Dh gave me the ok to upgrade our seats from coach to business class for our flights. We are flying on AirTran and you upgrade when you check-in online 24 hrs before your flight. No problem for our flight to MCO. But on our return flight I will have to use the airline check-in desk at AKL to do this. Will I be able to upgrade our seats from this computer/terminal? Thanks for your help.

You should note that you are not able to use RAC earlier than 12 hours before your flight (and the hours are 5-1, so you can't do it even that far in advance if your flight time is before 5:00 p.m.). If getting those business class seats will require that you do it sooner than than 12 hours, you may need to find a plan B to get it done at 24 hours. I'm also not certain that the RAC desks even are set up to process upgrades for you.

My suggestion would be to have the front desk at your resort or one of the guest relations locations in the parks or at DTD do the check in/upgrade for you at 24 hours. They will do SWA check ins for guests, so I don't know why they wouldn't do this for you. Another alternative would be to have a reliable (100 percent) friend or relative do the check in for you from their computer at home. You'd just need to provide them the information they would need to log on and do it.

Thanks for the info. I will ask guest relations at Epcot if they will do it early in our trip as that is the park we will be in at the 24 hr. mark. If they can't, I will arrange with my mom to do it for us from her home.

If we check in online at the 24 hr mark and upgrade our seats, will be still be able to print our boarding passes and check our luggage with RAC the morning of our flight?

When we used RAC at POFQ in August, they delivered our boarding passes and baggage stickers/ticket to our room the night before. It worked out great. We tagged our bags, dropped them off with RAC and headed to a park for a few hours.

Anyone know if it still works this way? Most of what I've read says that you have to go wait in the RAC line the morning of your flight to get your boarding passes.
