Does anyone who's been on the Tulum Ruins excursion have advice to what to wear in order to be most comfortable and prepared?

My mother is going by herself on this one when we're in Cozumel of our 8/3 cruise, and I want to make sure that she's prepared. I've heard a few tips on bringing boxed lunch and your own water, but not much on clothing.

Thanks!!

Comfy shoes for walking & light weight clothing!! There is a lot of walking around in hot, humid weather for most of the year. The only exception to that I noticed was in Dec. The weather was warm & pleasant. Have fun!! :)

....and don't forget the sunglasses and a big straw hat. I forgot my Rx sunglasses in our stateroom and was pretty miserable in that bright sun. I still enjoyed the excursion but I was kicking myself the whole time about the sunglasses and the fact that I didn't buy one of those $5 hats the locals were selling on the way to the tour.

It was VERY worthwhile and, yes, bring some extra bottles of water and some fruit.

Have fun!

Thanks so much for your responses!! I want her to enjoy and be comfortable since the cruise is her birthday gift.

Any other helpful tips would be great!

Don't forget your swimsuit! A beach break at Playa del Sol was added to this excursion (we spent about 45 mins there) I wore my swimsuit under my shorts and top. They give you a boxed Subway lunch on the bus (which was quite good) and unlimited cups of soda and beer (water costs extra). The bus was a coach and very confortable. Wear sneakers and socks, it will help keep the pebbles out of your shoes and help to walk on uneven ground. Overall, an excellent excursion!!
PS buy the book if you are into history. It really is a nice book about the Mayan calendar.

Have fun!
