Pixie dust and prayers needed so badly today...

Really need some pixie dust and thoughts/prayers right now for myself and a whole lot of other people....

This day has taken a definite turn for the worst. This morning I logged onto my local news website as normal, and found a story about an unidentified female found who was killed in a hit and run sometime between last night at 7:30 and this morning at 7:30. there were no details at that time.

About half an hour ago I got a text message from a friend telling me.....it was my friend Candice's oldest sister. I have known this family since I was little and gone to church with them, they are part of the very tight knit community that is in our small town. Candice, her two other sisters, and her mother are in NY right now, I think for a modeling job, and won't be home until Sunday. The two boys and her father are at home and they all know.

I am........filled with so much right now. I am so upset, but even more so at what the family must be going through right now. I can't imagine what's going through their heads...can't even begin to imagine. Filled with anger. How can you hit someone and just leave them to die? If you are driving drunk and afraid to get caught, call from a payphone. Anything. How heartless do you have to be to leave someone to DIE. I don't know what to feel.

Please send any thoughts/prayers you have to this family and our community. Thank you. very much.

Oh, I am so sorry. What a horrible thing to happen to your friend, her family, friends. And also to the whole community. When this happens, it is a tragedy for everyone.

Thank you so much all for the thoughts and prayers.

We are finding out more about what may have happened, but sadly, no one has come forward to claim responsibility. I don't know that they ever will, but I have to hold out hope that justice will happen in some form.

Needless to say, we are all still in shock, and the tone of the church family right now is very much sorrowful. It is just such a tragedy, the way she died. It is going to be a very long recovery road for everyone, especially her family.

Yes, it has been quite the news spectacle. Reporters everywhere.

It's not often our small area of the world gets any attention. So it is odd to us to see news vans around in the middle of a country road. So weird.


Thanks again for your thoughts prayers and condolences. I'm a firm believer in the power of positive thought and believe the positive thoughts can prove to be a comfort to this family and community.

As for the person responsible I hope they can identify them, if not I hope they get what they deserve in one way or another (I know this could never make up for the loss of a life unfortunately). It really does knock your faith in humanity :hug:
