My basic question is......where can one find workout gear (shorts, moisture-wicking tech shirts, etc.) for the more "fully figured" woman? Most stores carry to up XL, meaning women's 14-16, but I go about one size beyond that, up to 18-20. All the workout gear seems to be for the already thin person! Which one day will be the reward for working out I guess, but in getting started, I can't seem to find much out there!:confused3 Don't get me wrong, I've "started" before, with the recommendation that buying tech tops and the proper gear will motive you to get out there running, walking, etc. I found this to be so true, but the stuff I bought last year doesn't fit anymore! (Sound familiar?) So, I start again, and need some new duds! :)
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm right there with you! ;) Check out Junonia.com. They have some really nice athletic wear, but it is a bit pricey. They do have a clearance section that can sometimes have good deals. Also, Danskin carries some plus-sized stuff. Check out their website, and also look for danskin on amazon.com. I got 2 danskin running/bike shorts on amazon on sale last week. Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

This may not be the most fashionable, but what about mens shirts and shorts? I got mens running tights, they are a bit long but the womens would have been too (only 4'11" ) Perhaps they would be a bit more roomy and since most races the shirts are really unisex, it wouldn't so much matter.
I personally get most of my tech gear at Marshalls, discount prices, just last years stuff. Who cares though?

for price point - Target Men's Dept... not at all fashionable - but I refuse to pay $10 - $30 more for the same thing...
(Target also has good wicking material for woman's sized undergarments I have found )
Walmart sell danskin, and Super Target have champion, both have + sizes. If you are ok with spending more look at UA.
I wear skorts / shorts in the summer and thats where I get mine from.
For raceing tops I wear mens, as I find the womens never fit my arms right, I do have one womens top that I will where training, only because I got it so cheap.

Thanks to everyone for their responses! Lots of good input and ideas. Now I know what to put on my list for Santa to bring me! And thanks to the person who PM’d me. I tried to PM you back but can’t because one needs a minimum of ten posts in order to PM, and I’m only on my fourth. I know there is a whole culture of running skirt people out there, and I like what I see on runningskirts.com. And they have women’s sizes! And a clearance section! (Cheap-***** of the world unite!) Definitely on the Christmas list.
Thanks again, most helpful WISHers!

Target (c9) - found xxl clearance running skirt for $5 - and it fit! I wear sizes 22-24? i'd say it's about a 20-22 - so may be worth checking out...the largest size RunningSkirt i ordered is snug...and will need to wait to wear it, but it's well made
