My sister and I were in WDW for free dining in Oct.
The night before we left, we used our last TS Credits at DTD Planet Hollywood.
When we sat down the server asked us if we were on the dingin plan then explained our options.
We ordered our drinks, entrees and later dessert.
When she brought the bill, she asked us again about the dining plan, and I gave her my room key for the credits.
She brought everything back, I took my key, signed the receipt and left the tip on the table.
Now after being home for two weeks, I get my credit card bill with a front desk charge for $73......it was from Planet Hollywood.
I don't mind paying what I owe, but this also just kinda pissed me off.
I don't remeber seeing anything on the recepit that looked like it wasn't going to be using the credits....you know how all the totals will show 0.00
I don't know if I can fight this in any way. I know that $73 isn't that much, but when I shouldn't have had to pay it - when you're single it is a lot of grocery money.:goodvibes

I just went though my vacation folder and found both receipts from Planet Hollywood, I have 1 that shows the $73, and the second that shows that 2 TS credits were used with a charge of 0.00.
I don't know who to call or where to start, but now that I have proof I want my $73 back

If I were you I would call Disney and explain to them exactly what has happened. They try to make things right when they can. With everything being linked to your room key/res# they may be able to track your allowances that were used. It's worth the phone call and I agree..$73 is a lot of money to not at least try. Good luck, hope it gets resolved.:thumbsup2

Ouch, I would try and get it back as well. I have no idea who to call but I wish you luck in trying.

Not sure what number you contact at Disney or PH. Hopefully someone will be able to answer. If nothing else, dispute it with your credit card institution.

I hope it works out. This is one of the reasons I stopped having my CC attached to my KTTW card. I had it happen once but caught it at the front desk before I left as I got my bill that showed charges to the card.
Let us know!

I'd just call my credit card and contest it and fax them proof with the two receipts.
I've never had a problem contesting with a credit card.

After being transfered to Disney billing and being on hold for over 15 minutes, found out that they are closed on the weekends. So, I have to call them back tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens.

This is the very reason I don't link my credit card to the KTTW card. I do not want any charges that I am not aware of, if I was paying cash in your situation, the mistake would have been caught at the restaurant. :santa::santa::santa:

I'm pretty sure Disney will take care of it. Esp. since you have the receipts. I would mention tomorrow when you call that you already placed one long distance call to handle this matter. They should reimburse you for your calls as well. Good luck!

All you have to do is email the address that's at the bottom of your folio - it's the research/billing department. Here is the address: resortsresearchandbilling@disneyworld.com.
They have access to all charges and will get back to you promptly with an answer. Good luck, Tiger

No hassle.
Called Disney Billing 407-828-6530
Was on the phone for less than 2 minutes and was told that I should see a credit reimbursement in 3-5 days.
It pays to keep your receipts!!!

I don't put my credit card on it either for this reason, we pay cash for tips.

Actually this is good, but the best thing would be to get a folio printed out upon check-out. Almost all purchases are real-time, or within a few hours of transaction, and so you can see all of the charges. The OP would have seen this charge as it was put onto her KTTW card. We've only had 1 time in a ton of trips, that a tip was charged a few weeks after our trip. We noticed it missing on our check-out folio, and just waited for the charge to show up. This is certainly not the norm though, as most transactions show up immediately.
I highly suggest that all guests get print outs of their folios at least every other day, and always upon check-out.

Actually it would not have helped me.
I got a print out when leaving, and all of my charges were there excpet this one - for 2 reasons.
1- it should not have been there since it was actually a dining credit. (I left cash on the table for tip what they ended up charging was my entire meal)
2- as I said in my original post it was used the night before check out
Anyway, no harm. Disney very nicely took care of the problem without:thumbsup2 any difficulty!

That's the same thing that happened with our missing tip as I mentioned in my above post. For whatever reason, it took several weeks for it to show up - some kind of computer glitch.
I totally understand that you ate out the night before checkout, so, when you checked out the next morning, the morning after you ate there, you would have gotten a print out of your folio with this charge on it, but since you were subject to an error, the charge was not on there. It sounds like there was some kind of glitch or error, just like what happened to us, but for most people, it definitely helps to get a print out upon check out as usually it's very accurate. I really believe this is an important reminder as I talk to many people who never check their receipts or folios while at Disney, and this is how errors are missed.
Good for you for checking! Glad it worked out! Tiger :)

Thanks for the warning about keeping receipts and I'm glad you are getting your $ back. When we do the dining plan, I don't attach a cc to our room. It hopefully reduces the chance for this kind of thing happening.

When we went on free dining this past time, we didn't get receipts with actual prices on them to keep except on 2 occasions. Each time, we simply got a zeroed out bill with credits used listed.
At CS at POFQ, I saw them take the receipt with the actual prices on it and put it into a folder off to the side of the cash register.
I was disappointed because it made it very difficult to add up our group's totals (I used the allearns menu list) to see if paying for the dining plan out of pocket would have been worth it.....of course, that's probably the point.

Happened to me once too, in 2008. Had already checked out, used our last 2CS at Epcot for lunch. The CM said dining plan, I signed the zero slip, got billed thru the hotel for the lunch when I returned home since it obviously hadn't gone through correctly. I had all the slips for backup and was willing to fax them, but didn't need to.
A call to Disney from home, they transferred me to the resort (CSR) billing dept., and the charge was taken right off. The CM could apparently "see" my account and that I had 2 CS left. Though he didn't say it in so many words, seemed to me from his attitude and our conversation that they see this fairly often.
Oh, and I just jot down the total from the register on my copy of the slip with the pen they give me to sign their copy. Very rarely have I missed a DDP total, then I just figure it from the posted prices. Yes, the Dining Plans are worth it for us!
