Judith for your input. I have learned to be something of a fanatic when it comes to planning the details of a vacation. It is kind of a hobby of mine and I believe it has led to more enjoyable vacations. You have to accept the occasional unpleasant suprise, but I like to plan as much as possible to eliminate them or at least know that I have done my best to get the type of room that will suit my family's needs. For example I will sometimes request an "end unit" or an "upper floor" knowing it will give us a better chance of avoiding noisy neighbors and an upper floor request will also minimize the chances of getting handicapped style bathroom (no tub) at OKW so 2 items are addressed with one request. It doesn't always work out but I feel better for trying. My request about whether there were dedicated one bedrooms was made with the idea that such a unit might also be a little quieter than one with a studio attached. Even though I own at OKW since Oct 2000 I have been sampling the other resorts and have only stayed at OKW once so far. Thanks again for your comments.

Doc - is the survey you mentioned available on this web site? I am always interested in learning more about the DVC resorts?
Thanks again.
