John Bon Jovi was at Hollywood Studios yesterday. You think Bon Jovi is going to take over Rock n roller Coaster?

Aerosmith is NOT breaking up. :)

That would be awesome! He lives five minutes from me actually. Do you think he'd let me in so I could ask him? Lmao

I wouldn't mind U2, Bruce Springsteen, or KISS for music ideas.

In his Unofficial Guide, Bob Sehlinger states how the Imagineers first wanted The Rolling Stones for the music in RNRC.

The Stones wanted way too much money in royalties, and Disney execs said, "forget it".

Second choice was U2. Again, they were "too expensive".

Aerosmith was very much a distant third on the list, but the price was right.

Let's hope Bon Jovi is "reasonable", if a change is indeed in the works. ;)

(Personally, I'd love it to be Dave Matthews... But that ain't gonna happen) :hippie:

I've read elsewhere (maybe on these boards) that John Bon Jovi is a DVC member. I remember reading a trip report or two where he was spotted with his family at one of the resorts.

I am thinking the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Didnt they have a remake of Roller Coaster?

Flea could be jumping around head banging right when you walk in.

I've thought the same thing since they did use them for Space Mountain and California Screamin' out here at DLR. RHCP is my all-time favorite band, so that would be a dream come true for me! And a good replacement for Aerosmith, IMHO.

I really don't like U2 (I know, I'm like the *only* person in the world...I just don't get what all the hype is about) or Bon Jovi (unless they play "Blaze of Glory", that's the one song I like from them. LOL). Personally (and selfishly), I hope those aren't the replacements.

Sometimes celebs are just there on vacation... :)

I think the problem with replacing Aerosmith is doing so with another group that has a broadbase appeal AND a catalog of fast paced songs that work for a fast paced ride. "Dead Or Alive" just doesn't seem right.

Should RnR be classic or current rock music?

*BOTH*

I'd love to be able to choose the music, like the technology they have at Universal's Rip Rocket.

I'm sure the "powers that be" at Disney have thought the same thing.

6 good, rockin', fast-paced songs that would make Rock n' Roller Coaster with Bon Jovi great:

Runaway
Livin' on a Prayer
Bad Medicine
Raise Your Hands
It's My Life
Lay Your Hands on Me

I'd like Bon Jovi a heap more than Aerosmith. My favorites are still Runaway and You Give Love a Bad Name.

He was on ELLEN-TV talking about his trip. He said he told his young son, that for winter break he was going to take him to a place with "Big Ears".
Innocently his son said, "we are going to the White House?"
John took his family to Walt Disney World...

Jon Bon Jovi is the only way I'd get on RnRC. The ride would make me so sick but I would ride it and suffer to hear Jon blasting in my ears.

I have been a super fan since I was in middle school.

Yup, I can see that now...hearing "Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl..." while doing the loops. Yeah, that works... ;)

I don't know why, but when I think of that song, I think of one of those giant fruit hats - I supposed that could replace the donut...

Areosmith is better disney should keep them on the ride.
You walk around a high school and you will see areosmith shirts not john barf jovi. (no offence to anyone)

From a business standpoint: Bon Jovi is still selling records, Aerosmith isn't.

I would also guess the "mash-up" of "It's My Life" on Glee helped bring a little bit of exposure back to Bon Jovi. But that's purely anecdotal.

(no offence to anyone)Believe it or not, there are a bunch of Jon Bon Jovi fans who will not be at all offended that their kids (and other kids their children's age) don't think it is cool or "baller" or whatever you all call it.

We don't even gauge "cool" by what teenagers do. Someday you will be like us. :scared1:

And there is nothing wrong with Barry Manilow. Copacabana would be FINE for a rollercoaster.

You can't beat a bit of Bon Jovi - a tune for every tragedy!

Thought it might be good for teenage angst .. .. .. it was for me :goodvibes

Any realistic chance?!?

I love Bon Jovi and I'm 20 years old, since I was 14 I listened to Aerosmith Bon Jovi and The Who for every "teenage tragedy" :rotfl: (and others that weren't from my generation). I haven't ridden RnRC because I always would chicken out but I think their music is perfect for a Roller Coaster ;).
P.s. I think I love more than before John Bon Jovi now that I know he loves disney:love:

There has been 2 times now that I just missed seeing the Hansen brothers there!! They are my fave boat on DC! I love the "Shut up and fish" shirt they sell in Norway LOL

I think you would be hard pressed to call Bon Jovi "Rockin", they are more like a pop power ballad poser band, (not that there is anything wrong with that). I think RedHotChiliPepppers would be great for the RRC!! :cool2::cool2::cool2:

Last trip my DD bought this shirt and wears it proudly. We also have the bumper stickers. Ahhhh, Edgar! :cloud9:

OT, hello in Jackson. My mom used to live there, now she's over in Manchester Township.

I think Jon is a cutie and a very intelligent man. Bon Jovi's clean image would fit right into Disney. They are the "All American Band" IMO. His songs, especially the more recent ones have very positive messages. His concerts are truly amazing...full of positive energy! He married his highschool sweet heart and they are still together twenty some odd years later...and he is not a drug addict! If Disney were to make a change, I think Bon Jovi would be the perfect choice.:thumbsup2

I love Edgar too! I just wish they would all stop smoking so much! How sad was it when Jake's sister died and they were all so emotional? OMG I cried so hard watching that. My parents live in Whiting! We're originally from Monroe though. Small world :) haha!

Hey Susan. I've been watching the Deadliest Catch marathon all day today. :cool1:

I thought that was the most emotional episode (when Jake's sister passed) and I was so proud that they all showed their true emotions and didn't act like a bunch of macho idiots. I was proud that Sig also stepped up and made it a priority to get Jake back to port ASAP.

It's the stuff like that that makes me love the show. The personal stuff! Like when Phil was hurt, the fights with his sons, and when they talk to the families at home. I love the show "After the Catch" also. Really lets you see how they are in real life. Such a great show! When does the new season start??

Don't know but look what I just found while searching:

Captain Keith is probably my least favorite captain but this is still :cool1:

Did you see them on Inside the Actors' Studio? What a great show that was. I also saw the HBO Special, which was very interesting and informative. Jon must be getting soft in his old age -- he's finally letting the public in, just a little more, to see the behind the scenes stuff and the stories that have been kept quiet for so many years. Still never talks about Alec John Such though. And I really feel sorry for Hughie. I guess he always knew he'd never be a full member of Bon Jovi, but he seems like such a great guy.

It astounds me why Bon Jovi continues to be a name in the music world. He's a major hasbeen. What has he done? Maybe one good album. Maybe a few good songs. That's it. His run at the top of the charts lasted maybe a year. His Marketing Agent needs the Nobel Peace Prize. No, that wouldn't be good enough, becuase that's not worth anything any more.

As if aerosmith was clean cut, Just google "toxic twins"
and see what you get.
Love Aerosmith but it is time for update on the RRC.
Bon Jovi I don't think so.

Has some good music, but if you are going to
update you don't use a has been.

Not sure who I would like there are a few I can think of.
An update is someone who will fit for long term for Disney.
Needs to be someone who will last. That's my thoughts any how.

That's fine that you disagree about Bon Jovi, but they have been around 25+ years. :confused3 Everyone may not like their music, but they continue to sell out concerts around the world.
