I am going to DLP at Xmas and can't decide whether to take a pushchair for my daughter she is 6 and think she may look a bit ridiculous in it but it's that or piggy backs all day. Anyone taken the same age children and found they got tired quickly.

My DD is 4 but gets mistaken for about 5 years old and i always take her buggy with us, If my feet hurt after a day of walking can you imagine what a childs would feel like. Do whats right for you and your child and don't worry about what other people think.

You could always take the buggy and get a bike lock and lock it at one of the pushchair sections and pop back and get it when your DD gets tired (I did this on my Sept trip and worked a treat)

I'd agree with Emma, do whats right for you and your child. I've certainly seen children who look to be 6 or even older in one of the pushchairs you can hire in DLP.

Having said that, my DD was 5 when we first went, and hadn't been in a pushchair at home since she was about 3 and a half. She never complained about having tired legs or sore feet the whole time we were at DLP, and we were on the go constantly for 3 days :). I don't think I would have ever got her in a pushchair at DLP, she would have point blank refused, but each child is different.

First and second time we went my DS was 4 then 5 and I didn't take a buggy, having said that I don't think DS has ever enjoyed himself as much as when we went for his 7th birthday and took my then 3 year old niece and he got to ride around on the hired pushchairs buggy board all day. :)

I'd say take it. Even if she doesn't sit in it all that much, they are great for carrying coats, backpacks etc. My 7 yr old will jump into her 2 yr old sister's pushchair whenever she gets a chance, or will sit across the top (it is an older model with a shelf at the back) when she is tired.

We took a pushchair when our son was 3, coming up 4, and we really needed it then, he had a little nap in it and we used it to cart stuff like spare clothes etc round....
In Florida at Christmas when he had just turned 5 we hired one for a couple of hours on a couple of days, more to help him avoid the huge swarms of people and their bags etc which were banging into him.
When we went back to DLP in July, we didnt even think of taking/hiring one as he wouldn't have used it, plus he is very tall and would have been ridiculously uncomfortable. We just did things at his pace, none of us felt too tired, and we didnt have to piggy back or carry him once.

See how your child feels. when we went in january 08 my daughter was then 5years and outwalked us adults even on the day she was sick .
We were in Florida 4 weeks ago and i was prepared to get a stroller for her as my son when he was 6 years used to pop in and out of one, but she again out walked us all saying that there was just too much to see.
