Adventures by Disney offer with free cruise

seems like a good deal but im afraid booking adventures by disney vacations with points is a killer.

any thoughts on booking with points? is it a waste?
what are peoples thoughts on adventures by disney in general?
has anyone done adult only departures? is it worth it vs regular departures?

Before you give it serious thought you might want to find out of the free cruise is available with points reservations. It may very well be for cash bookings only. There is no mention of the cruise offer on DVCMember.com, and they are pretty good about posting any limited-time offers.

As for the value, I think you'll make out much better renting the points for $10-12 each. I've never priced AbD on points but usually with cruises you only get a value of $7-7.50 per point when compared to the cash price. If those numbers hold true for AbD, you should be able to pay for the trip renting about 30% fewer points. The question is whether it's worth the hassle to you.
