To those recently back-or anyone else-how long until your next trip?

We just got back Sunday evening, and won't be heading to WDW again until Christmas 2003! It seems so far away! I really want to go down with the kids at least once over Christmas, and 2002 is too soon (out of BWV points!). Luckily, I do think we will be able to spend a little time at HH next summer.

How about you? How long do you have to wait?

DH wants to get a 3rd one in before July 4th, 2003, so hmmmm maybe we'll be back end of next June as well? Or maybe just me and him for a quick 4 day trip . . .who knows.

We were at VWL and VB June 15-23.

Now we just purchased airfare for Christmas!!!!! We have never been there during the holidays and can't wait to spend time at BCV!

Next June, we hope to go back to HH.

Wish Upon a Star....I think we have the same vacation schedule! We were just there July 4th-8th and we return on Thanksgiving until the 13th of December (the trip started as Nov. 30- Dec. 7th....we're having my parents there that week).

It's very nice to have a trip coming again soon (well, soon enough for me! I can recover and get back to planning!)

We had a very long wait between our trip when we joined DVC and our first stay "at home"....Aug. 2000 to Jan 2002...and it really is hard! We were definitely ready to be there when that trip came! We don't plan on doing that again if we can help it!

From now on we plan to keep our trips about 11 months apart....except maybe when we have ap's . Then we can fit in an extra during the year! I think our plans into the future are Oct./Nov. 2003, Spring 2004 (maybe...and probably a non-dvc trip if we do go...alas not enough points!) and Sept. 2004....not sure after that.

We were at OKW 4/21 - 4/29. Heading back in early December for 9 nights. We try to make a December trip every year (since joining DVC!) It's such a fantastic time to visit! We've also been going in late april/early may...and every other year will probably go back in late october for the food and wine festival.

Keep dreaming....you'll probably find a way to get back before 12/03!!

Just back on Saturday (7/13) and will be going again for Easter 4/11-21 2003. If I can get a good code and decent airfare I'd try to sneek in a four day weekend in the fall. Gee....I thought AP's were supposed to save me money! LOL;)

OK, I admit I have a lot of trips planned (see below). But that is exactly why I purchased DVC. My family truly utilizes it like it is our second home. My parents live a little over an hour from WDW. We've always gone for holidays, school recess, etc. -- whenever the airfare is reasonable. My kids are my parents only grandkids; they actually go through "withdrawal" when they are not around! So for about $600, we would fly down and have free room AND board! Often times we would take a day trip to WDW or IOA (did I mention the free "rental" car too! LOL). However, we would always dread the long ride back to their house, usually leaving "early", missing out on the evening events and atmosphere. Then we started booking hotel stays for the tail end of our trips, sparing my parents from taking us to the airport -- sometimes at 4am for those 6am departures! But we all know how expensive the hotel stays can get... so, DVC to the rescue!

Our last trip was at the beginning of July; we dropped the kids off for the whole summer! While they are away, DH and I promised to take a weekend trip somewhere, just the two of us for a change. So guess where we are going the first weekend in August? I will feel guilty being at WDW without my kids, especially with them only an hour away, but I think I will get over it pretty fast! Then, two weeks after that, we will back to pick them up; first, spending five nights at BCV with both my parents and my in-laws.

As you see, we have many other trips planned, generally just short stays, no more than three nights. I wish, like some of you, I could spend two whole weeks or more at at time, but my office would call me so much or pile up the work for my return that it wouldn't be worth it!

But this just reinforces the flexible of DVC. Gotta love it!

I feel so fortunate that DH and I are now able to take many long weekends during the year. We have yet to go 'home' for the first time, but now have 3 planned for the remainder of the year.
I don't know why it feels different now that we're planning trips 'home' instead of to the resorts, but somehow it just feels so good I just want to laugh out loud!!!

We stayed at OKW for 2 weeks in May and won't be returning until May 2003. We used to always go in June, but now that the girls are grown they won't be going with us so often so we switched to May. We sometimes throw a trip in during the first part of December or Thanksgiving, but not this year. We are saving our points for another two week trip that includes a cruise. We did find that the first two weeks of May are a great time to go. The crowds are low and the weather is great!

We just spent 9 great nights at BWV, our next trip is May 22-30, we are doing the 3 night cruise followed by 5 nights at BWV. We did it within the yr to maximize our APs.
