I'm fairly new to this board, I have discovered that most of my questions are already asked and answered before I can even think of them!
Here's my question: I made ressies for CRT after they started requiring a credit card deposit. At that time, the CM said she was immediately charging my CC $10 per each adult and $5 per each child.

Recently, I found the Connections breakfast vouchers and ordered some thinking I would use some for CRT.

Now, my question is --what happens when we get the bill at CRT? Do they credit back the deposit?

Thanks for your help!

I thought they only charged the fee if you didn't show up?!?!

Anyone know how that works?

I don't know about the Connections Vouchers. Hopefully someone else will know!

Julesmom--You are charged the deposit at the time of booking. If you cancel outside of the penalty window, they credit your card back. If you show up, your deposit is taken off the price of your bill. If you don't show up and don't cancel in time, you forfeit the deposit.

I think JulesMom is right... I think it's only charged if the person doesn't show up or the person that shows up isn't the person that made the reservation... or something like that....

BUT :)

I'm sure that even if they do charge you the deposit ahead of time, that they will credit it back to you once you use your voucher...

I can verify that they do charge the deposit to your credit card immediately for CRT (the charge is on my current CC statement). The CM tells you when you make the ressie that they will do this--so, it wasn't a shock. ( This is part of the new procedure that went into effect on June 9th. )
I suppose that since this procedure just went into effect on June 9th and the reservations are usually always 60 days ahead of time that it might be too early to pose this question? (Ressies made on June 9 and later would be for Aug 8th and later...)
I have seen where others have vouchers for character breakfasts (other than the connections vouchers)--so Disney must have thought of this... It just seems a little more complicated than I first thought (because I am going to have to remember to look for a credit on my CC statement)...

I had a trip planned for this August. When I booked Cindy's in June they charged my card right away. I called back to find out if I could use my connections voucher for the breakfast. During this call found out two things. If you are using a package that includes meals, they will NOT charge your card right away. They'll only charge it if you don't show up. They pull up your reservation to see if you've booked a package.

The dining manager I spoke with said she never heard of the vouchers. She gave me a fax number and asked me to fax her a copy of both sides of the voucher. She said after looking over it she'd call me back and let me know if I could use it.
I never did fax the info to her. I think she needed me to prove that I had the voucher before she could credit the deposit back to the card.

I have changed the trip to November. I can book Cindy's in Sept. I hope by then someone will post their experience with the breakfast voucher and the new deposit policy.

disneyjunkie,

Thanks for sharing your experience! I think I will call them up and see how to proceed as I can see where it could easily get all messed up. (or maybe it is just my luck : ) ).

Perhaps, I might be one of the first ones to use the voucher under the new procedure. I will let you know how it goes :).

disneyjunkie,
Did I say Thank you? THANK YOU for the info! I just called regarding my ressie and spoke to someone at CRT. They were actually a little stern with me--and told me when I made my reservation, I should have said I was using vouchers--in which case they will use the credit card as a guarantee. (I felt a little silly--that I didn't mention it when I was making the ressie--I felt like I was doing good to think of it now! :) ). At least, it is all fixed now (I think). :)

I wonder why the CMs don't ask if you're going to use a voucher. They ask if you have a package that includes meals.
