If they had been from Manchester I would have booked. Biz class would be great at the right price but if cheap economy come along 1st I will not risk waiting.

Have you flown into Miami before? Whats the drive time to Disney? Its something we might consider, maybe have a couple of days in miami before driving to disney.

No, never been to Miami. We have considered it a few times, probably stay down there 1st night and see Miami then drive up next day.

I haven't flown to Orlando for several years, but usually we go somewhere else in Florida on our trip as well - a friend has a place in Sanibel for example.
Last trip we flew with VA to MIA, which was fine. The drive back from WDW was about 4.5 hours taking it fairly easy.
We always stay overnight in Miami on arrival as don't fancy a long drive late afternoon/evening after the flight and 5 hours time difference.

Just found out you can book on AA.com in $USD cheaper than on UK site.

Direct flights LHR~MIA 401 (673.80 USD)

Indirect from Manchester to Miami from 398

Been messing with different options, can get MAN~Mia(1 stop) outbound MCO~MAN return (2 stops) 398.

All these options are a lot more on UK version of their site but you can book in $USD.

Mine is automatically giving me prices in pounds - if I clear my cookies will I be able to access the US site?

You can book if you tick country of residence U.S. & All Others

Their Terms say Customers residing in select European and Asian countries may purchase tickets on one of our Worldwide sites. UK is in the list of select counties that can book in US$

Not gone all the way thru to booking but someone I know has rung and asked and yes it can be done.

We need to fly out 14th/15th and come back on the 28th/29th. Unfortunately back at work on September 1st next year :scared1:

Have got the US dollars back but can't get both dates - I'm checking on the bit that says "I can be flexible with my dates".

Just checked your dates, Heathrow to Miami direct return flights.
Adults $698.80, child $612.50 total $2709.20
1,622 or 405pp average fare.

When you arrive at www.aa.com click on Visit AA.com U.S. Site not UK site that will give you a price of 2869.68

Also tick US resident to get prices in $USD, once you get further on in booking process it allows you to enter UK info and pay by credit card with UK address.

Thanks Wayne, is there any way to get good flights to Orlando (ultimate destination), I'm not sure whether to take this and use airmiles for internal flight or consider the drive, which I am not keen on

In two minds, book or take a risk and wait for something to MCO

I spent about 2 hours on their site last night trying to find the best way from MAN to MCO, For 398 I could get the route I want but 2 changes of planes each way. Something I would do if I had to but so far away I am waiting for a better deal.
If I lived nearer London I would also consider the direct flights, I just don't fancy 4 hours drive to London plus 4 hours upto Orlando. one or the other I would do it.
I could do miles and money Virgin for 666 but never paid so much for a flight, I am also hoping a biz class deal comes up. Although a great deal I am waiting(probably regret it)

We've taken the plunge and booked LHR - MIA for the three of us rather than MAN - MCO. Cost was just over $2000 for the three of us, averages out at 420 each on direct flights. Even allowing for an overnight stay at Heathrow and parking, it is still saving us around 700 on current best fares.

On the UK site, we were offered direct outbound and via Paris on the return journey for around the same price, but the same direct flights on the UK web site were around 100pp dearer,

Now anyone who is wanting to travel from Manchester only needs to sit back and await the avalanche of offers between Manchester and Florida now we have booked!!

We've just booked as well - very happy with the price as it works out at under 500 per person, about 150 less than we paid for this year's flights.

Feeling happy now, as we only have to sort out 5 nights accommodation after our HRH stay, plus car hire.

Just received our confirmation/e-ticket and must have been a generous exchange rate from AA as the price ended up at 404 each for the direct LHR - MIA flight in both directions - almost another 50 in our pockets :goodvibes
